Before I get to Maven...

Triple H has made a career out of the Harley Race knee lift, a bottle of water and the Pedigree.
HHH made a career out of ring work, working the crowd, being over and also being one of the best heels the business has seen. If you were going to have a go at how he got where he is you should have used the old Kliq take on things

Helps if you sleep with the boss's daughter too. He knows how to work the mic but its about time he found some new material - ten years dishing out the same crap its no wonder he hangs around with Flair.
I don't see what HHH does in his sex life has to do with having good matches  . In the last ten years HHH has gone from a Flair clone jobber in wcw to a rich kid to helping vince and Taker to being the brains behind Austin being ran over to the power trip to evolution. I've missed other things he has done but to say he has done the same thing for 10 years is wrong. Last 2-3 with his evolution run maybe but the fact is, the WWE is in a down time and you need a proven guy to be there as champ. Orton vs Benjamin wouldn't draw at all. You need your big names around to help the product draw.
As for wrestling some of the most boring matches I have ever watched have involved HHH. Usually its up to his opponent to make it near watchable. Yes, he takes some big bumps but the best performance comes from the bloke who jobs for him....
HHH bounces around like a pinball for guys to help them look good. Look at how he bounced around for Benoit and Orton. HHH is still a decent worker who can still go but due to the net people don't view his matches the same. HHH was one of the hottest guys in 2000 then he started to date daddys little girl, got hurt and came back to his same spot and the net went off :?
HHH can still go and go very well within the WWE levels. He has had some of the best matches in recent WWE/WWF history. The 3 way matches this year, the 2/3 falls with austin in 2001 and the ladder match against Rocky are 4 that come to mind right away when you think fo the best matches in the last ten years in the WWF/WWE

The only reason Triple H was so successful is because the WWE shoved him down our throats.
Heaps of wrestlers have been shoved down our throats by the WWE and not get over. Think of how Val Venis was used in 98-99, Regal 2000-2001, Billy Gunn 99, etc yet none of them could crack the main events. HHH has talent and got over with it. Don't forget the price HHH paid in 96 for being a part of the Kliq good bye where he was anything but shoved down our throats, so for him to be so over in 97 and 98 even after being used as a jobber shows the talent he had.
Now... I find Maven very lame. The tough enough ruined it for me. Maybe if he came through the system he might have worked but the fact that he "won" his job within the WWE and didn't earn it by working his way up. He just doesn't seem as one of the wrestlers rather a fan who has won a job and getting to wrestle against the big boys. Plus he can't string a decent run of matches together without getting hurt or the fact he uses the same moves and boring matches over and over again.
