Conspiracy theory number 236476463

Anyone notice how all the Cleal recruits have left or were not signed by Smith.

Lyon
Ryan
Tonga
S Witt

Im sure Cleal ha recuited more than these players if anyone can add anymore please do.And now M Witt maybe on the outer. But they all seem to be the ones that Noel cleal has recruited.

Was it wise to have crusher leave as recruiting officer. I thought he did a great job while he was at the club. For the sake of say 130k a year we will now wait another 15yrs to develop a player of international class such as Jamie Lyon. Great work Fitzy. I am starting to wonder whether our CEO has parramatta's interests before his own.

Look, Crusher was great while he was here, but he aint the only person that can spot talent. IE, he didnt spot mateo

It may take another 15 years to get a player of lyons talent.......but players like that are a rare breed anyway and dont come along all that often.

Lyon is a once in 20 year player, I really thought and still do think that he will become one of the true greats to have played this game.

This whole situation just like our year is just a mess.

I never bought for one minute Fitzy's stated reason for Cleal's departure - the Pokie tax  (that hasn't even come into effect one season later).

We probably will never know exactly what transpired, and with Jamie's actions serving to compound any possible effect on morale that Cleal's departure may have had.

Let's hope that the club can somehow draw a line under these sagas, and start next year fresh.

The top clubs don't have any problems retaining top quality players. Its clear that there is disharmony at the club, and for a senior player like hindy to arrange a pizza night tells me one thing. He can see the internal rift in the club, and he has taken it upon himself to get everyone together for alittle bonding. Why can't the coach or management do any of this? Hopeless!

Guys - it may be very wise to think before you post. As has been said we may never know the full reason for why Cleal left. I to have heard different things but as it is only hearsay we can't post them without evidence to support this OK.

There was also allegedly a rift between Cleal and Fitzgerald over the length of contract for his son. ;-)

But remember TE without a link its rumour and innuendo and could possibly get the site into trouble.

Put it this way:

* Lyon is an arsewipe

* Lyon is talented - maybe supremely so?

* We couldn't win a Premiership in our best year since the 80's with Lyon in our backline

well thank BS solely for that one - due to his inability to prepare teams for big games.....and i mean important big games

examples

1992 and 1993 Grand Finals with St. George

1997 (2 chokes), 1998 THE choke v Canterbury), 1999 (choke v Melbourne) Finals with Parra (i'll give him 2000, at least we didn't capitulate in an embarrassing way that year v Brisbane)

2001 Grand Final - no need to say anymore

2004 Round 1 v Canterbury that really broke our season in my opinion after promising trial form 3 from 3

I think he is good but not that good.

To be that good you have to have mental application, or at least have your head screwed on.

He showed us earlier this year that has cannot handle the pressure, so he ran away.

He looks like the side of a barn at the moment, and will take some time to knock him back into shape.

I would not be surprised if he walked out on another club, or ever regained his old form again.

But you can say in the NRL forum that Manly is behind Lyon leaving Parramatta?

Briza - as Willow verified it was my opinion and I am allowed one - would you like me to use the word alleged just for you.

If you read it properly I said it would appear that Manly were the instigators for Lyon to pursue a release. I never said they did.

Briza  grow up

The phrasing used in NRL forum was "it appears that" - not is behind. It certainly appears that way with the Lyon situation to many people.

Do you have any evidence to the contrary Briza, or are you just here to *allegedly* try and stir something up on a personal basis?

I for one, think that every thread dedicated to Lyon should be locked. It is a dead issue and one that I think has so many twists and turns that I really couldn't give a rats where he goes from this point on. For whatever reason, he willingly left the club, has watched them slip into mediocrity and continues to tell everyone how happy he is with his decision. Jamie....get stuffed you fat twat!! That's the last I am going to say on him.
