Hulk Hogan announces partnership with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
Monday 2nd November 2009

The rumours have been confirmed, as Hulk Hogan announced at his scheduled book launch at New York's Madison Square Garden that he, alongside former WCW President Eric Bischoff have indeed entered a partnership with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Though the details are sketchy, TNA President Dixie Carter commented after the blockbuster announcement that Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, will indeed feature in TNA's quest for bigger and better things.

"Whether it's on screen or off, has yet to be decided," Miss Carter said of Hogan's role in TNA. "But one thing's for sure, Hogan is the one name that defines wrestling, and we're ecstatic to have him be a part of TNA."

Hogan commented that nowadays wrestlers seem to have lost the art of wrestling, comparing his year long feud with Andre The Giant to the one month instant noodle rivalries the current product provides.

"When Andre and I broke every attendance record this country had set, at Wrestlemania III, that was a year's worth of building and craftmenship," said Hogan of the historic feud. "Nowadays, Shawn Michaels fueds with Triple H one week and they're best friends the next.

"Hulk Hogan will re-teach the world the lost art of pro wrestling."

Hogan did not comment as to whether or not the deal has anything to do with his upcoming Hulkamania Legends of Wrestling tour, scheduled to hit Australian shores in late November, though he did say the tour would not impact on his relationship with TNA.

It was also not confirmed as to what role Eric Bischoff will have, creative or otherwise, though rumours are rife that he is negotiating a possible prime time wrestling show to air Monday nights, up against WWE's flagship show Raw.

Bischoff was the catalyst for World Championship Wrestling's boom in the mid 1990s off the back of the launch of Monday Nitro, which beat Raw over 80 weeks in a row in Neilson ratings.

It is also unknown what effect this will have on the current roster, or creative team, with head writers Vince Russo and Ed Ferrerra known to have a very public dislike for Hogan, a relationship which is mutual.

"I can, and always have been able to work with anyone," Hogan said of the relationship. "But I've told him what I've thought of him once, and I'd do it again, should he step out of line.

"Hulk Hogan hasn't and never will put up with bullsh*t. Vince is no exception."

More details on how this will effect TNA are likely to seep out in the coming days, as TNA President Dixie Carter presents a "State of the Company" address to shareholders tomorrow morning.

iMPACT! goes live and staff say 'bye' as the Hulkamania tidal wave surges through Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
Tuesday 3rd November 2009

Hot off the heels of yesterday's bombshell announcement, that TNA Wrestling and Hulk Hogan had struck out a deal, TNA President Dixie Carter followed up with several more big announcements during a meeting with shareholders this morning.

Ms. Carter announced that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff would indeed be joining the creative team at Total Nonstop Action, spelling the end of tenure for current writers Ed Ferrera and Vince Russo.

Ms. Carter wished the two the best on their future endeavors, thanking them for their service over the past two years.

Equally as big, the TNA President announced that TNA iMPACT! will go live from December 31st onwards, though will still broadcast from the iMPACT Zone at Universal Studios in Florida.

Ms. Carter said that Eric Bischoff will act as Production Executive for the show, but declared it will indeed remain a Thursday night broadcast, ruling out any chance of a new Monday Night War.

"TNA isn't here to repeat history," said Carter. "We're here to make it."

Perhaps of a less magnitude, but interesting none the less, was Ms. Carter's announcement that Total Nonstop Action Wrestling had forged a relationship with cult pay per view promotion Dragon Gate USA.

Carter announced that their would be a talent exchange between the two companies, as Dragon Gate faced tough times in Japan, though were seeking to expand domestically in the United States.

TNA's President was quick to shoot down any chance of TNA talent featuring on Dragon Gate pay per views, however, though did signal the intention to promote Dragon Gate talent on TNA broadcasting.

Regarding the possibility of seeing Hogan on screen, Carter neither confirmed nor denied, stating that anything was possible.

"If Hulk has something that needs to be said, or done, nothing has stopped him in the past," said Carter. "Hulkamania could very well run wild at the iMPACT! Zone."

Ms. Carter confirmed the parting of ways between TNA Wrestling and founder Jeff Jarrett, who had not been seen on television or backstage for months.

Huge changes in TNA's roster and title picture in the wake of Hulk Hogan joining company
Tuesday 3rd November 2009

As expected, the arrival of Hulk Hogan has also sent shockwaves through TNA's wrestling roster, as the biggest announcement in the company's history continues to spring suprises.

We can confirm that a number of talent have either left on their own accord, been forced to leave or have not had their contracts renewed, within the past 48 hours.

Though details are sketchy as to the releases of the talent, our sources can confirm that the names set to follow have indeed parted ways with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling:

Traci Brooks
Stevie Richards
So Cal Val
Scott Steiner
Sally Boy
Lacey Von Erich
Kip James
Jesse Neal
Trevor Murdock
Hector Guerrero
Cody Deaner
Bobby Lashley
Team 3D
Big Rocco
Ashley Lane
Christy Hemme

It is believed that Bobby Lashley has left the company in order to secure a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, whilst Team 3D have left to persue a full time career with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

We assume that Scott Steiner has left due to his shaky relationship with Hulk Hogan, and out of loyalty to Jeff Jarrett.

TNA Wrestling has also announced the discontinuation of the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships, as well as the Legends Championship.

TNA raids the indies as the comapany seeks to rebuild its roster
Tuesday 2nd November 2009

In more news regarding changes to TNA's talent roster in the wake of the signing of Hulk Hogan, it has been reported that a number of talent from the American, Japanese and Mexican wrestling scenes have signed deals with the company.

Nick and Matt Jackson, better known as the Young Bucks, who have featured on Dragon Gate pay per view and have drawn critical acclaim for their resemblance (physical and talent) to the Rockers, have reportadly signed full time deals with the company, as have the hard hitting Ring of Honor tag team of Jon Davis and Kory Jarvis, better known as the Dark City Fight Club.

Former WWE cruiserweight and tag team star Paul London is also said to have signed a deal with the company, as has CMLL lucha star Rey Bucanero, who featured in 2008's World X Cup.

Staying with CMLL and lucha libre, it is rumoured that TNA has snapped up the services of Ultimo Guerrero and the legendary Mistico, though the nature of these deals is unknown at this point in time.

The talent exchange deal with Dragon Gate USA has meant many are speculating that Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino will return to the company in some form or another, after their participation in last year's World X Cup. Other names being thrown around are Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk and Yokosuka.

Perhaps the biggest announcement, however, is the apparent signing of former Ring of Honor World Champion Nigel McGuinness, who failed a screening test with the WWE just this past week. Nigel can be confirmed as being backstage at tonight's tapings, so we do assume he will be featuring in the coming weeks' broadcasts.

Other names being thrown around more loosley are Rob Van Dam, Ric Flair, Ken Anderson and the Nasty Boys, though these are strictly rumours at this point in time.

Changes to TNA's PPV schedule immanent as iMPACT! is set to go live; Nigel McGuinness and Paul London backstage at last night's tapings
Wednesday 3rd November

As reported earlier, TNA's flagship television show is set to go live in it's first broadcast of the new year. It should also be noted that TNA's pay per view contract also runs out in December, so expect to see some changes to their schedule, particularly as Dixie Carter sees 12 PPVs per year as being too difficult to produce quality programming for.

However, in the meanwhile, TNA has confirmed that November and December of 2009 will still feature pay per view events. December will air Final Resolution, whereas November will air Turning Point, in four weeks time. Both will run for three hours, and both will take place within the iMPACT! Zone.

It can be confirmed that Nigel McGuinness and Paul London were both backstage at yesterday's tapings for the next two weeks of iMPACT! Nigel did not work a match, however Paul London did, with Christopher Daniels in what has been described by those backstage as a very well worked bout.

Expect to see more of these two superstars as TNA moves forward in the coming months.

