Tigers have found a way to stop Hayne!

On channel nine they just interview tigers and they reckon they have a way to stop hayne...run him ragged, he is not the most athletic fullback apparently so they want to run and run and run him.

They may just forget about fui, inu, hindy, reddy and mateo....teams have tried it, but hanye and burt often swap from what i have seen to give him a break.

The only way for Hayne to get to tired is to make tackles

Seeing as he is the fullback the only way for him to tackle would be on the end of a Tigers break

Sheensy...why dont you work out how to bust the line thats conceeded 20 points in 4 games before you worry about whats standing behind it

i just think our defence will shut them down, maybe im not giving the tigers enough credit, but i am more than confident we will beat them..

Actually I think they are on to something... last week the warriors let Jarryd run and run and run at them and he was stuffed after 15 min but we were up 18-0.

If they let Jarryd run the ball (i.e they are going to kick to him all night) I think he might hurt them if they dont have a perfect kick/chase.

No special plan for Hayne, say Tigers

http://news.leaguehq.com.au/breakin...-plan-for-hayne-say-tigers-20090820-ersi.html

More is less as far as the Wests Tigers are concerned when it comes to shutting down Parramatta fullback Jarryd Hayne.
The most dangerous player in the NRL at the moment has been a key focus for the Tigers ahead of Friday's blockbuster at the SFS, and coach Tim Sheens revealed he may have found a weakness in the 21-year-old superstar's game.
"When he gets tired he seems to change with Luke Burt so he is not the most aerobic fullback in the world but he is certainly an impact player," said Sheens on Thursday.
"We've got no special plans other than we've had a look at what his little idiosyncrasies are and what he likes to do and doesn't like to do and we will play to that a little bit.
"But it's not a specific focus of our game plan.
"If we worry about Jarryd I think the rest of the side is a good side, he is not the only one winning them the games.
"Like any good player you try to limit his ability to get into the game, but I'm not going to focus everything on shutting one man down."
Skipper Robbie Farah remained very tight-lipped about the Tigers' plans for Hayne, but there is little doubt he is the most feared player in the Eels lineup.
"He definitely is a freak and in the form of his career and probably one of the best players going around if not the best," said Farah.
"Players like that at some stage of the game they're going to hurt you and hopefully we can limit how much damage he does.
"(But) one player doesn't win you a game of footy ... they have quality players across the park and they're not a one-man team.
"Hopefully we can show you (how to stop him) tomorrow night."
Both sides are running hot ahead of the round 24 fixture, the Tigers on a six-game winning streak while the Eels have won their last five games straight.
The importance of this game illustrated by the fact the Tigers could fall from fifth to 10th with a loss, while the ninth-placed Eels could jump to fifth by the end of the round with a win, or be as low as 12th after the `destiny round.'
Given the high stakes on offer, Sheens said his biggest fear for the remaining three weeks of the competition is that a controversial refereeing decision will prove costly to one of the eight teams vying for the bottom four places in the finals.
"Hopefully the players will decide it and not a referee or video referee," said Sheens.
"I don't think there is a coach in the game particularly happy with the week in week out decisions that have gone for them or against them.
"(But) you would like to think the game with quality of referees we have got and the importance of games in the last three weeks, particularly teams running from fifth down, it's very, very important there is no controversy."

Let 'im run , Tiges , he might just clock up 300 odd metres , 1 or 2 tries , 3 or 4 try assists.
I just can't get over how fast and agile he is for such a big bastard.
And STRONG!

Jarryd did look buggered last week, but he has been busting his arse for a while now. Perhaps he had light training this week.

Defencivley (except on getting to loose balls) Jarryd Hayne is one of the best defencive fullbacks I can remember.

To be honest, Im not so much excited about Hayne vs Marshall, moreso Ellis vs Hindmarsh. These 2 were considered the best second rowers in the world about 2 or 3 years ago. 2 machines, 2 80 minute players. It will be a championship battle.

I remember an interview with Hayne not too long ago and he said that usually about a month of so after Origin he does get fatigued more easily and that it is a period he will have to manage better this time round until he gets through it. So I would say that by swapping bith Burt every now and then during games is how they are trying to manage this period of his season.

Im concerned about the boys inability to communicate under the high ball that drops in our quarter. There have been a couple of times, when we have let the ball bounce - I just hope that Benji doesnt get the opportunity to kick the ball to this area...

The players they really have to shut down are Robson and Mortimer. But they probably dont realise that! As 'no-frills' as Robson is, most of our attack eminates from him in some shape or form - whether it be an inside pass to a forward, or quickly shuffling it out to the backs (or Lowrie running wide). I've got a funny feeling Robson might run the ball a bit tonight, seeing as the Tigers will probably focus on our outside backs.
