What happens when in October 2008, a mass exodus takes place in the world of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling? What happens when the greatest "homemade" star to ever grace the six-sided ring promotion, and reigning World Heavyweight champion, walks out on his deal to join the cashed up, global empire that is World Wrestling Entertainment? What happens when arguably the most athletic professional wrestler in history, and former three time World Heavyweight chamopion A.J.Styles decides to follow Joe's lead, and take up a contract with TNA's "jacked up" rival?

What happens when the Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, sick of waiting to be pushed past the lower mid card, opt to return to their stomping grounds of Ring of Honor and Zero-1 in Japan? What happens when masked-comedy character Curry Man, decides he's had enough of the kindegarden shenanigans, and returns to the indy scene he once dominated, as "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels? What happens when the craziest son-of-a-bitch to ever feature in a cage or Ultimate X match, and former Team Canada member Elix Skipper gets sick and tired of jobbing and subsequently quits the company?

TNA has largely become a dumping ground for washed up, passed their prime WWE talent. What happens when tag team legends Buh Buh Ray and D-Von decide not to resign with the company, and return to WWE's third brand, ECW? What happens when the contraversial 90's duo of Brian James (B.G.James) and Monty Sopp (Kip James) are asked to reunite in the 'E' as the New Age Outlaws?

What happens when three former Heavyweight champions of the World, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and Sting, all decide to hang up their boots once and for all and retire from the business they have delivered so much too over their allustrious careers? What happens when 1996 Summer Olympic Gold Medalist and eight times World Heavyweight Champion, kurt Angle, takes an indefinite amount of time out, inorder to rehabilitate fully, after suffering a neck injury.

And what happens when the once-prosperous woman's division of TNA suffers dual blows, when first ever champion Gail Kim and current reigning Womans champion Tailor Wilder leaves, and is released, respectivly?

What happens you ask? This happens...

TNA NEWS & RUMOURS

- After the drama occuring over the past few days, TNA management has reportedly met to solidify things. In an act of damage control, TNA has secured Abyss, L.A.X., Jay Lethal, Kaz, Robert Roode, Christian Cage and Rhino on exclusive written deals, preventing them from working for any other company other than Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

- TNA has reportedly signed a deal with former NFL player, TNA wrestler and WWE Superstar "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown. Brown, who wrstled under the monicker "Marcus Cor Von" during his short WWE tenure, has apparently signalled interest in returning to the ring, and TNA, with its current problems, has jumped at the chance to bring back the former main eventer. Brown was PWI's Rookie Of The Year in 2004, and will be looking at building upon that when returning to TNA.

- Speaking of signings, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling has also female wrestler Stephanie Finochio, better known to fans as Trinity, on an exclusive deal. Finochio has not appeared in a ring since 2007, after she was released from World Wrestling Entertainment. She worked on the company's ECW brand, and prior to that had done some work with TNA. This signing has taken place in an attempt to bolster the fledgeling Knockouts division.

- TNA has also signed 5 time Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions, Mark and Jay Briscoe, aswell as CMLL lucha star Rey Bucanero. Bucanero featured in TNA's World X Cup, where he impressed management enough to have them offer him a full time deal, which he has accepted. The Briscoes will wrestle predominantly in the tag division, and Bucanero will no suprise feature in TNA's X Division. TNA has been looking at bringing in more X Division stars to capitalise on the massive Latin American market.

- Ring of Honor wrestler Necro Butcher has worked one or two house shows for TNA recently, so the company may look at bringing him in. It is reported that Necro will work with either Mick Foley or Abyss.

