Flanno has used Feagai only sparingly since taking the Coaching role (mostly on account of injuries to better candidates) and I think we'll see the same this year.
Feagai has improved a little with an uptick in his power running but watching him last week shows he's still clueless in defence.
I still can't believe we were unable to secure a couple of quality backs for 2026, it's not like they're rare and we could easily have promised them starting jerseys for the wings at the very least. It's baffling.

Tu and Fale may well turn out to be quality and we all hope they do but the fact is and I think the point kitt66 was trying to make, which I agree with, is how did we fail to attract any proven quality outside backs...

They have had up to 4 months to get these right
CT in particular , heavily strapped and an obvious risk going forward
Lets just pick players who are 100% fit and ready to go , esp at the start of the Season

CT had a negative impact on 3 occasions where he either pulled out during the warm up or broke down early in the match Dragons lost all 3 of those games as there were no wingers available for the game. If his hamstring is not 100% then don't bring him anywhere near first grade. He should be bought back via the reggies now.

Certainly in 2025 I was pretty cranky CT getting selected without any games after his injuries when we had other options.. SFinau in particular.. felt like if he cant play a game of NSWCup without getting injured again.. then hes not worth the gamble.. even with the new extended bench, losing a winger is not good.. it leaves you with a 3-man bench and only 7 subs for the game... if he was a rep winger.. maybe you take the risk.

That said I think he will play Round 1, Vegas I think will be a struggle for us, its finals intensity, and most of the squad has never played finals footy. Thats why I think CT is there.. Fale/Tu have 1 game of NRL between them.. absolute rookies.. but.. I think once we get home, all bets are off... I would say Feagai will be the extended bench player who covers 1 through 5.

News on the inside from eels that a deal to allow lomax back in the nrl is that he will be on a possible swap deal with sloan .
Both clubs are in talks as Dragons released lomax to parra while he had 2 more years on his previous contract . But why we dont need more drama after hunt and lomax wanted out of the club still under contracts.
Would be a good deal only if we move on sloan for 2026.

As far fetched as what it seems, I think if Lomax came back to the Dragons, it would be on our terms.
Probably a 2 year deal, allowing him to go to the R360 competition if it gets up and running in 2028.
Plus the swap for Sloan would be a terrific bonus for us.
That said, at this stage it just appears to be another one of those way out there rumours.
