Tried? Well if that's all it takes, we should ask John Morris to come back.

You can't blame the forwards for what Moltzen came up with today. He was, quite simply, out of sorts. The whole team lacked rhythm, and it was because there was no clean link between the dummy half and the ball runners. Moltzen just looked lost.

Not our worst, but not a first grade halfback. Fingers crossed that he's learned something from today.
if you are going to quote me please use all of what i have said,, Yes i did mention the forwards as WELL as Moltzen having next to no game time is 18months. did you think the forwards were going forward by the way ? And would you say that any halfback would have had a GOOD game behind that .

McKinnon and Utai have been great the last two weeks. Never rated the McKinnon purchase but the last three weeks, highlighted by today, have been great and Utai just gets better and better.

I did include the whole quote. I did not respond to your quip about lack of game time because I was more concerned with your other comment - assuming you mean that Moltzen would not have stood flat, caught the ball while stationary, or gotten in the rest of the back-line's way if our forwards were having a better time of it?

As for having next to no game time... well, so what? He got given the job, and he didn't fulfill it with distinction. Maybe he will next time. But in the meantime it simply shows that it's not always greener on the other side. We missed Lui today more than we missed anyone else.

We were ordinary, and never looked like getting on top and winning, but at least the opposition did not put 40+ on us.

Well I guess we will never know, but I don't think any individual would've made much difference today. There were a few that didn't play with distinction. Lets just hope we can turn it around for next week.

Perhaps a more accurate title would be:

Tigers = sh*t
I don't know about that? It is only R4 & we have half the starting squad missing & a few playing busted & don't forget for the first 60-70 mins we were still a chance? We did'nt play well in R4, but a few players were rusty & I think we will certainly improve as the squad comes back together.

I think we got monstered in the forwards. We had no grunt.

I have never ever seen so many breaks made down the middle of our defence, it was concerning to say the least.

If we defend like that on Friday, they will need the SCG scoreboard to put South's score up.

Galloway was the only forward who offered any go forward.

Dwyer needs to go

Moltzen is a 5/8 and only plays well when Farah is controlling a game

Moltzen shouls have had a full run in reggies at least once this year.

Farah needs to go and have his surgery. The amount of extra work our forwards had to do covering for his stilted tecnique was concerning and wore them really quickly.

Having a back on the bench with a injured forward returning is utterly geniused.

That's Sheens for you. I'll bet we never have four forwards on the bench once this year.

I like Dwyer, but he needs a stint in reggies. Maybe not right now given our injury toll, but if Ellis comes back very soon then I'd definitely be dropping him.

Agree on both counts. Aside from a few crucial moments in defence we held on to them pretty well. That's why our pathetic attack was so hard to take. I know the multitude of handling errors by Dwyer, Daniala and Brown did not help and I don't put it all on Moltzen but I really don't think he was up to the task - for whatever reason. He just completely fell apart as more and more pressure mounted... Given all the talk about Jacob Miller during the week, and given that Moltzen was clearly struggling to find his mojo, why the f**k did Sheens not take a punt on the kid?

Was there ever a plan B? What use is a coach who can't adapt his game plan in the heat of the moment?

Don't look now, but we're just about to re-sign that f**ker for another two years. Happy 2011!

moltzen is weak (where's your messiah now?)
but in saying that our forwards are so p*ssweak its almost enbarassing at times
all they want to do is run sideways all day then expect our backs to turn that sh*te
into gold.

fifita - can you hit the ball up with a bit of speed c'mon man pick up the pace and run it straight once in a while and take a hit for the team

schirnak brothers - tooooo small and not enough skill to make up for it

robbie - stop saying your injury is not affecting your game, IT IS !!,if it isnt the
reason ,then what is your excuse for the sh*t you served up this week

galloway - when you take in this guy's size ,his impact just does not seem to add up,c'mon BIG RED fire up!!

heighington - disappointing ,a lot of very dumb penalties

dwyer - has not kicked on this year still dreaming about THAT tackle,FOCUS

gibbs - first game back

woods - our only shining light at the moment

payten - considering knees and other niggles going ok

forwards have to lift for us to have any chance

ps
whats happened to mcnamara good player plays above his weight and with skill

I don't get the criticism of him. IMO he's been our best forward this year, closely followed by Woods. He was better than Woods yesterday and was the only player who hit with any sting or venom in his defence. Was also the only player who went forward.

For mine, he spends way too long on the bench. Needs to play more minutes. We get dominated when he's off the field.

I like Fifita, but he doesn't run straight and hard enough, too much sideways shuffling trying to fend off players. Galloway hits it straight and hard up the guts, hits hard in defence and is hard to put down.

There was one stage where we had four or five sets on their line in the second half, and not one of our forwards ran onto the ball with any speed. I was screaming for Galloway to come on, then he comes on when the Roosters get the ball back and work it into our half. He should have been on earlier when we were piling the pressure on.

Sorry, I am not sure of your first point, about Moltzen? Is he your reference to a messiah? Cause I don't recall anyone calling him that? We can only play who we have got available, in 2009 before he got hurt, he was playing the house down, last game was his first full game since that injury, he has to be given some time to see if he still has it, I think he deserves that?
I agree with your thoughts on the forwards, except for perhaps Payten? He is not the impact he was? Bubbles indicated that he is carrying a few injuries. I don't think our forwards group is really that robust to barge up the middle everytime, certainly not like the pack that Easts have? We have always been a bit more mobile than other packs, I know one thing, we wont go away & I still think we are a top 4 team this year, when we get everyone back.

Dont get me wrong I still think we are a top 4 team too ,easts should have lapped us yesterday on our performance and i take your point on the size of our forwards but can they straighten up at least in 2 of five tackles instead with a quik play the ball to give the backs some room and time to do their thing.....

Moltzen is weak, gamefit or not

So many posts about Moltzen as an undefeated halfback does tend to show he's been held in messiah-like esteem by some. It's a fair comment. Mostly it's just frustration with Lui being given the nod over Moltzen... That's fair enough, but from what we saw yesterday, Lui has the upper hand right now and we will miss him terribly. Let's hope Moltzen makes up some ground pronto.