"Gold Rush"

With the much publicised issues regarding the situation of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling hanging overhead, and the largest pay per view of the year looming in little over a month's time, TNA commissioner Jim Cornette was on hand to address what he dubbed "TNA's Darkest Hour". Cornette spoke of the many highs and lows this company has faced over its 5 year history, but notes that on every occasion TNA has bounced back, and it has been the fans who ensured that they came back bigger and better every time. Cornette went on to announce that beginning tonight, there will be a tournament to decide the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion, with the semi finals and final being held at the biggest pay per view of the year, Bound For Glory. He signed out by saying TNA had proven that we are wrestling, we are willing to cross the line, and now it will prove who has Guts, and who has Glory!

The first match of this week's Impact! saw former TNA World Tag Team Champions L.A.X. take on Jimmy Rave and Lance Hoyt, the Rock N Rave Infection, in a match which would see the winner proclaimed the contenders for Robert Roode's and James Storm's titles. Homcide and Hernandez were on the front foot from the get go, dominating their opposition in every facit as they fought their way to a relatively straight forward victory. Homicide picked up the victory after delivering a jaw-shattering Cringo Cutter to Jimmy Rave. Post match, Homicide and Hernandez made their intentions known to Beer Money, as they celebrated with Salinas and Hector Guerrero in the middle of the ring.

Backstage saw a confrontation between the first round particpants of the TNA Heavyweight Championship tournament, "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal and Booker T. Lethal was being interviewed by Jeremy Borash, discussing the honor and passion needed to successfully bring home that title, only to be interupted by the former "Five Time WCW Champion" Booker T, who accused Lethal of being nothing more than a "comedy character" and an "immitation of a cat he beat years ago." Booker said if anybody was going to Bound For Glory, it was going to be him. "Now can you dig THAT...sucka"

In further tag team action, this week's Impact! saw close friends "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage and "War Machine" Rhino take on "The Monster" Abyss and "The Masked Superhero" Super Eric. In a rather evenly balanced contest, it was Abyss who set the pace, dominating Christian Cage with a flurry of fists and a huge sidewalk slam. Rhino managed to match Abyss, and the two commenced in a brawl for the ages, before Super Eric was tagged in. The Masked Superhero was no match for Rhino however, and looked gone for all money after recieving a beating from Rhino. The War Machine had Super Eric set up for the Gore, only for Eric to move out of the way and send Rhino into Abyss instead. With the referee assessing the damage, Christian Cage was able to hit Eric with an Unprettier, followed by a Frog Splash, before Rhino picked up the win with the pinfall. After the match Super Eric and Abyss exchanged heated words, with Abyss demanding wether or not Eric had done this on purpose. Super Eric kept denying it, aswell as denying to be Eric Young in the process.

Shiek Abdul Bashir was at Impact! this evening, cutting a very controversial promo prior to the X Division Championship match. Bashir claimed he was being held back in TNA because of the management's racial prejudice, and if it wasn't for the rednecks backstage, or the rednecks in the crowd for that matter, he would be the X Division Champion. He said "his family came to this country for freedom; for equal oppertunity; for a chance to succeed. However all they have recieved is nothing but hatred, bigotry and racism." He called America "Land of the Greedy, Home of The Slaves" before takign a seat at ringside alongside Mike Tenay and Don West.

TNA's X Division stars didn't let Bashir's words bother them however, as TNA World X Division Champion "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams defended his title in a 4-way dance against Shark Boy, Consequences Creed and the debuting Rey Bucanero. The match saw many twists and turns, as all four traded innovative offence coupled with high risk menouvers. Consequences Creed was undoubtadly the star of the match, and looked to have the match won after delivering a Creed-DT to Shark Boy. It wasn't to be however, as Sheik Abdul Bashir stood up from the announcer's table, picked up a steel chair and nailed Creedin the back, preventing him from making the cover. This allowed reigning champion Petey Williams to hit the Candian Destroyer and thus retain his title.

In one of the strangest moments in recent history, "former" TNA star Kaz was seen in the crowd. Kaz, who had supposably quit the company months earlier, was seen chatting to fans, and holding up a sign that read "HIRE ME RUSSO!!! I DO GIMMICKS". TNA commentators Mike Tenay and Don West were quick to point out who he was and not that he currently was "not under contract".

