So much hate for Hunt. He may not be worth 1 million but if he wasnt in the team we probably would have lost alot more games. He is leading the try assists in the comp so he cant be that bad... I hope he does move on so we can go in another direction as we havent had the results we wanted over the years. However, blaiming him is wrong. We have had crap coaches and average footballers in the team. We need to replace a few players to get success. Removing Hunt alone will do nothing..

He is leading the try assists because he demands the ball 3 or 4 plays in every set. He doesn't allow our other players makers any opportunity to show what they can do. He is a very good footballer who should take a backseat occasionally and let someone else try something. We wouldn't be so predictable and Benny would ONLY have good games like he does in Origin. I think the pressure to DO EVERYTHING has affected his form. Whenever he hasn't played, our halves have performed extremely well. We play more like a Team when he isn't there. And I've always been a Ben Hunt fan. The last 2 seasons he has played as a very selfish individual.

Dragons will only complete a deal for Hunt if they can obtain a player or players of equal value. Also, it mightn’t necessarily be a half, just someone who the Dragons need to make the team better. There might be a 3rd team involved. It’s just tougher for Shane Flanagan as he doesn’t have a competent GM or recruitment/retention person to help him.

Love the quote from the article

Hunt has been linked with the Titans for over 12 months and his mooted transfer appeared to have been scuppereda at the start of the season as he smoked the peace pipe with the Dragons following Flanagan’s arrival as coach”

I think Flano and Hunt smoked the peace pipe to death.
Lucky it has been left to Deano to play the bag pipe to march Benny out the door.
Well done DEANO

Yep we are after 1-2 middles, 1 backup half, 1 half (if we lose hunt) and 1 outside back.. we dont have all those spots freed up currently, but if the Titans/Dolphins could fill 1-2 of those positions.. we could make it work..

But it has to be someone half decent.. cant be someone in reserve grade.. and that means they need someone whos interested in leaving.. im not sure how that conversation goes down exactly.. go down a list and see who is secretly keen to leave..

Not rumours but watching the pennies and Rorters. Klein in the last 10 minutes and the first 10 of the second gave the Rorters three penalties and three set restarts. Rumour is it is very suss
Say what you like Penrith deserved to win but
At 24-10 Rorters had a try disallowed for a forward pass that was fine
It would if been 24-14 or 16 and crushed any chance of a comeback

in my opinion that review was a win win for us. Either hunt will want out and try and get his manager to force a swap deal, or he doesnt get out and is forced to pull his finger out next year and play for a contract elsewhere. Either way helps the club. Players when coming off contract always start killing it, i remember Leeson Ah-Mau did nothing for us for a few years then when contract time was up starting rampaging everyone, I distinctly remember him putting Paul Gallen on his arse.
Players coming off contract usually play well to get an extension or a good contract elsewhere. So, when it comes to Hunt, I'd drop him to reserve graced after which he will request a release. Our answer should be yes,, if you terminate the current contract without compensation from the Dragons.

Yeah that was a pretty harsh call but I couldn't find any sympathy for the Sombrero Latte Financial Planners when it happened. Game was over after 20 minutes anyway. Penrith were relentless and brutal in that first half and I felt like they had things under control in the second half too despite possession turning around for the Roosters.

He was good for us, unfortunately my lasting memory of him was him being stripped one on one to allow Reynolds a piss easy field goal.
Secure the ball dude.
Yeah thats my lasting memory of him too. I thought he just dropped it cold though?
Either way we lose because he hands possession over and also because Souffs had a halfback who knew how to win games in the closing moments. And we had Ben "Marquee" Hunt.
Swap halfbacks that game and we win.
