Huge crowd at Kougari Oval for a big afternoon and night of football :

Colts Wynnum Seagulls 22 drew with Ipswich Jets 22

A Grade Wynnum Seagulls 26 defeated Ipswich Jets 22

Qld Cup Wynnum Seagulls 30 defeated Ipswich Jets 22

(notice a pattern developing)

The Queensland Cup game was top quality, especially for this time of the year. There was never more than a converted try in the match except for after the hooter when Wynnum scored a sensational try.

It was certainly a much better contest and spectacle than the NRL trial which followed - Manly 38 defeated South Sydney 6 (from an intercept).

Some promising performances from some of Wynnum's recruits - Gary Winter, Chris Morrow and Simon Phillips in particular.