In Knockouts action tonight, TNA Woman's Champion ODB teamed up with Roxxi Leveaux to take on the team of Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, The Beautiful People. ODB dominated the match when she was in the ring, however the same couldn't be said about her partner. Roxxi was the victim of constant taunting and beatings at the hands of the Beautiful People, and it took a running powerslam to Sky, coupled with the Dirty Dozen to Love, from ODB, to ensure the fan favourites came out on top.

That wasn't all for the Knockouts though, as ODB's and Roxxi Leaveaux's celebrations were cut short, thanks to a blindside attack from Raisha Saeed and her client, Awesome Kong. Kong delivered an Awesome Bomb to each of her foes before standing supreme in the middle of the ring, all the while making her intentions known to the incubant Womans Champ.

Backstage, it was announced that next week, we will see "The Monster Abyss" take on "The War Machine" Rhino in the second match of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament. After making the announcement, Jim Cornette was interupted by a fuming Sheik Abdul Bashir, who claimed it should be he who competes in that match, not the other two. Before he could cry prejudice, Cornette called Bashir's actions tonight "refutable", and "there was no way he would be in a tournament that rewards athleticism, respect and honor, three qualities he clearly doesn't have". Cornette did say Bashir would be in action next week, and it would be a match of momentus proportions. He would be taking on "an athlete, a superstar, a guy who exudes charisma, a guy who truely and undeniably is, "The Alpha Male". Next week, Sheik Abdul Bashir will take on noneother than, "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown!

In Impact!'s main event Booker T was facing what could have been the biggest upset in professional wrestling history, when came close to losing to a very gutsy and determined Jay Lethal. As Lethal was lining up Booker for an elbow drop, however, Sonjay Dutt and So Cal Val hit the ring, distracting the referee and allowing Dutt to push Lethal from the top rope. Booker was then able to hit the axe kick, just in time for the referee to turn and make the cover. It wasn't over, however, as Sonjay Dutt slid into the ring and bagan laying into Lethal, before being escorted from the ring by security. Lethal lay in a pool of blood, as the show faded out...

Quick Results:
L.A.X. def. Rock N Rave Infection
Christian Cage & Rhino def. Super Eric & Abyss
ODB & Roxxi Leveaux def. The Beautiful People
Petey Williams def. Rey Bucanero, Consequences Creed & Shark Boy
Booker T def. Jay Lethal

Confirmed For Next Week:

"The Gold Rush Continues"

TNA Impact! for the 9th October edition began with the entrance of Sheik Abdul Bashir. Draped in traditional Arab attire, Bashir made his way to the ring and cut a promo, calling Jim Cornette's issuing of his match with Monty Brown "blasphemy" and "not only an attack on his integrity, but an attack on Allah". Bashir said he took his frustration out last week on Consequences Creed because it was morally the right thing to do. He made note that Creed was the "embodiment of everything that is wrong with TNA, and everything that is wrong with America". He said that he didnt regret his actions, and that tonight, after he defeated Monty Brown, "all of TNA will bow down to him as he reigns upon the kingdom of Allah".

After Bashir had finished talking, it was time for the first match, as "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown made his way to the ring, in his first outing with the company since late 2006. The Alpha Male made quick work of Bashir, hitting him with an Alpha Slam, followed by a huge Alpha Bomb. Bashir attempted to fight back with a last ditch attempt following a low blow, however an Irish Whip was reversed by Brown, and Sheik was hit with what has affectionately become known as Da Pounce for the win. After the match, Monty Brown celebrated, as Sheik Abdul Bashir headed back to the locker room, screaming something in Arabic whilst holding hius garment.

Sheik Abdul Bashir wasn't the only TNA superstar backing off on Impact! as this weeks edition saw "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal catch Sonjay Dutt off guard backstage, leading to a massive brawl. Lethal was able to gain the advantage, getting revenge for Sonjay costing him his TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament match against Booker T. Officials quickly broke the brawl up, though Lethal didn't look like easing up, and Sonjay quickly split the scene, to escape any further punishment.

TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money were in action this evening, though not before an altercation with number one contenders, L.A.X. Robert Roode said that they are not scheduled to face the Latin superstars tonight, and was quickly shut down when Homicide said "they were number one contenders, so why the hell not, esse!". James Storm exchanged words with Homicide, saying tonight they're fighting some backyard stuntmen named the "Brascoes or Siscoes", so they'd have to make it another time. Hernandez suggested Bound For Glory, and when he was denied, began to head to the ring, with Homicide, Salinas and Hector Guerrero following suit. Beer Money quickly backtrack, and agree to fight them at Bound For Glory, but only if they don't come anywhere near them, untill then. L.A.X. agree.

Beer Money's match with the debuting Briscoe Brothers finally got under way, and it appeared that Beer Money would make light work of the brothers from Laurel, Delaware. James Storm dominated early on Jay Briscoe, as did Robert Roode on Mark, and Jaqueline's antics at ringside cost the debuting duo any oppertunity to mount offence. However, as as Jaqueline was distracting the referee and James Storm was reaching for the beer bottle, Homicide and Hernandez hit the ring and nailed Storm with a steel chair. Homicide hit the Top Con hilo on Robert Roode, and Mark Briscoe was able to hit the cut throat suplex on James Storm to pick up their first win in TNA and leaving the title match at Bound For Glory in dissaray.

Although no TNA Knockouts were in action on this week's edition of Impact!, we were subjected to a rant from Raisha Saeed and Awesome Kong backstage. Saeed claimed that Kong was going to crush ODB for taking something that was not hers. She said that last week was just the tip of the iceberg, as the era of Kong has begun in TNA.

In X Division action this week, Shark Boy teamed up with TNA new comer Rey Bucanero, to take on the team of Johnny Devine and TNA X Division champion "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams. In what was another fantastic X Division encounter, Rey Bucanero stole the show with his areal assault, hitting a corkscrew senton on Devine to pick up the victory over the "X Division Traitor".

"Former TNA wrestler" Kaz was again spotted in the crowd this week, holding up a sign saying "I'LL EVEN CUT MY HAIR", a reference to his firing from WWE a few years back. Don West and Mike Tenay suggested that perhaps Kaz wants to be back in TNA.

Following the brawl that erupted between X Division stars, Sonjay Dutt and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal, TNA Commissioner Jim Cornette made an announcement, stating that both Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal have been escorted out of the building by security and that each has a restraining order against the other, which will expire at Bound For Glory. Cornette went on to state that it was perfect timing, because at Bound For Glory, it's going to be Sonjay Dutt facing off against Jay Lethal, in a Last Man Standing match! Cornette also noted that next week, will mark the debut of TNA's biggest signing yet, Mick Foley. The Hardcore Legend will be hosting his own talk show, "Barbed Wire and Thumbtacks", the first guests being Sheik Abdul Bashir and Consequences Creed!

Prior to this week's main event match up, "The Monster" Abyss and "Showtime" Eric Young were seen backstage together, with Abyss demanding Eric Young remain backstage and not screw things up like he did last week. Young pleaded with Abyss, swearing it wasn't him, it was Super Eric, and he played no part in the matter. The segment ended with Abyss heading to the ring, furious.

In the main event for the evening, we had the second match of the tournament designed to determine the new TNA World Heavyweight champion. The bout featured "The Monster" Abyss going head to head with "The War Machine" Rhino, in what was nothing short of a slugfest. Abyss appeared to have it won, after avoing a Gore attempt from Rhino, sending War Machine into the ringpost. As Abyss was about to Irish Whip Rhino for the Blackhole Slam, the match was interupted by a nappearance from "The Masked Superhero" Super Eric. Super Eric caught Rhino who was headed for the ropes, much to the dismay of a confused Abyss. The Masked Superhero ensured he had him covered, and Irish Whipped Rhino into Abyss, however with all momentum killed, Rhino was able to evadeAbyss' attempt at a Blackhole Slam, and nail him with a Gore, to pick up the win. Impact! ended with an enraged Abyss staring with fury at Super Eric, who was backtrackign quickly toward the locker room.

