After watching the Penrith win, I can't picture the Sharks ever holding the trophy up. I feel ashamed and saddened to say it but, all those reasons Aries listed have to have factored in through the 37 painful years.

Here is another reason - Is the club cursed? Has there been divine intervention? Are we as Sharks supporters doomed to follow a team that will never hold the cup?

How come Penrith, a team that languished at the bottom for more than two decades, gets to win the Grand Final twice and the Sharks get to win it never.

What must the pathetic rabble called "the board" be thinking after the Panthers win? Do they think at all might be the better question, because they can't have a brain or a heart to allow the blue, black and white to resemble the mess that it is in today.

The bottom line is that our team is crap.
Good coaches have come and gone and still no trophy to show for it, Your right when you say sadshark we are destined to to hold the cup.

I've had the same thoughts, SS. That the club is cursed. I used to think it was the `little brother' image with St.George, but Tommy Bishop put paid to that. We had it won in 1978, but dubious refereeing put paid to that. In the last decade we have had a number of chances, but fell at the final hurdle - particularly '99 when we looked real good things but just couldn't hack it. North Sydney was once called `perennial losers'. A mate of mine was friends with the late Ken Irvine, and he gave the same tag to the Sharks.
Yep. I think there is a sense of negativity and lack of confidence that pervades our beloved club like a disease. I think Anderson sees this but, so far, has been unable to do anything about it.
Jack Gibson once said that the strength and success of a club start at the front office. I think this is a big part of our problem. We need fresh faces with fresh ideas. Peter Gow was one of these and look how he lifted the club, only to be brought down because of a few misdemeanours. Since his demise it seems that the Board have not been able to get it right. Yep. We need fresh faces with fresh ideas and a background based on success.

Maybe we should start a "Bring back Gow" push for the next election?? :)

I don't think we're cursed, just plain unlucky. But player recruitment and retention has always been a problem, particularly in recent years. The club has let go some quality players in the last couple of years, and have not replaced them well enough. But we have some fine young players coming through so I reckon a premiership will come sooner rather than later. :)

i really hope so Sully, i really do.
god after so long it would be such a sweet premiership, especially if it was won like the way Penrith did this year, in such a fairy tale and gutsy way
