Agreed. Parra lay all over us in the first half and were offside constantly. There should have been 2 sin-bins for professional fouls after Sharks breaks (where's Shayne Hayne when you need him) - not to mention all the calls he gave against us.

You can look at the scoreline in the second half and say it doesn't matter - but it does change the game when you have 3 massive props lying all over your players for 40 minutes.

It's not just Lyon. The whole bloody lot of them seem to be totally inadequate. The NRL has a damned hide to fine detractors of their performance.
Maybe they are like the old women in the legend of Perseus who shared an eye between them. From some of the rulings, or lack thereof, it would appear that the top seven share one brain between them.
ET and Deano have nailed it for mine. I believe the refereeing errors in the first half changed the whole complex of the game.

Parra were offside the whole first half. Hindmarsh doesn't know how to get square either.

But the boys didn't show Parra any respect and were looking at the top 6 and now they will be lucky to make the top 8.

Not changing the fact the we played poorly but I agree the terrible refering chnaged the whole game. Parra we allowed to lay all over us in the play the ball slowing us down illegally and preventing us form playing how we should be entitled to play. This couple with the markers not being square and parra being offside all not didnt help our cause. We did however play terrible and defend very poorly letting in a a number of soft tries.

Sure the ref was shyte, but why didn't we adapt our game to his style. He wasn't penalising Parra for offside or slowing the play the ball down, so we should have followed suit.

In a perfect world, I agree. But the refs are like players - there are good ones and there are bad ones. And even the good ones have bad games sometimes.

Its hard to expect us to start playing where we slow the play of the ball down etc when only months ago we had to train to stop doing that! Id prefer we dont change back to those days of 10 : 1 penalty counts. NO matter what, the ref was annoying, but we didnt turn up. If we did, even a penalty count largely against us still shouldnt have meant we lost by that much!