Quick Results:
Monty Brown def. Sheik Abdul Bashir
The Briscoe Brothers def. Beer Money
Shark Boy & Rey Bucanero def. Petey Williams & Johnny Devine
Rhino def. Abyss

Was contemplating doing a TNA diary myself, but seeing this one doing well - I might tackle a WWE diary entitled 'The Show Must Go On'. A tragic air crash, so many big names lost, and TNA talent off limits for the first six months. We'll see how I go

Enjoying this so far. The Gold Rush, the elimination of largely stupid stipulations, and Mick Foley being used in a positive way rather than just being thrown into a match.

TNA NEWS & RUMOURS

- In what has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for TNA these past few weeks, things have just gotten worse. In a recent news release sent out via TNA Mobile, it has been reported that TNA and X Division star Jay Lethal has been suspended indefinitly, following comments he made during a radio interview conducted by Bubba Love. This means that his Last Man Standing match with Sonjay Dutt, scheduled to take place at Bound For Glory, will either be postponed or dropped all together. There is no word as to when his suspension will be lifted.

- With Lethal out, however, TNA have been able to make two key signings following WWE's routine clear out. Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ron "The Truth" Killings, who was wrestling for the WWE as "R-Truth" has resigned with the company that made him a star; as has Beth Pheonix, who was released by the WWE this past week as creative felt the "Glamarella" had not put her over enough, and they had nothing for her. It is unknown when they will debut with TNA, but both are fairly big names, as R-Truth appeared at WWE's No Mercy in a loss to Shelton Benjamin, whilst Beth Pheonix lost her Womans Championship to Mickie James on the Raw before No Mercy.

- Bound For Glory will mark the return of signature match, The Monster's Ball. Participants have yet to be announded, although there is already talk going round that Abyss, Mick Foley, Eric Young, Terry Funk and even Awesome Kong could feature in this year's edition. It should also be teken in to consideration that Necro Butcher, a notable hardcore wrestler, has been in negotiations with the company in recent weeks, and could be a candidate aswell.

- There is word going round that Kurt Angle could be a suprise entrant into the Heavyweight Championship tournament, however this week's qualifier on Impact! will see Matt Morgan take on "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown, who made his return last week with a victory over Sheik Abdul Bashir.

"Barbed Wire & Thumbtacks: Debut of a Legend"

This week's edition of Impact! picked up from exactly where we left off last week, when "The Monster" Abyss came down to the ring and demanded some answers from Eric Young after what happened in last week's main event. "Showtime" Eric Young came down and swore it wasn't him, it was Super Eric. He pleaded with Abyss to believe him, citing their friendship over the years as proof that he wouldn't heart him. The Monster, visibly confused, agreed to give Young a second chance, but warned that if anything happened in his match against Booker T later on tonight, there'd be hell to pay.

In in-ring action this week, life-long friends "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage and "War Machine" Rhino were set to go head to head with impressive debutants, Mark and Jay Briscoe. Prior to the match, however, Christian got on the mic and put over Rhino's victory last week, saying he very well could be the next heavyweight champion of the world. Rhino spoke of their friendship throughout their careers, and said that he will do just that. Christian however, informed Rhino that inorder to become heavyweight champion, he may have to fight off the biggest threat to a championship he has ever seen, in the form of "The Instant Classic". Cage mentioned that next week he fights Robert Roode one on one in the final qualifier. Rhino said, even though they are friends, he would have to do what he has to do to get the gold. As things heated up, the two were itnerupted by the music of the Briscoes.

