In case people don't get these emails, I just received this.
Dear Member
You may have read in the last few days that the Balmain Tigers are in a precarious financial position as a result of delays caused by Leichhardt Council in the assessment of the Tigers application for the redevelopment of the Clubs premises at Victoria Road, Rozelle.
The Tigers application for a new Club, public plaza, public carparking, retail centre and apartments has been with Leichhardt Council for 878 days. After many undertakings to decide the application, Council resolved last month to re-exhibit the application and hence delay further its capacity to ultimately determine the application.
The Tigers have been extremely patient with Council during this process, however the time has come whereby we cannot afford to continue to standby and let the Club fail in the hands of Leichhardt Council. The Tigers community, the wider community, our fans and out-and-out common sense says we shouldnt.
Tigers is a not-for-profit community based organisation that supports many community, sporting and charitable groups and is the major funding provider to all levels of rugby league in the community. In this our Centenary Year, we have never been under greater threat.
Tigers have expended many millions of dollars in seeking to meet the requirements of Council and are not seeking favours, simply certainty that someone will make a decision and save this famous Club.
On behalf of everyone at the Tigers, I urge you to make your voice heard and call on your local representatives to make a decision as soon as possible on the Tigers application.
If you are able to do so, please express your support for Tigers to either Balmain MP, Verity Firth or Leichhardt Council directly at the addresses below:
