See this movie.

Mickey Rourke is just as transfixing as Heath Ledger was as the Joker — he really makes the role his own.

I am eagerly anticipating the release of this film in Australia and cannot wait to see it on the big screen.

When I heard about this project early on in the piece and heard that Nicholas Cage was going to be involved I thought it was going to be a bomb. However, with Rourke and what everyone is saying he has pulled off acting-wise.....and Marisa Tomei, of course......the movie is shaping up to be something worth going to the cinema for.

Cannot wait, anyone know the official Australian date for release?

Really interested in seeing this one as well.
Read a review from ESPN columnist Bill Simmons who said it was brilliant.

Mikey Rourke is my favourite. If you get the chance, see his other flicks like "Angel Heart", "Year of the Dragon", "Bullet" and the guilty pleasure "Harley Davidson and the Malboro Man".

Angel Heart is one of my all time favourites ... a great movie. Shall definitely be seeing this new one.

Mate, most of this current generation would not have even heard of "Angel Heart". Very underrated movie.

I caught a bootleg of this last night and loved it.

So completely different from The Fountain and Requiem, but still extremely well made. Aronofsky is just a brilliant filmmaker.

i agree azzah.

started off good, but then went downhill, such as, with the stripper, it was like they were running out of a story with it and just decided to end it before they made it even worse.

I'm a little different, i wasn't minding the story with the stripper because she almost had a similar story with the getting old and not being able to be as successful as she once was, and i liked her interactions with Randy.

I guess i kinda just wanted to see the end result, i wanted him to either resolve or crumble but you don't know what happened because of where it stopped, leaves it to the imagination i suppose, i don't mind that if it was a sequal type of movie but it isn't, so we'll never know. He could of died hitting the ram jam for all we know, guess i just wanted to see what happened. i think an extra 15-20 mins could of helped but perhaps they didn't because they didn't have a finish complimenting the rest of the film. I dunno, It's a good 7/10 movie, lots of good scenes.

And anyone who knows wrestling knows that the indisutry goes hand in hand with that of the stripper world. Also loved the portion with Randy and the ring rat. Things like that really add to the realism of the film, because indy wrestling is incredibly sleezy.
