What? What’s Mary getting up to?
He’s mentioned by Cook or Gutho in the captaincy interviews as being present when Flanno bestowed the honour.

He might have handed over the badge or whatever they get.

But it’s a solemn and historic occasion and Uncle Fester was at the heart of the proceedings.

On the day he was sacked, the only certainly was a return in some capacity. This was one of the general insights by the panel here.

This is just before everyone re-iterated that adverse comments were in humour so we wouldn’t get sued.

And so too, I don’t think Albert’s days in the Sun are over, despite him putting the good name of the club on the line for his mate.

Some lines must never be crossed.

Re Molo, what I personally find a bit bizarre is that he now wants a release. I don't know his situation. I'm not going to draw conclusions. But asking for extended leave for mental health AND asking for a release is a bit strange, isn't it? Sounds like Ben a bit but ofc I'm not assuming that it's the same situation. I'll give Frank the benefit of the doubt unless proven otherwise

Was exactly my thoughts. If it’s genuinely mental health issues you take paid leave and seek help surely.

It is funny how often players will sign a two year contract and then six months later they want out. F. Molo resigned for two years last April. Hunt also pulled this stunt.

Could it be that a player might sign a contract "just in case" with the idea that contracts are toilet paper if you put on enough of a tantrum?

There needs to be specified penalty clauses for failing to complete a contract. This kind of thing is very unsettling and inconvenient for us while a player can do a backflip, tell a sad story, and not drop a dollar.

I hope he hasn't gone down that path, beacuse if that's what Frank is thinking, with due respect to him, he needs to reassess how valuable he actually is to most teams. Ben Hunt agitated to a disgusting extent and even though all of US knew he wasn't a halfback nor a captain, he was able to attract plenty attention from multiple other clubs because there's no doubt he is a talented player, irrespective of our reservations of him. Molo does not have the same bargaining power at all and in my opinion was very lucky he got re-signed in the first place.

I’d think there are consequences, but Flanno doesn’t want a whinger.

You’re part of the club or you’re nothing as far as Flanno is concerned.

I think keeping Bunt on for so long (for no good reason) taught Flanno and the club a few harsh lessons and they’ve toughened up.

I know us tigers fans were shocked you kept him. I’d guess there was a civil war going on about him that was kept under wraps. Wasn’t he getting booed at home?

A player wants to be cretin, get rid of him. Molo is another piker.

I remember we signed Corey Payne and then a few weeks later you signed Jarrod Saffy from us. I told my Saints supporting mate at the time 'You have no idea how much you won this trade.'

I'd watched Saffy from his first trial after we signed him from union. He was very raw, but you could tell by his frame, athleticism and most importantly physicality he was going to make it in league. Its just a shame it wasnt with us.
Nathan Lawson I think will replicate and better the Saffy's signing from Yawnion......we as Dragons fans will just have to be patient as we were with Mick O'Conner.

Behind Slippery Stevie Morris, Blacklock, and Walford he was my fave. FCKU manly for stealing him from us, it broke my heart once again at the time.

They are all champions, X factor players.

Lawson going to have to acclimatise to significant pain, suffering and anguish.

If I was transitioning union players to league, I would have to work on raising their short term pain thresholds under medical supervision with constant engagement with the player.

It sounds sadistic, but league is up another level of brutality.

I’ve knew a guy who gave up being a Steelers junior after he noticed his foot wanted to remove itself from his leg as he got off the bus.

On the Tigers forum, @Vic Mackey and I are avid proponents for trying to make the game safer for players without losing the ethereal physicality etc.

he’ll be interesting to watch. I would err in the side of caution though. He may have the speed, skill, athleticism of a winger, but the physicality wingers need is a different beast to 30 years ago. Making 15 dirty hit ups a game takes a toll on your body.

Will Warbrick had a similar back ground and had an entire year in qld cup before they threw him into NRL. Warbrick is also considerably bigger and was 3 years younger than Lawson is.

we tried a few union guys the last couple of year. John Grant who was ‘the fastest man in league/union’ and Aussie 7s star Jesse Parahi. Both had all the physical attributes to make it but their bodies couldn’t handle the physical demands on our game.

There was a good point earlier that Molo should have done the right thing by the Dragons and at the very least, pressed for his release in October.

It is a bit selfish to fool around with the dragons planning and force them into taking unnecessary risks.

A lot of players have been signed and retained over the off season, the dragons could well have done with. So a string of lost opportunities. It’s not right.

Whatever is said about Lodge, I think his regret and contrition is genuine. He didn’t hesitate helping and paying out his victims.

Not like Junior Amone who in his last interview said nothing about his victims, showed no remorse but played the victim.

Im still a bit iffy about Lodge back in the game as a whole. Regardless of club.

The difference with Nathan Lawson, is when he was playing 15 a side Union in Shute Shield, he was a forward, a lock in fact (Second row for those playing along at home).

So he should be a little more acclimatised to doing grunt work than most outside backs in Union.

An article on code nrl behind a paywall saying that the dragons look like losing a promising junior.
Anyone have any idea who?
Absolute media beat up mate. Waste of time reading the article. The “journo” is making Ackers out to be some huge loss if we let him leave. The kid has about a dozen others in front of him and was zero chance of playing nrl in 2025 and probably 2026. Absolute wank of an article to be honest
