Things that worry me for the finals

We've done really well coping with the injuries we've had over the back half of the regular season - but there are a few areas that really worry me looking ahead to the finals:

1) Our kicking game - our long kicking game sucks, our short kicking game/repeat sets have gone backwards - the only area that's working are Nicho's bombs near the tryline. Definitely need to improve this for the finals.

2) Jesse's brain explosions - how many times will he shoot out 10 metres past the ball and get lost like a clueless puppy ? The top coaches & halfbacks are going to exploit this. Not to mention Jessie's dumb penalties - they will cost us in the big games.

3) Our attack really needs WK to get some fluency back - fingers crossed he is fit and firing for Week 1.

4) Emperor's new clothes - our left edge needs Wilton starting, our best games this year have been with Teig starting. Fitz has done really well to manage the Fifi & Tolman situations in a respectful way - but Wade's ego is going to be the biggest challenge to massage. Wade should be on the bench. Yes his experience is still an asset, but our left side is just not threatening or cohesive any more when he's there. Put him on the bench, and bring him on in the middle (or if an edge backrower goes down).

I don't buy the line that Fitz is foxing with our attack, and keeping our powder dry until the finals. Yes our defence had been good (and will be better with Dale & Toby back), but our attack needs tweaking for the finals.

Fitz has stopped the sweep plays has also not fired a shot on anything new in weeks. I’d suggest you may be surprised.

As for Jessie…. FMD what a ticking time bomb he is. What about that dropped ball when he passed to himself last night.

Frenzy.

Everything Omni says is real but we have no control over it.

Therefore, que sera, sera.

My opinion is actually that we have already exceeded expectations. Even if we go bang bang out the back door think of the experience the team has gain. We are a year ahead of the expected Fitz growth.

Just enjoy it… imagine being a tiger or dragon right now. Years from anything good.

Every team has concerns coming into finals, even Penrith.

The fundamentals of the Sharks defence are in place. The team dynamic and cohesion looks strong. They play for each other and the coach. This a strong foundation for performing with the resilience required to deliver under pressure.

In attack it's all about execution. Attention to detail in controlling the ball and the confidence to back their skill. Kennedy is critical to the sweep/slingshot attack with his timing and pass selection. If he is fit and confident it will change how they attack. I suspect, Fitz will look at high tempo especially against the bigger packs. This runs the risk of errors but it's the chance they have to take.

Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Ive enjoyed the ride so far and will continue to do so I think. Rooters look hard to beat at full strength , but JWH and the other Brick must have used up most of their 9 lives, ... As for Victor??!! Holy shite ,they must have to keep him in a cage and feed him raw meat between games . Probably take himself out before the GF if he hasn't already.

Looking at things how the table stands now…. Looks like our route to final options would be;

Week 1 - Beat Cows at home
Week 2 - Bye
Prelim - Against winner of week 2 match between ‘Panther/Storm week 1 loser’ vs Eel/Raiders winner - So essentially, Panthers or Storm
GF - Most likely against Panther/Storm week 1 winner or Roosters

or
Week 1 - Lose to Cows
Week 2 - vs winner of Roosters/Souths
Week 3 - vs Panther/Storm week 1 winner
GF - vs Panther/Storm week 1 loser

Basically, winning week 1 is absolutely essentially if we want to avoid having to go through 3 on the trot of Roosters/Storm/Panthers to win it.

Nothing worries me as we won’t lose another game all year.

Called it a couple months ago. We going all the way to Disneyland babyyyyy.

Having won it in 2016, everything just enjoyment now, no more stress, after 2016 told myself anything else from here on in is just gravy.
