Leo Thompson is very similar in size and body shape to most of our props. Shorter for a prop and stocky like Francis Molo, Lawrie, Sele. Feel like we need a proper big powerhouse prop who can make more metres. There's just none available and we obviously missed out on Fonua-Blake, Campbell-Gillard, Daniel Saifiti, etc. I'm hoping Viliami Fifita can be more destructive because he's big. Loko Tonga will be introduced eventually but we just need an experienced big damaging prop.

I can't see us paying overs for thommo, we would have to rly outdo the other clubs to be considered.. Also a 2026 signing, I dont think any chance to dislodge this one given he's part of their starting 17.

Money and cap space is not a problem for Saints, we need to clear a position off our top 30 to fit Thompson in and still keep one position to include a junior who has stepped up. Our pack of forwards desperately needs Thompson and or Lodge.

Agree the team needs a forward leader, but it won’t be either of these 2.
