At least Blake Lawrie didn't make his usual 3 handling errors as he does every other game. But I guess it's easier to not stuff when you only play about 10 minutes.
To be fair I don't think Lawrie has ever been too bad with his handling. But even if he was, he didn't have enough time for handling errors because he used all his time up taking an eternity to get to his feet after he was tackled.
I trust Flanno will get us there eventually but FMD I can't for the life of me understand how Lawrie gets anywhere near our top 17 players, even with injuries to other players.
Having said that the only front rower who can hold his head up after yesterday was young Toby - he's a real good one and needs more help.

Leilua is in danger of following in his brother's footsteps

I.E. he looks intent of eating himself out of an NRL career

Does he have the same obsession with Oporto Chicken?

He looks like he not only ate a shitload of burgers, but swallowed the whole f**king franchise

Possm has been saying he should be played as a middle and I am thinking maybe he is right. He no longer has the mobility for the edge.

If he doesn't like it, fine. His contract is 3 years, $2.3m, until the end of 2026. That is way over what he is worth but we were desperate. Maybe he could go to superleague for 2026 with Lawrie and we could promote some mobile young guys with better cardio.

Leaving out young guns, these players are some of those who are off contract by end 2026 or earlier.

Lawrie, Ravawala, Hame Sele, Feagai, Cook, JDB, Eisenhuth, BMM, RFM, Leluia, Liddle, Ilias, Sloan, Guler, Klemmer, Su'a (player option for 2027).

That is a pretty miserable list. So much dead wood. Who would you keep?

Signed for 2027. Val, Gutho, KF, Suli.

Again, two years older and not so impressive.

There is going to have to be a clean sweep.

Out of that lot keep Liddle and Sloan, maybe Sua.

Before then, get some (more) NRL experience into the Couchmen, Stewart, Egan, Tsougranis, LPT, Latu, Halangalu, Lui, LKT, Buchanan, Finau, Reed. (There are probably a few more but these guys look likely prospects, lets see how they handle it)

Recruitment will only get harder once Peter V’ Sportsbet gets his extra team and proceeds to bribe them with salary cap concessions.
Hell the game is worse under him. Rule changes . Judiciary MRC a joke
