bro we just need to sign nelson asofa solomona at this point, we need a massive prop
Well I guess you've enjoyed watching us play stuck down the own end of our field for most games for the last 5-6 years then. Because that's what happens when you don't have any front rowers who can dominate the oppostion.Personally, i don't buy into the need for an "alpha prop".
In the end, bluster and posturing is not as important as fitness, skills and game smarts imo.
Jason Nightingale used to do effective first hitups with twists and surges and fast play the balls.
Big Nelson is the perfect example of max bluster and disappointing effectiveness.
If we go into 2026 with a pack of fit, strong athletes and no alpha prop i am all good with that.
This and a big boot.Well I guess you've enjoyed watching us play stuck down the own end of our field for most games for the last 5-6 years then. Because that's what happens when you don't have any front rowers who can dominate the oppostion.
Of course we need an alpha prop.
Halangahu definitely looked the part in his limited minutes at the end of last season he needs a long contract. Looking forward to seeing how he’s progressed when preseason comes around.Halangahu should start round 1 in my opinion. He proved he's already having more of an impact on games than Leilua, he gets through a lot of work and defends well. He's ready. Yes he's young, but there's no reason to hold him back. As long as he has a good pre-season, which by the looks of him is just about a certainty bar injury, he starts on the left edge for me. You can rotate him to the bench with a few less minutes throughout the season if needed. Leilua can start from the bench and if he doesn't pick up his game, he can shake hands with the cup boys til his contract runs out.
Same with Stewart, he's ready to start, but physically I think he definitely will need a bit of rotation throughout the year. We don't really have a back up lock so this needs to be sorted. You can't expect Hamish to play a full season starting at lock just yet. That's why I'm not against bringing in Elliot, even if it is just for a year.
Agree will twiddle our thumbs offers should have already been fired off to managers. We ain’t signing anyone let’s be completely honest
If we have a better kicking game and chase well, they make less metres, kick from further out, our backs make more metres before contact. Sorted.Well I guess you've enjoyed watching us play stuck down the own end of our field for most games for the last 5-6 years then. Because that's what happens when you don't have any front rowers who can dominate the oppostion.

Yes Stewart is our 13 but as JDB seemed to play more minutes at prop last year then I consider that another prop slot to fill.Stewart is a replacement for JDB
*Injuries not withstanding*
Hes our 13
We need a dominant prop. Leilua may have to fill that spot.I think he’ll be fighting it out with one of the Couchman boys for his backrow spot. Important to have 2 people competing for every position. Presumably Egan will be pushing Su’a for the left edge.
In saying that from the little I’ve seen of Halangahu so far he looks like one of the most effective forwards we’ve produced in a very long time so I wouldn’t put it past him to have a break-out season next year and we’d better be ready with the big bucks if he does.
There’s also Nick T so will be interesting to see how he develops.
Stewart goes well in the middle; prop or lock.Stewart is a replacement for JDB

Hes our 13

Leilua to the middle please.
54:55. It's not much, but it's great to hear Luc has been put on notice and is loosing some kegs. He is off contract this year, so expect him to have a decent year at the very least. I personal wouldn't re-sign him (On too much coin for what he's producing), even though I've been a fan of his since his under 20's days, but if Su'a doesn't take up his option then I'd entertain a 1-2 year deal. Wouldn't mind seeing him line up at prop with Toby Couchman to start the year, with Su'a and Halangahu (Egan once fit) at second row.
"Give theIf we are unsuccessful in signing any quality players during this trade window our board need to stand down or all of the supporters need to show their disgust.
It's becoming a joke that most clubs are renewing their roster except ours.
