If he goes there, I think Sele has had really bad advice. I don’t see how he can play wide, that would be Capewell, Nikora or Sorensen and they have two forwards there already waiting for Gallen to move on. Now it’s 2020, maybe.
There’s two players named Jack Williams there, the forward version looks a good prospect for the position.
Problems I see with Sele staying. If Mann was a bit bigger like Radley or Murray, I doubt many would be debating that positioning. I think it indicates the start of a shift in the lock position moving forward. I would like to see more of Ford and where he will progress towards, but in lieu of having a player like that I like De Belin and Frizell through the middle. Either at the same time or one replacing the other during the game. Sele is a bit too similar. Korbin Sims will change the dynamic also, but we don’t know exactly how they are thinking. It is crucial we play Host, Leilua and Lawrie to start to season. This doesn’t leave much room to move.
I think there are better team options for Sele when you look at starting lock opportunities. I’d be looking at somewhere where they had a couple of big props already and a hooker who defends well, because that would see him protected slightly as he gains experience and fixes his weaknesses.
