Apart from the coach who will hopefully get the chop this week, this is a list of players at Parra who will not improve as footy players and who will never in there life times win a premiership because of the talent factor and are just wasting our money.

Wagon
Vella
Hopkins
Peek
Peterson
Burt
Langi
Wise
Muspratt
Moriss
Widders
Fui
Dykes

There may be a few more but lets get serious we cant win the Premiership with these players as we all know so why Keep them. Lets run with the Juniors that we have in prem league and Jersey flegg and get ready for next year as this year is written off.

thats fine.

but not all the juniors will rise to the occasion and we will have to suffer for a few years such as Penrith did to get the benefits.

I really don't think we have the patience for that at the moment.

I'd hold on to the above if we had a new coach. I think Dykes is really being hampered by what seems to be Smith's unwillingness to let the players play their natural games. Yes Dykes runs sideways, he's looking for runners, but we have no runners because he's the only one in the team playing football. His sideways running wouldn't be a problem if he had people hitting gaps. His style of play is not suited to the rest of the teams current state. He's a smart player who'd find the runners if they were there. Then again we have Thorman, Witt and Smith. All of which could be great, none of which have proved it. I'd keep Dykes for now (with a new coach) All of the above players could be great if given the go ahead to actually play football. Don't forget that Vella was one of the most effective metre gainers in the comp up til 2001. It seems that pretty much everyone in the side lost form at the same time, excluding Hindmarsh. They seems to have all had enough, they've been mentally destroyed by the coach.

I disagree. Just look at the performances this year of Andrew Ryan, Willie Tonga & Brett Hodgson to name a few. These guys were underperforming under Brian Smith and look at them now. As Nikki aluded to in another thread, Brian has his way of cutting down a players confidence and I think Brett Hodgson is a perfect example. Smith had a big fall-out with Hodgson last year and it obviously affected his performances at the club. He couldn't wait to leave and look at him now, he's in the best form since 2001 and looks to be getting better and better with each game.

All i'm saying is, under a new coach, each player should be given a clean slate and an opportunity to prove themselves with no favouritism or bias shown.

I think if we get rid of the coach, some of those players may perform a bit better. Some of the veterans especially, Vella, Wagon etc. I would keep Morris, Burt, Hopkins, Wagon, and Vella

I would keep em all bar Petersen and Burt they are as weak as shit and should be running around in the Jim Beam Cup.

Just get rid of Smith like right now.

We have a glaring weakness in the 3/4's and way too many back-rowers so if you are going to cut players you should be looking at guys like; Wagon, Hopkins, Widders, Muspratt etc. Players like O'Dwyer and Mateo could easily fill that gao and we would have more than enough cash to bring-in some quality to the outside backs. Aside from the above, Petersen and Burt are a waste of space.

I think Widders is a good runner of the football, i dont see why you would get rid of a bloke who can split the opposition defence? All of my mates who love footy admire Widders cause he tests the defence and can offload the ball (too bad Smithy doesnt teach our players to run off widders (or off any other front rower, maybe one the offloads would actually find a player and score a try or two?) :?

Did you see Widders' game on friday? That was the most ineffectual attacking performance from a forward i've seen in years. He was terrible. Like some of the others he has potential, but he doesn't show it anywhere as often as he should. It's all good to say he can break the line, but it's no use if he doesn't.

It is probably easier to list the names of players who should stay.

1.Hindmarsh
2.Grothe
3.? 4.? 5.? 6.?

Not many i'm completely convinced about. I recon the picture will be clearer in another 2mths.

Even though we may have an abundance of players who put in, a bloke like gus gould can simply see through the club. A SOO coach would not coment on the lack of talent at the club unless he really mean't it.
And he ain't no Ray Hadlee when it comes to telling stories!

Stay
Hindmarsh, McKinnon and Grothe (if he can learn how to tackle and catch)

Go
The rest including Smith, Fitzgerald, Reddy, Taylor and anyone else involved in "coaching" (if you can call it that) these "1st grade players" (if you can call them that)

THAT looks like a great side to me!
But you have got to ask yourself why are'nt they firing???
I bet if they had someone like John Lang as there coach you would be doing alot better.
I think the problem is Brian has just run out of idea's.That's what happens when you have had a great side for years and nothing has come to fruition.Parra need a new coach & Brian need's a new club.

I am really hoping that Parra gets Cartwright and Orford!

I like Fuifui Moimoi, he just needs more time playing footy in PL and FG. Its tough for guys as strong as Fui, their muscles are fast twitched which doesnt help when it comes to endurance. Maybe he is better suited to American football?

no need for Orford really Thorman/Witt will be a very good combination so unless you want to A) Make reggies better B) Send M.Witt to Newcastle

I can't see why you would bother with Orford

Parra need centres. & fit forwards
