Following the strong win over Parramatta at the Sydney Football Stadium last night, Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens has agreed to a new one-year deal with the club.
Off contract at the end of this season, the new deal takes the current Australian coach out until the end of 2011.
Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said he was delighted that the Wests Tigers Board endorsed his recommendation on Thursday night to extend Sheens contract.
Tim is the ultimate professional and his vast experience and expertise are massive assets for our club, Humphreys said.
We are thrilled that he has agreed to extend his tenure as our head coach. Tim is held in the highest regard by everyone at Wests Tigers.
He represents our club with distinction and has built a culture that we are all very proud of.
Sheens expressed his pleasure with the contract extension.
We have a tremendous squad of players and a very experienced team of coaches at Wests Tigers, Sheens said.
I am very excited about our prospects and I look forward to working hard in achieving success for this club which I love dearly.
