I don't rate Illias at all hopefully we sign Hastings or Doueli as back up cause it's not going work out.

There are two ways to invest: to play to win and to play not to lose. In choosing Ilias over Douehi they have taken the cautious path, perhaps scared off by Douehi's injury history even though he is the better player.

But there is such a thing as being too risk averse and that is what this looks like to me. Ofc, if they chose Douehi and he did another knee, it would be bad and we would have to call on Marschke again. But I would have risked it.

If he is indeed ours then we support him and give him every opportunity to succeed.

Whether he is stop gap or not, if he is wearing our 7 then he is a big part of our team.

I for one will be hoping he does well and adds value to the team.

Either that or some power club will lock him up as soon as he becomes available. We don’t seem to have luck with timing a lot of time.

I mean he's played 21 games in 4 seasons. He's been a back up at the Sharks for 3. Sure he played well this year - I dont mean to bag him, but clubs haven't been lining up for him & he's been a reserve grader.

I think Doueihi best position is centre, but I also thought Kyle at 7 with him at 6 was potentially a nice mix. Kyle and Ilias more similar to each other.
Anyway, if we could off load Rav (we are stuck with Blake) we could get Doueihi as well based on his and Ilias price.
