Lol there it is.
Yes just like when you said you were 'told' in the last pre season Mbye would play fullback to start the year off and Bird five eighth. Who played fullback and five eighth in our first game last year again?

BTW you love having a dog at Mbye any chance you get don't ya? Did he shag your Mrs or something mate?

Love how you're basing it off a 15 second clip on channel ten, irrational much?
The full quoted interview is on the NRL website/app, I'd suggest you have a read to maybe get an understanding of what was actually said by Mbye himself on the matter.
Wow, you sound really irritated 🙂

Mate, if you don’t think Mbye will feature heavily again under Hook then you have a rude shock coming. He started fullback, hooker, centre this year for most the season. He will be preferred over the young blokes again next season, a leopard doesn’t change its spots, Hook is still the coach.
For me, he didn’t really feature ‘heavily’ last year and when he did he did ok. Liddle will be starting hooker and Mbye may get a bench spot depending on what hook has in mind. Fullback was because sloan was pretty much dog shit and had a poor attitude in ressies, centre because feagai was injured etc

So if Liddle and Mbye are the hookers, where do you reckon Sullivan plays?
Will he have to play reserve grade until someone gets injured or Hunt retires?
I think we need to get him playing NRL.

That is the quandry. I would think from Sullivan’s about face on leaving he’s been told he will get more game time this year. To me likely means at 14. Maybe then Mbye and Liddle will battle it out pre season for the starting 9. Wondering also how Sloan gets more game time. I wonder how Rava has recovered from his end of year injury. Maybe a wing spot for Tyrell… it’s a long off season!

Will the Dragons sign Bown for the recruitment/pathways job?

Will they do a deal with Hasler before the season start?

Will the Dragons sign a marquee edge forward before the season start?

An answer of yes to all three of the above questions would see the plight of the Dragons turn around and firmly place them in the top 8 of the competition.

So why not do this? We do have the salary cap and the opportunity.

If the Dragons do not sign a marquee edge forward, it could be that the following selections are made to accommodate Sloan in the team:
1. Sloan
3. Ramsey
11. Suli

However, Suli did so well in the world cup at 3. Hopefully, Griffin took note of how Suli should be used at 3.

Re Sullivan I think that liddle will start at 9 and Hunt will be the 7 and Bud will be the 14 when liddle needs a break Hunt will shift to hooker and Bud will play half , that’s what I would do BUT what would I know ??
Where is Mbye, i think Mbye will be in the 17 somewhere, Liddle, Sullivan Mbye one has to miss out, can't carry 2 of them on the bench, Mbye gives you more options on the bench , Liddle is a purely a hooker, Sullivan Halves and Hooker.

Licking my lips at the prospect of two Tigers discards fighting it out for the 9 while the Australian hooker and a 21 year old dynamo play elsewhere.

Not to mention they'll be about 3 quality forwards short to help with the go forward.

3rd year in and Griffin still clearly has no ability to achieve what is best for our team.

Other selections in my 17 given the players we now have:
9. Hunt
14. MBye

Liddle to work his way up from reserve grade.

Mbye can cover many positions, 1, 3, 7, and 9. So he is the ideal 14 who can come on if any of our 'experimental players struggle to step up.

So without the new recruits that I am sure will happen, my suggested team for the early rounds is:
1. Sloan or Ramsey
2. Matt Feagai
3. Ramsey or Suli
4. Lomax
5. Ravalawa
6. Amone
7. Sullivan or Hunt
8. F Molo
9. Hunt or Sullivan
10. Musgrove or a new prop
11. Suli or a new edge forward
12. Su'A
13. Bird

14. Mbye
15. De Belin
16. Lawrie
17. M Molo

I've seen enough from Hunt, Suli, and Su'A, to realize that these players can be used much better than they have been used at the Dragons in the past. Let's hope Griffin has been watching them play in the world cup.

It looks like Canberra have done well with the recruitment of Maguire to their coaching staff. He sure has lifted NZ's game. I believe the appointment of Hasler (head coach) and Brown could do the same for the Dragons.

I think it will start with Liddle 9 and Mbye 14. Bud may well come into the 14 at some point during the year. I don't mind Mbye at all, I think he gets a bad wrap on here undeservedly at times. He fills in and does his job admirably. However, with the utility value that Bird holds, if we sign a couple of decent forwards, then we can always shuffle Bird around and so Mbye may not necessarily be required ahead of Bud. Anyway, i'm sure they have a plan regarding Sullivan's development as that has been laid out to him now.

Agree...Mbye gave us great value last season , but would like to see him settle say at 9 .Thinking Liddle will struggle to get past Mbye and Sullivan , and is purely insurance till Mullheison is ready .Only been signed to a 12 month term,
Says it all
Desperately need the signing of a heard nosed prop and back rower

For the record the guy who said Mbye f**ked crushes missus took it too far, no need to say dumb shit like that
And well done to Crush for a measured response- he was entitled to lose it after a nasty sledge like that.
Like most posters on this site, I enjoy the parry and thrust of a good debate about our beloved club- but ultimately, we're brothers (and maybe a few sisters as well) in arms united by a common passion for the Dragons and if we're not respectful to our own (extended) family, who will we be respectful to?

Hunt will NEVER play 9 under Griffin. Plain & simple. Suli does not have the work ethic to play second row. de Belin has to be in the starting side he’s our best defender….
