What's everyone's thoughts on this??

Unless something dramatic happens... I'm thinking that we(The Raiders) will probably end up with the top pick.

But I think we will end up staying with Derek Carr.

There's been all sorts of talk around who will make a play for him... From the Jets to the Texans in the AFC and the Eagles to the Rams in the NFC.

If I'm totally honest... I think Jameis Winston is the better QB... But his character red flags are well deserved.

I'm thinking we will trade a couple of spots down to the Jets... And draft either Leonard Williams or Amari Cooper....

Haven't they benched him for Vick??

I think the Rams have a lot of pieces to deal with and they need something at QB.

Ownership draft strategy seems to go against it happening though

I believe he has a shoulder injury.

I was thinking more from the fact he is young (24) and still inexperienced (24 games).

They did draft him in the 2nd round so they must have some high expectations from him. Ok, he hasn't delivered yet but to give up on someone drafted in that round so quickly might, well would that be wise.

Anyway if they draft another rookie qb, they go from one inexperienced qb to one that is even more so.

I dont think Mariota is any lock to be a franchise QB. He would be in the right system, he would be with Chip Kelly... but he aint getting to them. Who ever takes Mariota really needs to buy into him, his skill set and devise an offensive scheme that puts him in a position to use his skills

I couldn't agree more...

Which is why I think Winston is the better prospect IMO...

He's more of a prototypical pocket passer who makes big clutch throws...

Mariota is a guy I think you would have far more trouble fitting him in.

If you can fit him in though... He has some amazing gifts....

I just don't know how well it translates to the NFL...

One other thing to keep in mind...

Neither Mariota or Winston are Seniors... So if it became obvious that Carr was not the long term answer... Then it wouldn't surprise me to see them decide to stay another year in college instead of going in to a bad situation.