TNA iMPACT!
Thursday 5th November

This week’s edition of iMPACT! opened up with TNA Heavyweight Champion of the World, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles addressing the iMPACT! Zone regarding the match he won against “The Icon” Sting this past Sunday at Bound For Glory. Styles said that he always knew he had it in him to beat Sting, but to prove it to the rest of the locker room, the TNA board of officials and the fans all over the world has cemented his spot as the best wrestler in the world today. This brought out “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan, who after a closely fought loss with Kurt Angle at Bound For Glory, commented that much like AJ was, he is ready to take that next step. Morgan then launched a challenge for Styles’ World Championship, however before AJ could make his decision, the Phenomenal One was interrupted by the beating drums of “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe. Contrary to the past couple of months, Samoa Joe came to the ring minus his face paint and traditional Samoan attire, opting instead for jeans and t-shirt. Joe questioned the legitimacy of Morgan’s challenge, stating that he never got his rematch when he lost the title some six months ago, suggesting that perhaps Styles is as yellow bellied as the man who stole the belt from him. AJ, clearly agitated at Joe’s statement, said he would love to put the belt on the line against either of the men, however there can only be one contender for Turning Point and the two of them should prove their worth in tonight’s main event. Morgan nodded his head in agreement, as Joe reluctantly accepted the terms, with Styles suggesting his reluctance to be a front for cowardliness. “Tonight we find out who is truly yellow bellied, Joe”.

After breaking for a commercial, we headed for the first match of the evening, where former TNA World Tag Team and X Division Champion, Hernandez took on the co-leader of the World Elite, Sheik Abdul Bashir. Hernandez dominated the match with a series of power moves, almost getting the cover thanks to a thunderous seated power bomb. It was Bashir, however, who exited the ring in tact, after his stable mates Eric Young, Kiyoshi and Hernandez’ former tag team partner Homicide, as well as the British Invasion, interrupted the match and laid Hernandez out with steel chairs. The referee called for the bell as James Storm and Robert Roode ran in to make the save, the damage, however, already done. Though they may have win this battle, they had not won the war, as Hernandez’ hand was raised in the air for victory and Beer Money Inc. motioned at his attackers for revenge.

Returning to tonight’s show from a commercial, we found Nikki Roxx and Sarita backstage chatting. Their conversation did not last long, however, as they were interrupted by Velvet Sky, who scoffed at the two and their fashion faux pas. Velvet then decided she needed a second opinion, after which, she was joined by her former Beautiful People stalemate, Angelina Love, who announced her return to TNA. The blonde bombshells declared the Beautiful People had “trimmed the fat” – literally – and got rid of Lacey Von Erich and Madison Rayne, before snubbing the other two, saying they were not worthy of their company. The segment ended with Roxx and Sarita clearly offended, and somewhat dumbfounded by the Beautiful People’s statements.

iMPACT! Also featured Jeremy Borash conducting an interview with TNA’s World X Division champion, The Amazing Red and his agent, Don West, who dubbed his client the most athletic wrestler in the world today – bar none. West said the Red proved this at Bound For Glory, and will prove it again, this time up against an opponent who is scared to reveal their true identity. Don West claimed Suicide, Shark Boy, Delirious and Dragon Kid all had little marketability and zero merchandising value, and the winner of their four corners match is revealed, The Amazing Red will prove this by ripping their mask off and showing the world just how ugly and un-amazing they truly are,

We returned to iMPACT! for the second match of the evening, a fourway between Suicide, Shark Boy, the returning Delirious and the debuting Dragon Kid, from Japan, the winner of which would be crowned number one contender for the TNA World X Division Championship. The match itself was a fast paced affair, as expected, with plenty of aerial offence from all four competitors. Dragon Kid wowed fans when he launched to ringside from the top rope and connected with Shark Boy to deliver a Dragoncaranna, however it was Suicide who managed to pick up the win, evading Shadows Over Hell from Delirious and nailing the Suicide Solution to secure his position as number one contender.

Kurt Angle was present this week on iMPACT! as he made his way to ringside and delivered an emotion-rousing speech, admitting he was wrong when it came to the ability of AJ Styles, of Matt Morgan, of Jay Lethal, of the Motor City Machine Guns. The Olympic Gold Medallist said that he had watched the “boys grow in to men”, and that the wrestlers backstage did indeed have his respect. Angle’s declaration garnered a huge cheer from the crowd, though this was quickly drowned out by the music of one Christopher Daniels, who for some reason did not appear all that happy. Daniels, cut quickly to the chase, making it clear that unlike the boys in the back, he did not need Angle’s respect, nor did he want it. “I was here before you Kurt, I will be here after you Kurt, if anything Angle, and you should respect me.” The crowd booed as Angle looked visibly puzzled by The Fallen Angel’s rant, claiming he was “Mr. TNA” and put this company on the map. Angle said he understood Daniels played a major role in TNA’s early success, however his olive branch extension was cut short as Daniels laid Kurt out with a vicious right hand, before pummelling away on the Olympic Gold Medallist. Security quickly stormed to ringside, dragging the two apart as Christopher Daniels smirked disgustingly as a bloodied Kurt Angle lay stunned against the turnbuckle.

After the break, we once again found ourselves backstage, this time Jeremy Borash was with the Motor City Machine Guns. The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin had gained a huge amount of popularity thanks in part to their unique ring presence and varied array of explosive manoeuvres, Recently, however, the team has shunned away the support from the TNA faithful, and tonight was no different, as Shelley put it, “you did not care for us when we were leaping from steel structures or climbing 15 foot wires, so why should we care for you”. Sabin agreed, saying that “in this company unless you are over 40, or dress in clothes that make you look like a Halloween trick-or-treater, you never get the opportunities you truly deserve.” The Guns then turned their attention to the team of Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed, together known as Lethal Consequences. Sabin made it clear that next week they will beat Lethal Consequences and go on to Turning Point to face the British Invasion for the TNA World Tag Team Championships. Alex Shelley ended the segment, claiming that not only will they beat Lethal Consequences, they will prove to the world why they are the best tag team in the business today, “and we won’t let a midget in a Macho Man figurine’s clothing prove us wrong”.

There was trouble in Awesome Kong’s camp this week on iMPACT! as the former Knockouts Champion was seen arguing with her former handler, Raisha Saeed, in the locker area. Saeed attempted to calm her client after it was revealed she was not the number one contender in tonight’s Knockouts Championship match, and that Tara would in fact be challenging for ODB’s gold. This sent Kong into a fit of rage, scooping Saeed up over her shoulder and ramming her head into the side of a locker, all but severing the arrangement between the two. Kong concluded the segment stating that “tonight, Kong take no more. Tonight, Kong hurt people!”

We then ventured back to ringside, as the third match of the evening was getting under way, as TNA Knockouts Champion ODB would defend her title against Tara. The match proved to be very popular with the TNA faithful in the iMPACT! Zone, both competitors enjoying support from the crowd. ODB dominated the match early, using her unorthodox brawling style to get on top of the challenger. Tara gained control after reversing a body slam with a hammerlock takedown, and began working over the champ’s right arm with a series of holds, culminating in a hammerlock/camel clutch hybrid. ODB, however, refused to give up, and after feeding off the energy of the crowd, was able to gain enough leverage to break the hold and launch a comeback. The champ hit her patented Dirty Dozen corner punches, and seemed destined for victory as she scooped Tara up for the running power slam. However, the damage done to her arm earlier proved to be costly, as the challenger was able slither her way out of the move, nailing the Widows Peak to pick up the victory and the championship in doing so. Tara’s celebration was short-lived though, as out of nowhere the new champ was nailed with a spinning back fist from an enraged Awesome Kong. The crowd booed in a frenzy, the commentators remaining silent, as Kong dismantled both Tara and ODB with an all out assault, delivering an Awesome Bomb on both knockouts. Kong indeed had hurt people, and tonight the entire world was shook by the brutal force that is Awesome Kong.

