Faalago? Has a lot to learn in defence, he isnt afraid of contact though, he hits hard.. but we would have to re-live a lot of the Sloan pain all over again...

However.. the kid is almost untacklable when he runs.. absolute excitement machine.. I dont think Flanno will chase him though.. but if hes on the market due to Wishart/Papa staying.. maybe..

I dont rly care anymore, I just want more talent and to spend our cap..I do think the Gutho rumour makes more sense in terms of a Flanno defensively minded signing.. but he or parra might not be interested...... Faalago probably isnt either.. unfortunately its like that for us.. we chase lots of guys we want.. but we cant get em.. we may end up with plan J... but atleast its a plan.

Gutho would be a good signing, as you said helps Sloan learn, especially the little 1%, Sloan hasn't had anyone to learn from or not had any competition, Ramsey medical issues and Allen injury, never had any pressure on him, the only thing that Sloan has over Gutho is pace..

Seems to be a common trend. Excellent attack, suspect in defence, errors galore. Sloan, Faolongo, Walsh all come to mind.

Yes and Sorenson knew he stuffed it and ALL the commentators realised it, there was a long uncomfortable pause, and then changed the subject. I can't believe that not one of the commentators questioned it. The whole incident smacked of "Nothing to see here" move along.

On a different note.....is anybody experiencing an annoying new thing on this sight that when you click on the "St George" link/button or some of the other links, you open up ads. I know that we need ads to fund the sight, but this is probably one of the more annoying ways to introduce ads.

Fa'alogo is exciting to watch at times sure, but he isn't actually that good. Just catches the eye because he's very flashy. Defence is terrible, from what I can gather lacks much understanding of what's required in a game (either that or he's just busy lairing it up). You're not just gonna hand him the fullback jersey, especially for the money he'll look for. Someone like the Tigers or Warriors might be dumb enough to pay him what he wants despite severely lacking in a lot of areas, hopefully not us.

Then fans will complain he isn't flashy or doesn't have attacking skills. There's hardly any fullbacks with both, it's one or the other. I'd rather take defence & run meters over attacking skills.

no doubt will be an exceptional talent, if he wants to play FB what happens to Sloan ? Is he better than Sloan at FB ?

I would argue that Sloan doesn't offer a whole lot either side of the ball his support play is poor i saw a number of times this year breaks getting made & he wasn't in the frame to put himself in a position to score very frustrating i was no fan of Dufty but he at least looked like he was trying.

I am thinking the Dogs will keep him.

Simple fix for signing/retention and all other problems with our once great club.
Just replace Webb and Chairman Lancaster with Dragons fan Vlandys.
We can dream that perhaps one day he may want to slow down and get himself a real job ha ha

Just because it is not in the media does not mean there is plenty going on.
Will say it again.
Preseason training starts for many clubs over the next several weeks.
There will be a burst of signings news across the NRL soon enough.
With JAC, who really knows??
Could be staying with the Dogs, off to the UK or a new NRL club.
We will all find out soon enough.
