<u><u>"The Way Rugby League Should Be"</u></u>

That's a quote from Peter Sterling while commentating on the Dogs v Eels match tonight. And I have to agree with him 100%

We saw a tight game with good defence, only broken by great attack. It was tight see-sawing, physical, tribal. It wasn't a blowout and it wasn't a dour struggle. It was once of those games when you said to yourself "is it halftime already".

Sterlo said it should be like this every week- but tonight was too special......I'll savour it until 7 weeks time- when these two goat it all over again on the last Sunday in September, Grand Final Day.

Cheers.

I agree. I thought it was a great game and the players had to work really hard to find an opening. I like the way both teams stuck to their guns right to the end. They are both worthy of a Grand Final berth. The Eels look very impressive at the moment and the Bulldogs are surprising a lot of people with the way they are playing.

yep, spot on hass, tough and hard having to earn every point with the game in the balance right to the end.
real test of character that one. actually found myself disapointed whenfulltime went, wanted more of it.
no wonder the joint was sold out and that game will bring the crowds back next time

One of the best games I've seen all year. Two teams playing well at the same time, what a rare occurance.

Sensational game and sensational atmosphere. What fan could ask for more? The dogs have shown enough to me they will be the only side to challenge Parra for the title. Thye may not have the best players in any one position but they play as a team, as do Parra and that has shown to be the major factor in the success of these two sides. Brisbane, Cronulla and Newcastle have shown that when one key player goes down, the team does not handle the abscence of that player very well. Case in point was Newcastle tonight who held a 24 point lead and crumbled without their maestro. That could be a turning point in their seasona lthough they will probably still get a home semi but I doubt they will finish second now, so they will have to play a couple of semis away from home where they don't have their fortress to protect them. What a great end to the season though!!!!
