How often does a side make the eight and have the most missed tackles of any team? We look very likely to do it this year. I love Toby Rudolf as a player, but Ben Hunt is the only forward in the comp who has missed more tackles. Wade Graham is close behind.
This is not to be a wrist-slitter at all. I expected us to miss the finals this year with a massive loss of experience and that was before Josh Morris departed. The team has outperformed expectations on many fronts.
We've blooded a number of young players this year who have showed they belong at NRL level and have torn some of the lesser sides apart. But the important next step is improving their defensive reads and physicality, probably through a combination of bringing some veteran mentors and a lot of hard, hard work.