Before iMPACT!’s main event could get under way, viewers were caught off guard as the telecast was cut off by static interruption. In its place we were shown the footage of a spiked individual wearing sunglasses, standing in a dimly lit room. The man, speaking in a heavy West End of London accent, addressed the camera harshly, claiming that he had travelled the world to wrestle, from Germany to Japan, from Mexico to Canada, and that now it was time for the world of TNA to learn why the British style is the most vicious and unruly in all of wrestling. As music, heavily influenced by the Sex Pistols played in the background, the man conjured up images of the late Davey Boy Smith, saying that he had been there when “Bulldog demolished Bret Hart in ‘92”, and ever since, has dreamt of wreaking havoc in the States himself. Finally the man removed his sunglasses, and steering hard in to the camera, announced himself to be “Nigel McGuinness, and if you wankers in TNA Wrestling don’t want to feel the brunt of my violence, you can all piss off”. The segment cut back to regular viewing with another static transition, but not before the words “NiGeL McGuiNNeS – coming soon to TNA” appeared on screen, in a ransom-note typeface.

iMPACT!’s main event finally got under way, as “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan looked to prove his worth to the wrestling world as he took on “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, in a match which would determine the number one contender to AJ Styles’ TNA World Heavyweight Championship. The match lasted nearly 20 minutes as both athletes jostled for superiority, Joe dominating early thanks to an array of snap suplexes. Morgan fought back, matching Samoa Joe’s power and strength with his own, landing a huge brainbuster on the former World Champion, after suspending him in the air for close to a minute. Joe fought back however, resorting to underhanded tactics and delivering a mule kick when Morgan attempted a German Suplex. Samoa Joe, wearing his original wrestling attire, also took his move set to the old school, delivering a vicious Face Wash to the Blueprint. Joe appeared to have the match won as he went for the Muscle Buster, however Morgan was able to roll out of the manoeuvre, run into the ropes and hit Joe with the Carbon Footprint and made the cover. Morgan’s success was short-lived, as the referee ruled Matt Morgan’s pinfall illegal as Joe’s foot was on the rope. Matt Morgan, visibly disappointed with the ref’s call, pleaded his case, however in doing so turned his attention away from his opponent, allowing the Samoan Submission Machine to slap on the Coquina Clutch and force the Blueprint to tap out. The crowd booed as Samoa Joe’s hand was raised in victory, Joe performing a “throat-slice” taunt to the camera, as the broadcast came to a close for the evening.

Quick Results:
Hernandez def. Sheik Abdul Bashir
Suicide def. Delirious, Shark Boy and Dragon Kid
Tara def. ODB for the TNA Knockouts Championship
Samoa Joe def. Matt Morgan

Confirmed for next week:
Motor City Machine Guns v Lethal Consequences
Christopher Daniels v Paul London

Confirmed for Turning Point:
TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles (c) v Samoa Joe

Debutants & returns galore; Two injuries
Friday 6th November

It should be noted that Dragon Kid made his first appearance ever in TNA last night when we worked a match with Suicide, Delirious and Shark Boy. Dragon Kid has worked almost enitrely with Dragon Gate in Japan, but has spent some time in Ring of Honor in the past. Dragon Kid has also worked with Dragon Gate USA recently in the US, and this appearance seems to be a result of the recent talent exchange programme between the two companies. Here is some footage of Dragon Kid's past work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBs8XqUyLDY

As said above, Delirious also debuted in TNA, though it should be noted that he has worked with the company in small roles before. The masked wrestler has worked almost exclusivly in the indy circuit, making a name for himself in Ring of Honor, and has also worked many shows for comedy promotion CHIKARA. There is no word on what sort of deal Delirious has, it could quite possibly be a one-off appearance. Here is some footage of Delirious' past work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD1oaqt6laY

Angeline Love also returned in an unexpected segment on last night's broadcast of TNA iMPACT! Love had previously left the company after having some visa issues, however it appears as a result of the partnership with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff that things have been able be sped up with regards to these sorts of issues. Love will return full time for the promotion.

Hamada has been injured, working a dark match with Daffney during the tapings and will be out for a month. Robert Roode injured himself during the run in angle at the conclusion of Hernandez' match with Sheik Abdul Bashir which aired on last night's broadcast of iMPACT! Roode missed the second taping and will also miss the next two, due to an injury he sustained to his knee. The injury doesn't appear to be that serious, though TNA officials are not going to run the risk of losing one of their top tag talents for a longer period of time. There is no word as to whether or not this will hurt the possibility of him appearing at Turning Point.

TNA iMPACT!
Thursday 12th November

This week’s edition of TNA iMPACT! kicked off with Samoa Joe, who made his way to ringside wearing his traditional wrestling attire, though still retained his Nation of Violence t-shirt. Joe made no hesitation in grabbing a mic, declaring himself as the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, saying “it is only a matter of time before I take back what is rightfully mine”. Joe’s declaration was cut short however, as he was interrupted by the music of the champ himself, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Styles entered the ring and grabbed a mic for himself, congratulating Joe on beating Matt Morgan, however disagreeing with Joe’s assertion regarding their match at Turning Point. The Samoan Submission Machine pointed out that Styles had never beaten him in one-on-one competition, and that “no one has sent you to the hospital more times than I have, AJ, and at Turning Point, it will be no different.” The Phenomenal One agreed the two had had many wars in the past, however, the difference is this time, Styles is the World Heavyweight Champion. “This time, Joe, I am the best in the world, and there’s only one thing more dangerous than a hungry challenger, and that’s a ravenous champion.” The two got in each other’s faces, however it was Joe who backed off first, suggesting the two show what their made of in tonight’s main event, where they team up to take on TNA World Tag Team Champions, The British Invasion, in a non title match up. Styles concluded the segment with “Oh it’s on Joe, it’s on” before iMPACT! broke for a commercial.

When we returned to the broadcast, it was time to determine who would challenge the British Invasion for the TNA World Tag Team Championships at Turning Point, where Lethal Consequences, that is the team of “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed, were set to take on Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns. Prior to the referee ringing the bell, however, the Guns made a point to get a mic from ringside, with Alex Shelley announcing that tonight the Motor City Machine Guns take the next step and claim their rightful spot at the top of the tag team food chain when they beat Lethal Consequences tonight. Sabin then grabbed the mic from his tag team partner, finishing with the berating of the audience in attendance, stating “and there is nothing any of you Motor City Machine Guns traitors can do about it.”

The match itself was a high impact affair with neither team gaining a clear advantage over the other. As expected, the Guns hit hard with their unique double team offence, nailing their opponents with a vast array of tandem manoeuvres. Their opponents, driven by the applause of the crowd, managed to hold their own, Consequences Creed nailing a springboard drop kick, Jay Lethal following up with a springboard “Macho” Elbow Drop. After a back and forth encounter. however, it was Sabin and Shelley who secured their position as number one contenders, hitting the “Made In Detroit” sit out powerbomb/sliced bread combination to claim the victory.

After the first match of the evening, we headed backstage where Jeremy Borash was standing by with the new TNA Knockouts Champion, Tara. Tara told JB that she felt ecstatic to be champion once again, her first time since being here in TNA. The new champ applauded the effort put in by ODB, calling her one of the toughest opponents she’s ever had to face off with. JB, however, ruined the sentiments by bringing up the situation with Awesome Kong, who after the title match last week, entered the ring and laid both competitors out with an Awesome Bomb. Tara responded by saying that Kong had put a damper on things, and both her and ODB are still feeling a little worse for wear after being dropped on their necks post match. She finished by stating that her and ODB will try and put that behind them when they team up to face Daffney and Kong’s former handler Raisha Saeed later on tonight, warning Kong to stay out of the affair.