The veterans look to be in complete control, as Christian Cage and Rhino faced off with The Briscoes. Cage worked over Jay with a variety of different menouvers, including a nosteligiac electric-chair drop which his partner Adam Copeland used to utilise in the WWE. Despite a short-lived fight back, Rhino was able to dominate once he was tagged in and both Briscoe brothers were on the end of some fantastic brawling from the War Machine. The match took a turn for the worse, however, when Christian blind-tagged himself in, and went to atomic drop Jay Briscoe, accidently nailing Rhino with Jay's upward kicking legs. Surveying the damage, The Instant Classic was the victim of a Cut Throat Suplex from Mark Briscoe, and the young brothers from Delawere had stolen a victory from the veterans. Post match, Rhino got up angrily and refused to listen to Christian's excuses as he claimed it was an accident.

Beer Money were at Impact! tonight, and were visibly pissed off. Not only had the TNA World Tag Team champions lost last week to a pair of backyard bingo hall nobodies, their calls for their Title match with L.A.X. at Bound For glory to be called off, were rejected by TNA management. Robert Roode claimed TNA management were bias on the basis of jealousy, and he will be having his lawyers look into the matter. James Storm then got on the mic and put over how pissed off he was with the Latin American Xchange, and said that tonight he'd have the oppertunity to vent some of that frustration, when he took on Homicide. Roode and Storm were interupted however, as L.A.X., along with Hector Guerrero and Salinas, hit the ring.

Beer Money member "Cowboy" James Storm and L.A.X. front man Homicide went ahead to put on one of the most vicious non-stipulation brawls in Impact! history, as the two beat the hell out of one another. Neither of the two competitors seemed to be able to get the wood on the other, as they exchanged punches, boots and menouvers. The match looked to be swinging in the favour of L.A.X. after Salinas got involved and distracted James Storm with a stripper-esque dance on the apron. The rouze allowed for Homicide to hit the Cringo Killer, however Robert Roode slid into the ring with a steel chair and nailed him from behind. The referee called for the bell as Hernandez entered the frey and began dueling with Roode, and Salinas and Jaqueline Moore squared off in a cat fight. TNA security hit the ring and broke the two teams up, though it appeared this rivalry will defintiyl be at new heights come Bound For Glory.

Booker T was backstage with Crystal Louthon tonight cutting an interview alongside his wife Sharmell. Booker put himself over as the true Heavyweight Champion of the world, citing his track record in both WCW and WWE. He said that he "beat Jay Lethal two weeks ago, he would beat Abyss tonight, and then go on to beat Rhino at Bound For Glory, sending him straight into the main event, where he would capture the title that ahs been alluding him for the past eight months. Now can you dig that...SUUCCKKKKA!"

In X Division action tonight, former TNA World X Division champion "The X Division Traitor" Johnny Devine, took on Lucha Libre star Rey Bucanero in a match to determine who would face reigning X Division Champion, "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams at Bound For Glory, in the X Division's tradmarl match, you guessed it Ultimate X. In what was a classic cruiserweight enounter, Rey Bucanero was able to pick up the win, following a wheelbarrow piledriver, dubbed the Bucanero Storm, and then the Corkscrew Senton. Bucanero celebrated as Petey Williams appeared on the entrance stage, visibly unimpressed.

Impact! also saw the third qualifier for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament, as "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown battled Matt Morgan. In just his second match back in the company, The Alpha Male was able to pick up the win, following a reversed Hellevator, which lead to an Alpha bomb, and then Da Pounce! Brown would now face the winner of the Christian Cage/Robert Roode match, which takes place next week. Post match, however, the camera man focussed in on the crowd, where a fan was holding a sign saying "I'm seat filling for Kaz".

