Without further ado, here is the 2012 Top 17 1st Grade NRL team according to RLW..

1. Darious Boyd
2. James McManus
3. Junior S'au
4. Timana Tahu
5. Akulia Uate
6. Kurt Gidley
7. Jarrod Mullen
8. Kade Snowden
9 Danny Buderus
10. Evarn Tuimavave
11. Neville Costigan
12. Chris Houston
13. Zeb Taia

14. Joel Edwards
15. Matt Hilder
16. Richie Fa'aose
17. Wes Naiqama

RLW had it right for 2011 - If you remember - and we suffered for not putting on the best team..

Are they right for this year..??

I have reservations..Not a fan of Boyd, but since he's in love with Bennett and can't live without him, we have and and that's pretty much that..

Will Bedsy struggle ala Orford - I dont think so, but Í really do wish him well and hope he's up to it...

Looks like a good team, no doubt there's NSW Cup and Toyota Cup players ready to step up when and if required..

I still think Wes should be our first picked centre because of his form before his injury and that Sau and Tahu should compete for the other.

and it's a toss of a coin to decide Wes/Tahu/Sau as our best two centre options - whoever trains best.

I've heard Snowden's back injury is pretty serious.

Personally I'd shift Costigan into the front row and one of Hilder/Edwards to lock with Taia obviously going into the second row.

Forward pack would look something like:

8. Snowden
9. Buderus
10. Costigan
11. Taia
12. Houston
13. Edwards

14. Hilder
15. Tuimavave
16. Fa'aoso
17. Mckinnon/Cook/Laurie/Cuthbertson/Sims

Guess a lot depends on how successful Buderus's return is though, at the start of the season the safer option might be to play Stig on the bench so Gidley can move to hooker if needed. Hilder really shouldn't be playing more than 20 mins at dummy half imo. He's a good option to give Buderus a break but that should be all, his best position is in the backrow.

Isn't it great we don't have a polarising figure such as whatsisname - that's how forgettable he was - to create disharmony in the forum..

No need for making fun of disabled kids like Perverse was allowed to do this time last year..

Feels warm and fuzzy...

The firstgrade top 17 looks good, much better than last year, but it's also great we can probably go very close to naming a team of firstgraders in reserve.

Pete Mata'utia
Kev Naiqama
Filipo
Wes Naiqama
Likiliki
Roberts
Stig
Tetevano
??????
Lawrie
Rochow
McKinnon
Cuthbertson

all played firstgrade last year or the year before.

Where is perverse actually, havent seen a post from him in a while come to think of it.

I guess I agree it's probably our strongest line-up based on name power.

I think Daine Laurie will quickly become a regular.

That's how I'd go as well. Like the look of it.

It's a shame that snowdens injury is still being talked about as being serious. I have a feeling we aren't going to see him at his full potential for atleast 2012, maybe longer.

Other than the cloud over snowdens injury, am I right in saying that all our other players will be 100% fit come round 1? I can't remember the last time we had an off season with so few injuries, and the injuries and surgeries we have had this season have been somewhat minor. What this creates is competition to break into the first grade side which means that all players have to be at their best to keep a spot in the team.

Looks to me like Wes' "utility" value is being over compensated....... Should be in the centres.

OT, CB you still dont think any of your posts are trolling??

Oh he's thrown bait Big Tim. Plenty of bait. The fish aren't biting though. Very mature from forumites.