When we returned from the commercial break, the second match of the evening was set to get under way as TNA’s X Division continued it’s recent expansion movement, with Dragon Kid, who made his debut last week, set to take on lucha libre star Ultimo Guerrero, who made his debut at last year’s World X Cup tournament. The fans showed their appreciation for both athletes as the ring was littered with streamers, and a fast paced, action packed exhibition followed, with plenty of high impact manoeuvres on display. Dragon Kid hit a variety of different head scissor and hurricaranna variations, whilst Ultimo Guerrero nailed his opponent with a rolling powerbomb, followed up with a springboard moonsault. Neither opponent could get an advantage, however the referee was forced to bring the match to an end, when X Division champion The Amazing Red made his way to the ring with manager Don West in tow, laying both wrestlers out with steel chairs and proceeding to try and pull their respective masks off. Red’s siege was short lived however, as Suicide, who will face Amazing Red for his title next week, entered the fray and made the save. The crowd roared as all three masked men challenged Red to return to the ring, one which came to no avail.

iMPACT! then once again headed backstage, as Jeremy Borash was standing by with “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle. Angle cut straight to the chase, standing by his comments made about his respect for every single wrestler in the TNA locker room, though the actions of Christopher Daniels last week have certainly made him question this. Angle stated that last Thursday, the assault at the hands of the Fallen Angel proved nothing to him with regards to earning respect, however there was something that it did prove. “Daniels, last week you did prove something. You proved you were a coward. And my record speaks for itself with regards to how I deal with cowards.” Angle closed the interview by saying that sooner, rather than later, he will step in the ring with Daniels, the result of which will not be pretty. “Oh it’s real, it’s DAMN REAL!”

TNA iMPACT! then broadcasted its third match of the evening, with last week’s opponents teaming up, in ODB and Tara, to take on the knockout tandem of Daffney and Raisha Saeed – three of which were visibly shaken up after assaults at the hands of an enraged Awesome Kong. The match was a sluggish affair, with the battened and bruised competitors struggling to piece any momentum together, though it was the fresher Daffney who dominated, hitting the Lobotomy on ODB for a near fall. The bizarre knockout was unable to match the technical prowess of the TNA Knockouts Champion, however, and Tara picked up the victory for her team utilising the Widows Peak. Her and ODB’s celebrations were cut short, however, as Awesome Kong made her way to the ring once more, demolishing both the victors and the defeated in a surprise attack from behind. Kong once again dropped Tara with an Awesome Bomb, this time into the turnbuckle, causing the top rope to snap. The crowd gasped in shock, as Kong wiped the blood of her victims on her face, the broadcast team cutting backstage immediately in an attempt to censor the events that just transpired.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash was standing by with the entire stable of the World Elite, JB visibly distraught over what had just happened in the ring. JB questioned the Elite as to whether or not they felt any remorse over the attack of Hernandez last week, and the subsequent injury that occurred to Robert Roode when Beer Money Inc. attempted to make the save. Eric Young cut JB off by saying that World Elite does not feel any remorse for a fallen American when this country ensures the destruction and decadence of cultures world wide on a daily basis. Sheik Abdul Bashir agreed, citing the current war in the Middle East as proof of America’s wreaking of torment, and so when something like that happened to Robert Roode, some may call it the chickens coming home to roost. Homicide then made his way to the forefront of the group, calling Hernandez a sell out and a “b*tch *ss puto”, suggesting the whole thing a rouse to place more blame on the minorities in this country. “You know Hernandez, I’m from Brooklyn, homie, America’s toilet bowl. I’d be lying if I didn’t think this was a plan to flush the so-called piece of sh*t, Homicide, away. Well I don’t play like that homie, we’ll be seein’ you, you best believe that big man.” Homicide’s threats were followed up by the British Invasion’s Doug Williams, who stated that they had a match to prepare for, “so with all due respects JB, piss off will ya.”

When we returned to iMPACT! the ring crew were just finalising the repairs to the ring rope and turnbuckle, when the fourth match of the evening was about to get under way. First to the ring was a man who needed little introduction though was making his TNA debut, former WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London, who was to take on “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels. The match was a clinic, with both competitors showcasing their technical prowess, Daniels getting on the bad side of the audience when he interrupted London’s attempt at a moonsault from the top turnbuckle, by kicking the rope and sending him into a tree-of-woe position. The Fallen Angel followed up with a series of stomps to the chest, followed by a blatant choke using his foot, which was eventually broken up by the referee. Though London fought gallantly to remain in the match, nailing a springboard DDT, he never really recovered, and it was Daniels who scored the victory, hitting the Angel’s Wings, followed up with the Best Moonsault Ever to earn the pinfall. After the match, Daniels grabbed a mic from ringside, screaming through the PA system, that “that’s how you dismantle an opponent, Kurt. That’s how you earn respect. You will respect me Kurt, if it’s the last thing you do.”

After cutting to a commercial, Mike Tenay and Taz noted that former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mick Foley was standing backstage with some big news regarding his future in the company. However, before we could cut to Mrs. Foley’s baby boy, we were once again subject to static in the broadcast, and much like last week, viewers found themselves subject to a special announcement from British hooligan/punk, Nigel McGuinness. McGuinness, wearing sunglasses, street clothes with his hair in blonde spikes, began to comment on the state of the locker room, questioning their toughness and tenacity in and outside of the ring as a punk-rock soundtrack played in the background. “I’m from the West End of London, where a brick to the face aint’ nuffin unusual on the way back from the football. You best believe, TNA, that you will feel the force of a brick to the face when I make my debut in three weeks time. I am Nigel McGuinness, and if any of you wankers think you can escape the brunt of my violence, you can all piss off!”. The segment ended with McGuinness removing his sunglasses and snarling in to the camera, before cutting with static back to our regular broadcast, where Mick Foley was standing backstage.

Foley commented that since coming to TNA his expectations of what he expected his role to be have been surpassed by the amount of energy and excitement the wrestlers have presented to him, on a weekly basis. Mick noted that his role as shareholder in TNA has not changed, and he still has a part to play in the continued development and success of the product. However, after taking a series of nasty shots at Bound For Glory, he has announced that he will be retiring from in ring action. Foley followed this statement up by saying that he will instead be utilising his talents in another way, announcing the beginning of his own segment which he calls “Barbed Wire and Thumbtacks: The Mick Foley Show”. Foley culminated his announcement by saying that his first guests will be Velvet Sky and Angelina Love, better known as the Beautiful People. Just as Foley finished, both Sky and Love walked into view, raising their noses at Foley before spraying him with perfume and sarcastically commenting “ugh, he’s even uglier with the Mask on”

This week’s main event saw the team of TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles and the contender for his title, “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, take on TNA World Tag Team Champions Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams, of the British Invasion, in a non-title match up. The match itself saw the champ and contender dominate throughout, with neither member of the Invasion looking likely to score the pinfall. Styles wowed the audience with his ability to evade the attack of Brutus Magnus, reversing an Irish Whip before leaping up with a drop kick. Samoa Joe, on the other hand, showed his brute strength, hitting a snap STO on Magnus before nailing a release Tiger suplex on Doug Williams. The match seemed destined to be over, however the British Invasion’s enforcer, Rob Terry, attempted to get involved, only to be hit with the Pele from Styles, followed up with a facewash from Samoa Joe. AJ was able to hit the Styles Clash on Williams and pick up the victory, though his teammate looked far from impressed as Joe got in AJ’s face, accusing him of stealing his thunder. The two began exchanging verbal insults before security hit ringside to put an early end to the eventual meltdown of the situation. iMPACT! concluded with Samoa Joe and AJ Styles wrestling with security to get a piece of one another, before coming to a close.

Quick Results:
The Motor City Machine Guns def. Lethal Consequences
Tara and ODB def. Daffney and Raisha Saeed
Dragon Kid drew with Ultimo Guerrero
Christopher Daniels def. Paul London
Samoa Joe and AJ Styles def. The British Invasion

Confirmed for next week:

WWE raid indies as TNA's stock rises; X Division X-pansion
Wednesday 18th November

It has been reported by a number of new sites that the WWE has secured the services of Ring of Honor stalwarts Claudio Castagnoli and Austin Aries. as well as former ECW star Steve Corino.

It is interesting to note that as TNA's ratings have increased by .5 as a result of the publicity garnered by the deal inked with Hulk Hogan, many feel that their stars will garner much more mainstream attention than they previously had.