In Knockout action this week, former WWE and TNA star Trinity, battled it out one on one with former TNA Woman's Champion, Awesome Kong. A fired up Kong looked to win this match with ease as she pulverised Trinity with move after move, including a gorilla press slam and a sit out double underhook face buster. Kong was reluctant to use the Awesome Bomb, opting instead to put Trinity into the torture rack. It looked as if Kong would pick up the victory, however TNA Woman's Champion ODB hit the ring, distracting Kong, and allowing her opponent to score a roll up and edge out the win. Kong, furious after losing, chased ODB to the back.

In what has been one of the shining lights in this bleak time for TNA, Mick Foley made his debut, with his very own segment titled "Barbed Wire and Thumbtacks: The Mick Foley Show". Foley recieved a standing ovation, as he made his way to the ring, featuring a set made up of trash cans, barbed wire, thumbtacks and general wreckage associated with hardcore wrestling. Foley gave his trade mark "Bang Bang" salute, before picking up a microphone and putting the TNA fans over. He called himself a hardcore legend, a wrestling legend, but most importantly, a peoples legend, because it was them who got Foley to the top, not Vince McMahon, not anyone. Foley was then interupted by Sheik Abdul Bashir, who was one of Foley's guests this evening. Bashir blasted Foley in a rant ranging from his appearance and lack of hygeine, to his career built on stunt acts and politics. He said it was people like Foley who kept true legends, like Sabu, from reaching the heights they deserved to. Foley said if there's one thing Mick Foley doesn't do, thats politics. If there's one thing he does do, however, its kicking ass. Foley said he'd love to "put a sock" in Bashir's mouth, but theres someone backstage who wants to do it that much more. With that, Consequences Creed hit the ring and proceeded to jump Bashir and brawl all over the set before Sheik was able to sneak under teh ropes and head back up the entrance. Creed stood tall in the ring alongside Foley, who shook hands before the segment ended.

Impact!'s main event finally got under way, with "The Monster Abyss" taking on TNA Heavyweight Championship contender Booker T. Abyss appeared a tad jaded, as Booker T was able to set the pace for the match and somewhat dominate him. After hitting the Book End, Booker looked certain to win, however Abyss backed out of an Axe Kick, and hit a huge chokeslam to switch momentum. "The Masked Superhero" Super Eric hit the ring however, with a steel chair. He nailed Booker aftaer Abyss Irish whipped him into ropes, making it impossible to hit the Black Hole Slam. Abyss walked over and began screaming at Super Eric, and Booker was able to get the win after rolling him up. Post match, Abyss snapped and through Booker out of the ring. He hit the referee with a Black Hole Slam, and two more referees felt the blunt of his rage as they came out attempting to subdue The Monster. Super Eric headed backstage quickly as Impact! ended for this week...

"One More Stop Before Glory"

On the final Impact! before the biggest pay per view event on the TNA Wrestling calender, Bound For Glory, Booker T made his intentions known as he made his way to the ring, and opened the show bt declaring himself the top runner for the World Heavyweight Championship, when he faces Rhino in the first semi final of the Championship tournament. Booker gave those in attendance a run down of his accomplishments, including his 5-time reign of the WCW World title, and went on to say that the World title reigns of all the other competitors in the tournament do not add to the grand total of his, as he is quite simply, in a league of his own. This bought down "The Alpha Male" Monty Brown, who was due to face the winner of Christian Cage and an unnamed opponent, at Bound For Glory, in the second semi final. Monty Brown wasted no time in telling Booker that he was full of sh*t, and that should Booker somehow manage to wheel his wheelchair into the finals at Bound For Glory, he would undoubtably feel DA POUUUUNNCE!!! The two got in each others faces before security rushed to the ring to seperate them. This is one rivalry sure to heat up should they cross one another at Bound For Glory.

TNA Commissioner Jim Cornette was in attendance tonight, and he announced that at Bound For Glory we would see two more matches; Consequences Creed would take on Sheik Abdul Bashir, and ODB would defend her TNA Womans Championship against Awesome Kong. However, Cornette went on to annoucne that tonight, all four competitors would be involved in mixed tag action, as Kong and Sheik teamed up against ODB and Creed. As for Christian Cage's mystery opponent in the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament, Cornette stated that the fans would have to stay tuned to hear that announcement later in the broadcast.

