Seeing as though we are about to lose a lot of our Newtown stars to the rorters, now is the time to sign up players of importance to first and second grade.
Let me start a list for you to add Newtown players we HAVE to sign
1. Kingston (Why havent we, or when are we going to sign him!???)

Which, much as I love Kingston, kind of makes sense. If Raper loves Hilder and rates Latu then why throw serious money at a third hooker?

The only reason would be that you want to that would be if you were going to put Hilder in the backrow, which I think is one of the strongest positions at the club.

but now we are looking for an extra 17 players to fill in a PL team. ok, maybe only 10 players as flegg boys will step up

maybe that's why peterson etc are being signed, and why alot of the juniors are now being retained. becasue otherwsie, we wont have a competitive team in PL

Yeah I was forgetting about the release of Newtown's junior base. I'll miss watching lower grade Sharks at Henson Park (even though I only did it once) Are they playing there when FG play Souths?

Surely if Latu was on the bench for firsts, as expected, Kingston would make a handy back-up starter???
We must really be about to go ballistic in the lower grade signings....considering we had little numbers this year in lower grades

We had good numbers. If we didn't have Newtown to give us some players, the holes would have mainly been filled by Flegg players getting promoted sooner or trialists. Now that we don't have Newtown, I'm sure we'll see 2 or 3 trialists getting added to the reserve grade squad for next year after we run some open trials.

Maybe it's time for Mr_Sharks to dust off the ol' boots.

Maybe it's time for a reality check. We'll be more than able to fill a PL team. Don't forget there are Sharks in the Jim Beam Cup side as well that would most likely of made up the PL team in 2005 if not for the Newtown thing. There are Flegg players that move up every year as well, something that was thwarted to a certain extent this year and something that was seen as a problem to the young players.

Newtown rarely provided more than half a dozen players in any one game to the PL team.
