Time to wake up Knights

Its about time the Knights woke up to themselves, they took that game easy. Didnt even look like a team ever wanting to win. Forward pack were K'Oed. The Raiders are the most inexperienced team in the NRL but managed to put 48 on us (Pretty much our full squad). No Excuses tonight, we were simply poor and pitiful.

Any Injuries during the Game did we pick up on?

Brian Smith No doubt will do a better job then Hages and teach them a hard lesson. I am confident they will be back next week against the storm. If they play like they did tonight however, expect a cricket score.

Rancid display.

Don't understand how we could have given them that much room to move. Their forwards looked to have run 10 metres before they got to a Knights player, if they got around our slack (offside?) markers. No urgency in defense at all. So far this year then we've conceded 84 points, and this is supposed to be our year of improved defense? I'll give them a few rounds to get it together, because Smith said the same and I've no reason to doubt him yet, realistically, but damn that was excruciating.

Some big hits though, and Newton and Paterson dragged down a few good ones. But when you have the opposition 1-17 poking their heads through a tackle every bloody time, you're having a shocker.

And I'll say drop Thaiday back to first division until he learns a few things about positioning. We were basically without a fullback for most of the second half, if a non-attacking clearing kick was put through, all you'd see would be the ball heading towards the ingoal and Thaiday lumbering across field. Does he just stand in the middle of the field and wait for the kick to be made? His laziness or lack of ability to read the play puts us under massive pressure - he can do some fantastic, fantastic things, but until he figures out the basics then he's dead wood, frankly.

an absolute shocker, not only didnt our forwards look like they were playing footy, Johns did nothing and when he tried it was sh*t. i dont care if he was knocked out weeks ago, he has been playing for long enough to even do something. i was dissapointed with everyone tonight! look for major changes next week.

The sad thing about tonight's performance is that Canberra fans will bray about how tremendous they were when, in actuality, we were just terrible. They played good football, don't get me wrong, but it was in no way good enough to suddenly shrug off the very real chance that it'll be them and Sydney vying for the wooden spoon honours this year.

We were f**king atrocious. Did Johns even look angry once? Our pack, with the exception of White and Patterson, were MIA. Carmont and Tighe were up to their normal tricks (being awful), Thaiday wasn't ready, and Johns' presence prevented Mullen from getting the ball he needed to make an impression.

Give us a few more games like that, particularly the next two against parramatta and the roosters, then ill predict where we will finish, I honestly, was expecting a better (or rather, closer) game than that tonight, but, on the other hand, it was easily the best the raiders have played for a number of years, kind of takes me back to the days of stuart and daley, mullins and co

We were sh*t, but i reckon Canberra would have beaten quite a few teams last night.

They did score some very impressive tries.

i agree - canberra played a top game of football in the second half. both teams were bad in the first half. too much drop ball... and canberra fixed that in their game in the second half.. we certainly didn't.

bottom line is there is no excuses because fat arse johnsy was playing and the squad was at full strength.

The green machine simply outplayed and out smarted every knights player, carney and dobbo easily outplayed and looked alot better than johns and mullen

What about costigans hit on johns in the second half.........YEWWWWWWha get that up ya johnsy.whats that???..you have an appointment to get your hair n nails done this weekend?

The green machine simply outplayed the knights in everything they did and the knights are the first team to get "smashed" by the green machine in 07....expect alot more thrashings.

THA END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didn't score any impressive tries. It was just abismall bloody defence every try and bad positional play. We were absolutley pathetic and it's not the only time. We do it every year.

I dont know how u can say the Raiders tries werent impressive, alot of them were, there were some that were very soft tries given to them on our part but to say none of the tries were impressive is just stupid

Pay no attention to Battler - what he/she said was ludicrous. Tilse's ball to Zillman for his second off that scrum was absolutely sublime

Go watch the game again, and make sure you look for the #1 green jumper. Whenever you see it, watch what he does as well as the quality passes/kicks he is on the recieving end of.

There were a couple of tries helped by abysmal (note the spelling) one on one defence too, but not to take away from some of the best attacking efforts I have seen from the Raiders in a while. Reminded me a lot of some of the scintillating stuff from Manly for their fullback Stewart when they played the Knights late last year.