One may speculate that the signing Aries and Castagnoli in particular may be a response to the stale main event scene that currently plagues the WWE.

Also of interesting note is TNA's recent expansion of the X Division, to include new talent, many of whom are not under fixed contract deals. Recent broadcasts have featured Delirious, Dragon Kid and Ultimo Guerrero, none of whom appear to be on full time contracts, as well as former WWE Tag Team Champion Paul London.

It can also be confirmed that in this week's tapings, all of the above will feature in matches, as will Nick and Matt Jackson, better known as the Young Bucks, who will make their debut working a match with Homicide and Eric Young which will air on this week's broadcast.

The Young Bucks have worked primarily with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, though gained critical acclaim through their work on the NWA Showcase programme, appearances on ROH on HDNet and their pay per view appearance with Dragon Gate USA. It should be noted that their appearance in TNA is not a result of the talent exchange with Dragon Gate, the duo are under full time deals. past work of The Young Bucks can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBp31jtygr4

TNA iMPACT!
Thursday 19th November

TNA iMPACT! for this week opened up with a video package highlighting the recent change in direction within TNA the past couple of weeks, particularly with the focus on in ring action. The video concludes by the return of the slogan “TNA, We Are Wrestling”

Following the video package, the action was almost immediate, as this week’s iMPACT! kicked off with the TNA World X Division Championship match, where champion The Amazing Red looked to defend his title against the challenger in Suicide. Red utilised his speed early on, evading attack from Suicide and mounting a counter-offence through springboard elbows, drop kicks and a moonsault/DDT combination. Suicide lived up to his name, taking multiple risks, including a crossbody block to the outside, and a diving springboard plancha. All throughout the match both Red and his manager Don West attempted to de-mask Suicide, all attempts of which came to no avail. The match came to an end, however, when Suicide attempted to land the Suicide Solution, only for The Amazing Red to rip half of Suicide’s mask off, forcing the masked wrestler to drop Red in an attempt to keep his identity a secret. This allowed Red to hit Code Red to an unsuspecting Suicide, and retain the X Division title. The controversy was not over, however, as post match, Don West entered the ring and announced to those in attendance that tonight we find out the true identity of Suicide. As Red held Suicide’s lifeless body, Don West attempted to rip his mask right off, that is until Shark Boy hit the ring, forcing Don West and The Amazing Red to head for the hills as the numbers had been equalled. The fans cheered as Shark Boy propped Suicide up in the corner, reassuring him that Don West and The Amazing Red’s scheme had not come to fruition.

Coming back from commercial break, TNA iMPACT! followed Jeremy Borash backstage as he looked to get comment from “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle, who was in the process of arriving. JB asked Angle as to whether or not he heard Christopher Daniels’ comments last week following his match with Paul London, where he said he would dismantle Kurt Angle to the point where we will have no choice but to respect him. Angle responded by saying that he had in fact heard Daniels’ tirade, but refuted the Fallen Angel’s remarks, stating that no on has EVER dismantled Kurt Angle, and regardless of the result, Daniels’ attitude in the past couple of weeks has led him to believe he may never respect him.

Back to ringside, and the audience was getting set for the second match of the evening, where Daffney and Nikki Roxx were set to do battle in Knockouts action. The match was definitely a clash of styles, Roxx seeking to outpace her opponent with Irish whip offence, whereas Daffney opted for her unorthodox brawling style, seeking to pummel her opponent into the mat in order to gain victory. After an even contest, it seemed as if Roxx had the match won after nailing Daffney with the Barbie Crusher. However any hopes of securing the win were dashed when the brutal Awesome Kong made her way to the ring, once again demolishing the contenders in a match. The crowd booed as Kong delivered an Awesome Bomb to both competitors, venting her rage in a way that has become all too familiar in recent weeks. Audience members were left wondering, who was going to put an end to Kong’s recent streak of violence?

We then headed backstage to where the Motor City Machine Guns were standing by with Jeremy Borash, both Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley maintaining their cool despite being crowned number one contenders to the TNA Tag Team Championships, which they will fight for at the upcoming pay per view event, turning Point, in a week and a half’s time. It was Alex Shelley who left no stones unturned, bagging the fans and critics alike for thinking it couldn’t be done. Sabin commented that the Guns once again proved to the world that no one can outwrestle the best tag team in the business today, and at Turning Point they will prove it again. As Sabin was finishing, the team was joined by Brutus Magnus, Doug Williams and Rob Terry of the British Invasion, who cockily stared down their opponents before giving an over confident snigger and walking away, not even giving their opponents enough credit to even warrant a response. Alex Shelley responded to the British Invasion’s actions by yelling “You’ll see, Invasion, you’ll see!” Sabin following up by pushing Jeremy Borash against the wall, and storming off, irate at the conduct displayed by the British Invasion.

Following a commercial break, we headed once again backstage to where Hernandez and James Storm were standing by with Jeremy Borash, visibly shaken by the recent run ins the two have had with various members of the World Elite. Storm commented that the Elite had put his best friend out of action for a month, so there was no doubt that things had gotten personal. Hernandez, also on the subject of personal issues, made no qualms about his former tag team partner Homicide, refuting claims that he was a sell out to the revolution, stating “no one, and I mean no one, has made ore inroads for Latin American people in the world of professional wrestling in recent years, than me!” Storm followed up by calling Eric Young and Sheik Abdul Bashir crybabies, to afraid to get off their ass and fight for their opportunity and expecting everything to be handed to them. Hernandez finished the segment by stating that the Latin American Xchange and Beer Money Inc. will have their revenge, and for the World Elite to watch their backs later on tonight during their tag team match.

Samoa Joe was also on hand this week on iMPACT! as he headed to the ring, certainly not dressed to wrestle: wearing jeans and his “Nation of Violence” t-shirt. Joe quickly grabbed a mic, and began addressing his opponent at Turning Point, TNA World Heavyweight Champion, AJ Styles. Joe once more made a point out of noting that Styles has never beaten Joe one on one, going further as to saying that Styles cannot win without the support of Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine commented that all throughout each other’s careers, Styles has had he backing of Samoa Joe in everything he did, yet all throughout Joe’s career, Styles has never once given him the support he needed and deserved. Joe said that as a result, Joe has had to fight for everything on his own, toughening himself up mentally, as well as physically, something AJ has never had to do. Joe bought up AJ’s past, first commenting that Styles always had Christopher Daniels to fall back on, and later on Christian Cage and Tomko. “However now its just you on your own, AJ. And at Turning Point, I intend to send you to the hospital, on your own”. Joe concluded the segment by reiterating the fact that Styles cannot win without the support of Joe.

Following a commercial break, it was time for our third match of the evening, with “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle set to take on his former Main Event Mafia ally, Kevin Nash, who was set to make his return to TNA after a 3 week hiatus. The crowd was incredibly hot for this match, and roared as the two men shook hands before the bout go under way, showing a mutual sign of respect. The match itself did not last long, as Angle methodically picked a part the veteran’s legs, common knowledge saying they weren’t in the best shape. Nash did fight back briefly, though after whipping Angle into the ropes, the Olympic Gold Medallist was able to catch Nash’s foot when trying for a big boot, locking in the Ankle Lock and forcing him to submit almost instantly. As Angle was in the process of celebrating, the festivities were cut short as “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels appeared at the top of the entrance way, mic in hand and mockingly applauding Angle’s win. Kurt grabbed a mic of his own, challenging Daniels to step in to the ring right now. The Fallen Angel declined, stating that he wanted to dismantle Kurt Angle on a bigger stage, he wanted to end his career on pay per view! Daniels challenged Kurt to a match at Turning Point, which Angle accepted instantly, only for Daniels to have the last words: “You’d better have that neck checked out before hand, Kurt, because after I snap it at Turning Point, you may not be able to walk again, let alone wrestle.”

