Moltzen attacks the line at speed. That's what we need at 7. Put the pressure on the forwards. Lui and Benji both go sideways looking for opportunity. Moltz looks to straighten the attack. We need that.

btw...Why the f**k do we always attack to the left? Always go to Lotes wing. That's farked. What a f**king joke. Sheens is a farkwit.

Lui is the best young ball playing half I have seen, ever

Could be a Cliffy Lyons in the making but he is too inconsistent at the moment. His lackadaisical nature is a concern. Doesn't back himself as much as he should. He is a double edged sword. Good when he is on, but pretty bad when he is off. With Moltz you will get that consistancy.

His passes are floaters just waiting an intercept, he throws it anywhere when he is under pressure, he doesnt like to tackle , he want fall on a lose ball, his kicking game is average , he doesnt believe in ball security and he certainly isnt all that fast
In reading the piece from your post, it reminded me about a guy named Marshall when he started out, his floaters, his tackling, his kicking game (still). That kid has improved and maybe Lui will as well?

I'm still out on who but just think that the kid should be given a go, it is after all the 1st game.

Jump on youtube and have a look at the highlights from Benji's debut and then come back and compare the two, the second player of which has had a full season and some in first grade to make some improvement and still can't command a highlight reel from the one Benji game.

I can't believe you could compare him to Marshall. Just like the other bloke who said Lui is the best he's seen in 30 years or some such rubbish, better than Johns by that standard - everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but in my eyes it is downright delusional.

I am a Moltzen fan, but wont blow smoke where the sun does not shine. Moltzen is a great prospect, far better than Lui imo, but there will be no comparisons to others, no predictions of rep jumpers etc, in fact the only prediction I will make is that if Moltzen ever lines up against us in a number 7 jumper I will be as disgusted with the coach and the club as I am every time I see Bronson Harrison play a blinder for his club, or worse, carve us up as he did in the semi last year.

To lose a player because the coach would not play him in position, or pick him when he should be the number 1 pick, is a tragedy. Just like letting Hodgson go, an 80% kicker, with no replacement.

Yeah why go left ??

Lets look at the options

Left

Lote, one of the best finisher in the game, Dual international, possibly the quickest at our club ....

Lawrence -international , probably quicker than Lote..

The 2 have developed a wonderful understanding

Right

A midget who has come to the club from playing park footy for Auburn..

Ayshford- good player, but no where near the speed of Lote or Lawrence

1st NRL game together - no chemistry ...

But hey your right, they should get the ball out to the right as much as possible ....

Highlights will show his step- but no one has put together a package of his miss tackles, kicks out on the full etc etc from his first year...

Lui will be a special player....hope sheens sticks with him for a full season again...

for those who think its just sheens talking him up why did he get picked for the QLD SOO up and comers side....

One dimesional attack is easier to shut down however.

Knowing its coming is one thing- shutting it down is another-

True 1 dimensional is predictable, But look who is on the wing and the man inside him- of-course we will go there more often..

Moltzen should not even be in first grade at the moment. He is clearly not fit, and 10 minutes at the end of the game is not going to do anything for his match fitness.

Anyone who thinks Lui should be dropped is kidding themselves.

Moltzen is also not a fullbacks arsehole, so the only role I see for him at the moment is on the bench, or in the centres, perhaps pushing Ayshford on the wing?

Moltzen is the much better ball runner, and Lui the much better ball player. But what we need is a half with a good kicking game, since we already have a fairly good ball player AND ball runner in the number 6.

I don't mind the idea of Moltzen in the centres and Lui at halfback, its the only way I can see us keeping the both of them.

Moltzen shirks from contact so I can't see him becoming a good centre in todays footy. 20+ years ago he may have turned into a top centre but I doubt he could today. Thought the same about Collis - flashes of true footballing brilliance, but just not a modern centre.

If Moltzen's positional play and kick returns were even average by NRL standards, he'd be a pretty decent fullback, certainly his support play and ability to offer an extra ball-playing dimension from the back are already elite by NRL standards.

Not sold on his halfback abilities, but I'm not sold on Lui either. Neither seem comfortable directing the team or have sound kicking games. In fact I'd go so far (and have been saying it for years) that we have the worst kicking game in the comp. Should engage either Johns brother IMO, and pay them a squillion. A decent kicking game, and kick-chase, and we'd be a much better team. Should show the team footage of the Rooster's kicking game and kick-chase from last Friday, we need that every week.

I wasn't comparing him to Johns. I was just pointing out that he is the best halves prospect I have seen at Balmain/Wests Tigers in my time of watching footy.

Do you think its just a matter of someone coaching to kick ?? It hasnt helped Benji's goal kicking :? I certainly understand your point tho... we all know not to kick straight down the fullbacks throat but it happens week in and week out in all games .... they can give me a squillion bucks and ill tell them them not to do it..

Maybe its just reflects the whole sides performance on the day and our go forward... if we are dominating in making metres we have more time to direct our kick and not just rush .. Thats my 2 bobs worth ?

Mate, you're clueless.....absolutely clueless....just like that farkwit coach.

So if there is an overlap on the right, you'd still go left? Utai is an ex-international and can finish if the opportunity is there. That's the job of a FG winger ya clown.

It wasnt just last week, it's all the f**king time. Happened all of last year. Yes..its so predictable, just like your clueless comments.
