Had no idea where to start but I’ll start with the start LOL.
Not talked about but I was impressed with our composure and patience (a quality lacking in the first half of this year) in the opening ten minutes where we had a ton of ball and were denied twice against a side we were expected to towel up. Could’ve been tempted into getting desperate and chancing our arm and trying to score off every play, we were happily biding our time.
I think Luke Kerry’s performance last night was as close to his 2018 GF form as he can get and did it with 20minutes to spare. Please stay healthy!
Pleased with the big men up front. Jared/Lodge bromance continues, Rads back to his damaging best and his report was laughable if not outrageous. Angus back on form too now that his future is settled and who would’ve bet Nat Butcher turning into a try-scoring machine? All deserved as his support play has been outstanding. Toops found his hands again and Sammy’s kicking form has come at the right time. Although not rewarded with a try, the more I see Suallii, the less I miss Latrell. He’s just as damaging a runner but faster and fitter. Manu had his typical busy game and caused the Tigers defence headaches all night. The only downside were the kick offs which is odd considering the amount of practice we got last night LOL.
I was worried with Robbo not resting players but it turned out to be a practice run last night anyway. No one was made to work hard defensively or do anything else demanding.
Its hard trying to judge last night as the Tigers didn’t turn up but I don’t think the players will get ahead of themselves. Tougher tests lie ahead.
Took my daughter last night to witness a bit of history as it’s the last game at the SCG and she’ll be going to the first new SFS game too. She has some memories for life now.
Goodbye to the SCG. I love you but just not for rugby league.
So many deserve points.
