SHOOSH I
Which highly-regarded sports official has had a second interview for the Dragons chief executive job. If he gets offered the position, it will be a popular appointment. He is a shrewd operator.
I believe this is referring to Tim Watsford (Supercars COO, CEO of NT Major Events & also had a role with the NRL & maybe even rugby union before that).

I am another forum member who feels that the Flaano Jr suspension was a serious issue for the side over the last 4 games of the season. His work rate and effectiveness in defence was sorely missed. His suspension unsettled the defensive line.

Our team needed all hands on deck to be competitive against any side in 2024.

No one is suggesting Flanno Jr is a better individual player than Hunt. He is however a better team player.

Ilias is going to play to his strengths. He will not attempt to be Hunt. Nor should he.

SF will set up the side in attack completely differently now that Hunt is gone. I don’t believe there is any point in comparing Ilias to Hunt.

Hunt demanded and received virtually all the ball last season.

Ilias and Flanno Jr will steer the side around with input from Cook and Gutho in particular.

Defensively I believe our side will be much stronger in 2025.

I lost count of the number of critical mistakes Hunt made in the last 4 games, from throwing intercepts to missing one on one tackles. Berating young players. Rather than lift the team, he often weighed it down.
I am not proceeding any comparison between K F v Hunt

I have several posts in other threads supporting Ilias and espousing the theory the team will be better for having no Hunt.

I have actually posted that LF & L I whilst not fast will manoeuvre the team around the field by thinking what’s the best play whereas Hunt couldn’t think at all snd never manoeuvred us around the field so the new combination will be an improvement.

I am not convinced we make the 8 if K F plays the last 4 games on the basis that Hunt was the captain and still in the team and the negativity of Hunt would outweigh any positive K F might bring to the team

Now if you asked me if Marschke & K F were the halves the last 4 games then I would say that combination had a far greater chance of making the 8.

As I said before we will no soon enough if no Hunt and having K F back (some insist he would have made the difference) will get this team performing better.

How any of these others see that as me being negative about S F is ridiculous.

Interpret it as you all want.

my interpretation is that last year is was about body shape and fitness.
yhis year it’s more hands on about play style, and has to since we lost our half back and the guy responsible for most try assists. We need to significantly change the way we play.

i don’t “know” that’s what he meant, but it’s my interpretation.

either way, I agree with Crush, best thing to happen to the team since bennet. (And that doesn’t mean I agree with everything, I just see a plan and a move, ent towards team and pride in the redV
Thank god we have a coach who is not perfect (like some Flanno doomsayers are insinuating and hoping he fails to say they were always right) and admitted where he could of done better, not like his predecessors.
All Flanno acknowledged was he will need to be more in the players face next year where this year he let the coaches deal or address things bit more as part of their roles, whilst (not sitting back doing nothing nor not give 100%) in his first year gauge and get to know his squad he is growing and building and who will be part of it and basically how to deal with certain individuals. If that is a failing of a coach in his 1st year I can live with it.
And Yes unfortunately bit more handling and still a lot of recruitment stuff (daily) due to staff illness earlier and as a coach you live and die by the sword.
By early-mid 2026 if we are still struggling so will Flanno to continue a HC role. Simple

Yep his name came up when names first were trotted out. Time will tell
Part of me hopes it is someone who has league nous at NRL level..but will give anyone decent a shot.
I did not ever think Webby had the runs on the board for what we needed and dealing with our BOD

FMD yet another one who can’t follow the bouncing ball and ends up completely misconstruing the post.

This has nothing to do with S F but everything to do with people’s thoughts and posts on Hunt & K F.
The rugby league ball bounces erratically and it is virtually impossible to catch unless you keep your eyes fixed upon it, which I think is a good analogy for this forum.

I am keen on having Leluia and perhaps Suli on one side and Holmes and perhaps Sua on the other with Kyle, Ilias, Liddle, Cook, and Gutho as both runners and link men. So many points of attack. I am sure Sloan would enjoy playing behind so many running offloaders if he got a chance.
Exactly that will be the point of difference this time. Team attack rather than Bunt attack !!

Outstanding easily the best idea you have ever had You should finish on this post and get back to yelling at clouds
Maybe you should watch some replays and learn a bit more about the game.

You seem to be yet another “as long as we did better than when Hook was here” supporter.

Beating what Hook achieved (not much if anything) or what the media muppets predict (lol) is hardly a great endorsement or outcome so to not beat a Hook outcome means it’s a Hook like result and I’ll keep protesting until we do far better than that especially when it’s a seasoned premiership winning coach who is been lauded by plenty.

The old man yelling at clouds comment is probably why Bellyache is so successful because he yells at everything until he gets the outcome he wants.

So by all means you keep on being mute and if / when it turns to shit then say something as for me I’ll follow the Bellyache route thanks very much.