In mixed tag team action booked by commissioner Jim Cornette just prior, Awesome Kong and Sheik Abdul Bashir managed to defeat their respective Bound For Glory opponents, ODB and Consequences Creed, after Kong delivered the Awesome Bomb to Creed to get the pinfall. The match wasn't without controversy however, as towards the end, Sheik Abdul Bashir ensured ODB would not be able to assist Creed, buy hand cuffing her to the turnbuckle. Bashir also forced her to wear a veil, before Kong managed to pick up the win.

We were also treated to a backstage vignette where TNA World Heavyweight Championship hopeful "War Machine" Rhino, ran into his longtime friend "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage, also a contender in the tournament. Rhino said that Cage cost them the tag match last week on Impact! and that if he wanted to become world champ, he'd have to make sure he didn't make the same mistakes. Christian responded by telling Rhino not to worry about him, and whoever his opponent was, he would ensure he lasted longer than both of Rhino's "World title" reigns put together. Christian smirked before heading off, leaving Rhino fuming.

This week's edition of Impact! also saw impressive newcomers Mark and Jay Briscoe take on "The Monster" Abyss, and the equally masked Shark Boy. Abyss controlled the match from the get go, and used his size and strength to overpower his opponents. However after before making a tag to Shark Boy, Abyss was distracted by an interfering Super Eric, who said he had Abyss' back. Abyss was yelling at The Masked Superhero to get out of here, when Jay Briscoe was able to roll him up and steal the victory. After the match, Abyss picked up the mic and said that at Bound For Glory it would be him, and Super Eric...Eric Young...or whatever the hell he wants to call himself, in a Monster's Ball match!

Bound For Glory opponents, TNA World X Division champion "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams and Rey Bucanero were also in action this week, however Impact! saw them teaming up, against Jimmy Rave and Lance Hoyt, The Rock N Rave Infection. The Ultimate X rivals struggled to maintain any sort of fluency in the match, and were constantly getting in one another's way. The final straw came when Petey Williams refused to tag in, after Bucanero was caught in Rave's Heel Hook submission hold, forcing the lucha star to tap and give up the victory. Williams smiled as he headed backstage, at Bound For Glory, this is a match that no one should miss.

The recent vignettes involving "former" TNA wrestler Kaz continued, when he was yet again spotted in the crowd, weilding a sign which read "Russo, I'll wrestle Knockouts". The camera quickly moved off Kaz, though one has to wonder whether or not the people at TNA management are paying any attention to him...ditto Impact! Zone security.

Jim Cornette was once again on our screens, as he was backstage about to announce the mystery opponent for Christian Cage's tournament qualifier, which was up next. However, also in attendance were Homicide and Hernandez, of the Latin American Xchange, and Robert Roode and "Cowboy" James Storm, of Beer Money. The Bound For Glory opponents eyed each other up as Cornette announced that the opponent would be someone from these two teams. Each made their case known, however it was Robert Roode who Cornette picked, after he guaranteed he could wrestle and win three times on Pay Per View.

So, without further or do, Impact!'s main event got under way, as "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage and Robert Roode did battle in amatch to decide who the final contender, and Monty Brown's opponent, in the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament would be. The match was a back and forth contest, with neither really gaining an advantage on the other. Roode looked like he had the match won a number of times, especially after delivering the Payoff, only to have Christian kick out at the last second. The match ended however, with L.A.X. interfering, Hernandez distracting the referee and Homcide blasting Roode with a steel chair. Christian Cage was then able to hit the Unprettier and pick up the win to seal his spot at Bound For Glory. Post match saw James Storm hit the ring, and the two teams brawled until security seperated them and the show faded out.