TNA iMPACT! also featured tag teams in action, this time it was Eric Young and Homicide, with Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir at ringside, doing battle with a team on debut, Matt and Nick Gunn, “The Young Gunns”. The crowd were pleasantly surprised as the long haired rookies managed to get in some offence on their opponents, utilising a variety of different double team manoeuvres to get a slight advantage on their much more experienced foes. However, it did not take long before Homicide and Young were on top, Homicide dodging a clothesline attempt from Nick Gunn, sending him over the top ropes and landing Tope Con Hilo on the unsuspecting rookie. Eric Young got the pinfall, as after Matt Gunn landed a jaw shattering super kick, Bashir at ringside was able to distract the referee. This allowed Kiyoshi to grab a steel chair and nail the rookie, meaning Homicide could sneak under the rope place Young in the lateral press, the referee counting the pin fall. The World Elite then proceeded to beat down upon the rookies, however it did not take long before Hernandez and James Storm to join the fray, hitting the ring to make the save for the impressive debutants.

Once again viewers were victims of a break in broadcast, as another of Nigel McGuinness’ vignettes cut into regular programming. This time, Nigel was shown to be standing in a wrestling gym opposite a generic sparring partner. Nigel, wearing black wrestling tights with a bloodied Union Jack on the rear and his trademark blonde spikes, commented to the camera that in two weeks time he will wreak havoc in the TNA wrestling ring, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Nigel announced that he has been handpicked by TNA management to lead a British team as the company revives its World X Cup competition, so he will be able to decapitate opponents from all over the world for your viewing pleasure. McGuinness then stated that for now, he wants to demonstrate visually what he means be decapitate. McGuinness proceeded to launch his sparring partner in to the ropes, before unleashing a hellacious lariat, causing him to complete a full back flip and land face first. Nigel grabbed the motionless man, sat him on the top rope, before pulling his head forward and dropping him in a “Diamond Cutter”-like manoeuvre. Nigel with his point already made, did not stop there, locking him in a seated wristlock with a leg grapevine, causing trainers to leap in the ring and pull Nigel off the “decapitated” sparring partner. McGuinness closed the segment by turning to face the camera as trainers and medics attended the individual, saying “and if and of you wankers don’t think I’m capable of doing this to anyone in the TNA roster, you can all piss off!”

This week’s edition of iMPACT! also marked the return of Mick Foley to the ring – in a non-wrestling capacity. The Hardcore Legend debuted his brand new talk show, dubbed “Barbed Wire and Thumbtacks: The Mick Foley Show”. Foley’s first guests were anything but blood, sweat and tears, as Angelina Love and Velvet Sky of the Beautiful People made their way on to the set, filled with garbage bins, baseball bats, and as expected, plenty of barbed wire. The Beautiful People spent the whole time criticising the talk show and its host, calling them ugly, disgusting and repulsive, with Love questioning whether Foley would look any better had his ear not been blown off by explosives. The Beautiful People’s fashion tops were cut short, however, as former TNA Knockouts Champion ODB hit the ring with a piece of barbed wire, forcing the Beautiful People to head for the hills. The crowd roared as ODB and Mick Foley shared shots from ODB’s hipflask, the Beautiful People holding their noses as they hightailed it up the ramp way.

The main event of the evening saw TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles take on the man who Samoa Joe beat to become his number one contender, “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan. The match itself was a great encounter as opposing the opposing styles of the two athletes collided, Styles utilising his speed to evade The Blueprint’s power strikes, nailing Morgan with a variety of springboard manoeuvres, including a dropkick and DDT. Morgan was able to hold his own with the champ, using his size to outmuscle AJ, reversing a springboard hurricaranna attempt into a huge double powerbomb, and pummelling Styles into the mat with a massive tilt awhirl sideslam. Styles fought back, however, hitting the Pele, which sent Morgan into the referee, knocking him down. AJ then nailed the Styles Clash, however was unable to make the cover as the referee was out cold. At this moment, Samoa Joe sprinted down to ringside, the crowd booing as he stared down the Phenomenal One. However, unexpectedly, Samoa Joe did not attack his Turning Point opponent, instead opting to hit the Muscle Buster on Matt Morgan, before exiting the ring. Styles, with little choice, made the cover as the referee regained consciousness, staring with confusion at Samoa Joe, who mouthed “I told you so AJ, you can’t win without my support”. It appeared Samoa Joe was attempting to play mind games with Styles, and judging by the look on AJ’s face, it was working.

Quick Results:
The Amazing Red (c) w/Don West def. Suicide to retain the TNA World X Division Championship
Daffney drew with Nikki Roxx
Kurt Angle def. Kevin Nash
Eric Young and Homicide def. The Young Gunns
AJ Styles def. Matt Morgan

Confirmed for Turning Point:
TNA World Heavyweight Championship: AJ Styles (c) v Samoa Joe
TNA World Tag Team Championships: The British Invasion (c) v The Motor City Machine Guns

New match signed for Turning Point
Friday 20th November

On an episode of TNA Today, released this morning via TNA Wrestling's website and account on Youtube, it was announced by Jeremy Borash that The Amazing Red will defend his TNA World X Division Championship against Suicide once more after it was ruled his victory on this past week's edition of iMPACT! was not in the spirit of the X Division and has been punished with this match.

"The Spirit of the X Division" term of phrase was famously coined by AJ Styles during the three-way fued between himself, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels heading into their imfamous three way dance at Unbreakable, in 2005.

The match at Turning Point between Red is understood to be a Title vs Mask match, Red's manager Don West commenting on TNA Today that if Red has to defend something, then Suicide should have to, the masked superstar agreeing in an apparent desperate move to get his hands on The Amazing Red.

The TNA Turning Point card heading into next week's edition of TNA iMPACT! currently reads as:

TNA World Heavweight Championship
AJ Styles (c) v Samoa Joe

TNA World Tag Team Championships
The British Invasion (c) v The Motor City Machine Guns

Grudge Match
Kurt Angle v Christopher Daniels

TNA World X Division Championship - Title vs Mask
The Amazing Red (c) w/Don West v Suicide

More matches are expected to be added following Thursday's iMPACT!

TNA iMPACT!
Thursday 26th November

TNA iMPACT! opened up this week with a video package highlighting the major feuds which have be occurring heading in to turning point, focussing specifically on AJ Styles and Samoa Joe; Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels; The World Elite and Hernandez and Beer Money, Inc. and The Amazing Red and the masked wrestlers of the X Division. The voice over states that this Sunday will be the “turning point” for TNA Wrestling. “At Turning Point, things will happen which will change the face of this company forever. At Turning Point, careers will be hotshotted for some, whilst for others they will be crippled. At Turning Point, wrestling evolves. TNA: We Are Wrestling”

Once this video package concluded, we headed to the iMPACT! Zone where Kurt Angle was on his way to the ring, wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Angle took no time to call for a mic, and thanked fans for tuning in to tonight’s broadcast, warning that it maybe the last time you all see “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels on your TV sets again, as tonight he takes him on in a tag team match with a man he respects, AJ Styles. Angle questions whether or not Daniels will even make it to Turning Point, stating that if he gets in the ring with him tonight, he will be the first angel returned to heaven with his ankle in a cast. Angle calls Christopher Daniels a disgrace to TNA Wrestling, however is cut off by the theme music of Samoa Joe, who makes his way to the ring dressed to wrestle, wearing his “Nation of Violence” t-shirt. Joe calls for a mic and begins to run down Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, calling them a disgrace to TNA as they cannot make it on their own, and have always had to have someone by their side to ensure they could make it. Joe once again brings up AJ Styles’ affiliation with Christian, and picks apart Angle’s Alliance as well as the Main Event Mafia in a scathing tirade. “See there’s one thing Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe have in common, and that’s pride. We would never lower ourselves to having to rely on someone else in order to garner success.” This sounds off the music of AJ Styles who makes his way quickly to the ring, also dressed ready to wrestle. Styles cuts straight to the chase, calling Joe a liar and a hypocrite, citing his affiliation with Taz. Joe rebuts by calling Taz a broken down old man who couldn’t hang with Joe if he was in the same condition he was in ECW. Joe calls AJ a Prima Donna, and Barbie dolls like AJ Styles get snapped in half eventually. Styles says Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels are bitter because they have both failed to seize the opportunities they have been given. As a result, the music of “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels hits, and the man himself appears at the ramp way, reluctant to come down ay further. Daniels, dressed not ready to wrestle, says he will show up for the main event, and hopes Angle will have a wheelchair handy, as after the match they’re going to have to wheel him to the ring at Turning Point. This causes Angle to snap and hightail it up the ramp way, chasing Daniels backstage. As a result, AJ is caught off guard and Samoa Joe blindsides him with a vicious right hook, sending him to the outside. Joe grabs Styles and flings him against the guard rail, proceeding to deliver a skull-shattering Ole, Ole kick. Styles, busted open, fights the pain to get to his feet, only for Joe to nail him with a steel chair. Before any more damage can be done, security heads to ringside to prevent Samoa Joe from continuing the assault. Joe, smiling sadistically, mouths to AJ that he’ll see him later on tonight, if he makes it.

