Despite the popular belief that "Parramatta" is derived from an aboriginal word (Burrumatta) meaning "Place of many Eels" I am of the opinion that it means something totally different.
Like many words in the English language, popular usage over time can change the meaning of a word. For me, in the 00's it is best defined as:
Parramatta (parr-a-matt-a)
Heartache, expectation, disappointment, excitement, frustration, belief, excellence, mediocrity, hopelessness, confidence and hope.
I hope every week that they can play to the level we fans expect. I suffer with them in every loss and celebrate every win. I am disappointed when they don't play to their ability but most of all, I believe that one day soon, maybe not this year and maybe not next year, but soon, Parramatta will also mean Champions.
