That really makes sense to me so so so much......lets get rid of Thorman, play him at halfback for the rest of the year, and Witt who should be our halfback can play reggies. Farks me if I know what the heck is going on.

Obviously the 0-6 record just didn't quite stand up to justify another season!

Going on from the locked thread I honestly believe that Smith would have informed both Thorman and Witt that a decision on who would and who would not play against the Storm had not been made throughout the week, but I am 100% sure that a decision would have been made and informed to both players well and truly before they took the field.

Didn't someone else suggest that it was the last week available to accept the 1 year option on Thormans contract?

This being the case I would suggest that Smithy may have wanted to see Thorman go round 1 last time in an attempt to secure that option. Looks like he failed.

Our depths beginning to look a little transparent especially in a few key positions. Not ideal.

Well, lets wait and see what happens with the run on side this weekend.

I guess, going into the melbourne match, we still had a vague sniff of the finals, so smithy probably thought the best hope of beating melbourne was with thorman rather than witt.

We may as well get rid of him now and let him play in the ESL for the remainder of the season. Let Witt run the show, he's going to have do that in the future anyway, he may as well start now.

I woud have liked to see more of him though.

Now he's leaving, he is just excess baggage!

Okay then. If Smith does not play Witt as starting halfback this week , what will he gain through having Thorman as half. Thorman is going and Witty is staying, if smith doesn't get this one right on the weekend I can only say its a very rash decision. This club takes one step forward then two steps backwards. Good one smithy

If Witty doesn't start this weekend, it will be for only 1 reason

...........$

Im not sure how Witty's contract is drawn up but you would swear that it is based on incentive based first grade starts!!

f**k if he doesn't get this right it could be enough to sway me over to join the majority (I hate Smith club)

I always thought that the great Australian motto was "A Fair Go".

Its a pity Thorman was never given one.
Your treatment out here has been nothing short of disgraceful.

All the best at your new club Chris.

Yeah I actually feel really sorry for the guy. I think he had a fair bit of potential.

If you can make your nations' 2nd team you must have something going for you.

It would be hard for him to get back out here again so looks like it is ESL for good!!!!

Tulsen Tollett played hooker for England.......

I think the guy goes well but he is an individual player coming from a club that is Premier League standard at best. I don't think he got a fair go but I do think he showed everything he had.

Even after that mauling we coppped from the tigers, I would have liked to have seen him get another couple of runs with witt outside him.

Still, we cant walk away from the fact that our most inempt attacking games this year were with thorman leading us around.

The Australian motto may well be 'A Fair Go' but the coach and board have a responsibility to the fans to put the side on the park that they think will win. If that means that one bloke isn't given a 'fair go', so be it. A lot of you people were bagging BS for not giving the young guys a run, so he did and they got flogged. I didn't see any of you guys on the tele copping the blame for picking the side that week!!!!