When we return to the broadcast after a commercial, the Mike Tenay and Taz question whether or not AJ Styles will be able to compete in tonight’s main event, and whether or not Daniels or Angle will show up at all. They quickly turn their attention to the X Division; the commentators putting over the message announced on TNA Today last Friday that at Turning Point the Amazing Red will be forced to re-defend his TNA World X Division Championship against Suicide, as TNA officials ruled Don West’s interference to be against the spirit of the X Division. They also reveal that at Turning Point there will be an exclusive X Division gauntlet to showcase the athleticism of the wrestlers and the recent expansion which has occurred, as well as putting over the World X Cup which will begin next week on iMPACT! For now though, Mike Tenay draws our attention to the ring, whereby there will be a sneak peak at all three of these monumental events on tonight’s broadcast, as The Amazing Red, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed and Paul London do battle with Suicide, Shark Boy, Dragon Kid and Delirious in eight man tag team action.

The match itself was a high paced affair with all eight showcasing their athletic ability in some form or another. The Amazing Red was reluctant to get in the ring at first, much to his opponents’ and tag teams’ disgust, meaning it was Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed who wrestled the early portions, using an array of double team manoeuvres to dominate near the beginning. Dragon Kid was able to hit a Dragoncarrana to Jay Lethal on the outside, whilst Delirious battled with insanity and was able to evade the quick fire strikes of Consequences Creed. It was Paul London, however, who was able to use his experience in both X-style and tag team wrestling to dictate to direction of the match, hitting a superb missile drop kick on Suicide, followed up by a standing shooting star press and finally a 450 Splash to make the pinfall. The Amazing Red, however, was not going to let London make the fall, pulling the TNA newcomer off of Suicide, which confused London, leading him to shove Red in the chest. As the two faced off, Shark Boy and Dragon Kid re-entered and hit their respective finishers, only to be the victims themselves of double springboard dropkicks from Lethal Consequences. The end of the match came when Suicide, after hitting the Suicide Solution on Jay Lethal, was lowblowed by The Amazing Red, falling victim to an illegal rollup, utilising the ropes. The Amazing Red hightailed it out of the ring, leaving the other seven competitors very angry in the centre of the ring post-match.

As we returned to our broadcast, Jeremy Borash was backstage with Hernandez and Beer Money, Inc.’s James Storm, the two of who were engaged in a bitter war with the World Elite. Borash asked what their thoughts were following the vicious beat down they put on rookie TNA tag team, The Young Gunns. Storm proceeded to call it one of the most cowardly actions he’s seen in his life, following up by saying he and Hernandez are from Texas, and in Texas you man up and fight someone one-on-one. Hernandez called the actions despicable, and though he expected that sort of stuff from a gangbanging thug like Homicide, he thought the likes of Eric Young had a bit more decency, obviously not. As a result, the two challenged the World Elite to a handicap street fight at Turning Point, which if they win, the World Elite is to become no more. Hernandez warned the World Elite, that they have a surprise of their own, and that by the end of tonight’s broadcast, the World Elite will know exactly what that surprise entails.

TNA iMPACT! also featured a video package highlighting the carnage that TNA Knockout Awesome Kong has been causing in recent weeks, showcasing the one-woman wrecking ball she has become, and the assaults she has dealt her unsuspecting victims. As the footage concludes with the words “Who Will Stop Kong”, the voice of TNA Knockouts Champion Tara can be heard saying, “I will”. The video then transitions to a fast paced package highlighting the ability of the champ and her recent feats in TNA Wrestling, with her commenting on the fact that she and Kong have never faced each other one-on-one. The video concludes with Tara ensuring fans that she has what it takes to tame the wild beast Awesome Kong, and will put her title on the line for insurance.

The second match of the evening saw ODB and Sarita team up to take on Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, the Beautiful People. The match saw ODB feed off the crowd, still hot after last week’s episode which saw her and Mick Foley drink from a hipflask after crashing the Beautiful People’s appearance on “Barbed Wire and Thumbtacks”. The former TNA Knockouts Champion dominated the early goings, landing a Lou Thesz Press followed by a flurry of punches and a swig from her flask after the referee pulled her off, much to the crowd’s delight. Sarita, however, was far less successful, falling victim to a number of dirty double team tactics from the Beautiful People, which evened out the affair. The match came to an end when ODB, after delivering the Dirty Dozens, was sprayed with perfume by Velvet Sky, which the referee missed, temporarily blinding her and allowing Angelina Love to hit the Lights Out and pick up the victory.

We once again were subject to a backstage interview, this time Jeremy Borash was with the Motor City Machine Guns, who had just been informed that both they and the British Invasion had been added to the main event this evening, making it an eight man tag team match. The Guns said they were relishing the chance to prove themselves with the likes of Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels, Shelley commenting that much like those two, the Motor City Machine Guns have never been respected by the fans, and by their fellow TNA wrestlers. Sabin reassured the JB that the Guns did not care about any of that, however, and tonight is just another stepping stone on their way to glory at Turning Point.

This week’s edition of TNA iMPACT! was once again interrupted by one of Nigel McGuinness's unscheduled vignettes, this time we found Nigel in his own home, standing in front of a cabinet filled with trophies. Nigel, wearing his now trademark sunglasses, commented on how many accomplishments he had achieved in his athletic career, showing footage of track and field awards, football awards and amateur wrestling awards. There was even a quick glimpse of his ROH World Championship when discussing his feats in professional wrestling. However, Nigel’s bragging came to an abrupt end when he through a chair into the cabinet, removing his sunglasses to scream at the camera that none of these accomplishments mean nothing now that he has signed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. McGuinness finishes by saying that next Thursday on iMPACT! he will indeed make an iMPACT! and there is “nothing the wankers in the locker room, especially those taking part in the World X Cup, can do about it. Now piss off!”

The third match of the evening saw Hernandez and James Storm do battle with Sheik Abdul Bashir and Kiyoshi of the World Elite. The match itself only lasted a minute before all hell broke loose and the rest of the World Elite got involved utilising steel chairs. Eric Young and Homicide then handcuffed Super Mex and Storm to the ring ropes, before administering a hellacious beat down. Young, after grabbing a mic, screamed at his stable’s victims that they indeed accepted the offer for a handicap street fight at Turning Point, following up by saying that nothing, no surprise or big announcement, nothing, will ever end the World Elite’s crusade for justice here in TNA. Homicide, in the meantime, and removed a rusty fork from his boot and was digging it into Hernandez face, busting him right open. As the World Elite stood raising their arms in apparent victory, the lights went out. When they came back on, “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan was standing in the centre of the ring with a sledge hammer and nailed Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir with it, causing Homicide and Eric Young to hightail it out of the ring. Morgan uncuffed the other two, before picking up the mic and yelling “Surprise, Surprise! See you at Turning Point!” The match will indeed be a handicap street fight, but it will be 4 on 3!

Backstage, ahead of their main event match up, the British Invasion were being interviewed by Jeremy Borash, seeking word on their match at Turning Point with the Motor City Machine Guns, as well as their thoughts on what just transpired involving Hernandez, James Storm and Matt Morgan. Before they could get a word in, however, the British Invasion were joined by “Pope” D’Angelo Dinero, who was accompanied by two solidly built, bald headed African American individuals. The British Invasion steered in apprehension at Dinero and his accomplices, splitting the scene when one of the individuals bellowed “What the hell you lookin’ at bwoy!” JB, equally fearful, gave the mic to Dinero, who was dressed in a slick black suit and hat, holding a much more grimacing expression on his face than what we have become accustomed to. His entourage though, were not dressed as impressively, wearing jeans, timberland boots and t-shirts featuring the films Scarface and Menace II Society. Dinero, speaking elegantly noted that ever since he stepped foot in a wrestling ring, people refused to take him seriously. Ever since he came to TNA, people refused to take him seriously. He put Suicide through tables, and his fellow TNA wrestlers would still not respect him as a threat. Dinero commented that he plans to change this, and instead of wanting people’s respect, he is going to snatch their dignity. “I’m turning things around, upside down and dropping them on their heads. I’m turning things backwards. I’m turning things Heltah Skeltah!” The darker entourage member stepped forward and followed up with “If you don’t like it, do something about it!” which was followed by the second entourage member, who simply commented “We dare you!” The segment ended with a stare down of the camera, which was then shoved and stood over by the trio.

The main event of tonight’s iMPACT! garnered a huge reaction from the crowd as TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles teamed with “Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle and the Motor City Machine Guns to take on “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe, “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels and TNA World Tag Team Champions, the British Invasion. Whilst each competitor got ample amount of time in the ring, and neither team was able to command the match up, it was interesting to note that neither of the Motor City Machine Guns seemed overly enthusiastic about entering the ring with Samoa Joe or Christopher Daniels, evading a tag from their partner if it meant wrestling one of them. The Guns worked over the Invasion very well with stereo superkicks and fantastic chain manoeuvres, however when it came to Joe or Daniels, the made no hesitation to tag out. Daniels refused to get into the ring with Angle, tagging out whenever the Olympic Gold Medallist entered the fray, whereas Samoa Joe could not wait to get his hands on a visibly weakened AJ Styles. The match itself featured plenty of high impact wrestling, with Samoa Joe landing a huge release German Suplex on Kurt Angle; the Olympic champion responding with three in a row of his own. AJ and Daniels had a fantastic exchange of strikes and evasions, which AJ eventually capitalised upon, hitting a springboard somersault neck breaker. The match came to a conclusion when Brutus Magnus was forced to tag in Christopher Daniels, as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe had brawled to the back and were escorted out of the building by security and police. Daniels fell victim to an Olympic slam from Angle, however was not pinned as the British Invasion made the save. The Invasion were then superkicked in stereo once gain by the Motor City Machine Guns, Doug Williams falling to the apron outside and being blind tagged by Christopher Daniels almost instantly. Williams was then suplexed into the ring and put into the ankle lock, giving Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and the Motor City Machine Guns the victory. Angle pointed at Daniels as the Fallen Angel backed off up the ramp way, the Guns doing the same to the British Invasion who were scurrying away, albeit drunkenly, behind The Fallen Angel, as the broadcast came to a conclusion.

Dark City Fight Club debut in TNA Wrestling; James Storm to miss Turning Point
Friday 27th November

As seen on last night's edition of TNA iMPACT!, former Ring of Honor tag team, Kory Chavis and Jon Davis, better known as the Dark City Fight Club, made their debut alongside "Pope" D'Angelo Deniro in a backstage vignette.

It appears the team will now be known as Heltah Skeltah, with Deniro, formely known as Elijah Burke in the WWE, acting as their manager.

TNA is seeking to expand its tag team division, and with the division lacking a heel heavyweight team especially as Hulk Hogan joins the company full time next month, Chavis and Davis were given the oppertunity.

You can see some of the Dark City Fight Club's work with Ring of Honor here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKmo8k1kysU

Also, Beer Money, Inc. tag team member Robert Roode will not be featured on this coming Sunday's pay per view event, despite rumours that he will be involved in a run in of some kind to even up the numbers. Roode's knee is still not 100%, though is expected to work the following week's TV tapings.

TNA Turning Point
Sunday 29th November

Pay Per View Pre Show: The Beautiful People v Taylor Wilde & Nikki Roxx

After a one sided battle, thanks to their underhanded tactics and utilisation of perfume being sprayed into their opponents’ eyes, The Beautiful People were able to steal a victory ahead of tonight’s pay per view event after Velvet Sky pinned Taylor Wilde once hitting the Blonde Ambition.

After the match, the Beautiful People reintroduced the live audience to one of their signatures, placing paper bags over the heads of the Nikki Roxx and her tag team partner Taylor Wilde. However, before the Beautiful People could take their fashion judgements any further, Sarita and ODB hit the ring, forcing the blonde bombshells to scurry for cover, the four Knockouts sharing a swig from ODB’s flask as they vowed revenge for the actions of Velvet Sky and Angelina Love.

The FBI Warning is captured across all our television screens as an easy indicator of the forthcoming event and seconds later we zoom right into the opening video and our favorite narrator of narrators begins.

‘Since the beginning of time, one characteristic of the human strata has defined a person’s true worth.’ Shots of the X Division stars from over the years are shown, featuring the daring feats of the likes of AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels and the Motor City Machine Guns. ‘One trait which defines the relationship between mankind.’ Shots of Hernandez, Matt Morgan and Beer Money are shown as they put their bodies through pain and agony in various clips. ‘One facet of civilisation which separates us from the animal’. Shots of hardcore bumps from over the years are shown, particularly focussing on Abyss, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle. ‘Respect’

‘Tonight, respect is rejected’. Shots of the Motor City Machine Guns are shown. “People want to call the Motor City Machine Guns disrespectful? Well Alex Shelley, and Chris Sabin could give a crap about what the fans think.’ The footage shows the Guns taunting their opponents and fans alike. ‘Respect is tested.’ Shots of Samoa Joe are shown. ‘You might have all the boys in the back fooled AJ, but you’ve yet to prove yourself to me.’ Quickly the shots change to those of AJ Styles, wowing fans with his athletic prowess.

‘Respect is granted.’ Shots of Christopher Daniels and Kurt Angle are shown as their feud has heated up these past few weeks on Impact. ‘Kurt, you beat me at Turning Point, maybe then I’ll give you your dues.’ ‘And respect is taken away’. Shots of the World Elite are shown, intertwined with those of Beer Money, Matt Morgan and Hernandez, particularly those of Homicide turning on Hernandez and the subsequent brawling that has occurred since.

‘Tonight, scores are settled.’ We see clips of Awesome Kong demolishing her fellow Knockouts competitors, with Champion Tara declaring, ‘Kong, your streak of violence, it ends this Sunday.’ ‘Questions are answered.’ We get clips of the X Division talent, particularly The Amazing Red and Suicide, with Don West commenting ‘Just what exactly are you hiding from us, Suicide?’ ‘And careers are defined.’ We get a montage of a number of roster members already featured, including Kurt Angle, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe and AJ Styles.

‘Following the greatest announcement in the history of this company…’ Shots are shown of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff announcing their partnership with Dixie Carter, TNA Wrestling and Spike TV. ‘…One thing is certain. This Sunday, as a new era dawns. The nature of respect has come to a “Turning Point”.’

And now, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling presents, TNA Turning Point…

‘On the night where once again, history will be made, TNA Wrestling welcomes you all to yet another pay per view extravaganza’ Mike Tenay welcomes us with his usual excitement, introducing fans to his co-host for the evening, Taz. The former ECW champion also makes his anticipation known, before Tenay takes us to the ring where RnB superstar Ne-Yo was in the centre of the ring, where it was announced that he was sing the United States national anthem ahead of the show and indeed, Thanksgiving.

However, half way through his heart-warming rendition, Ne-Yo was interrupted by the World Elite faction, whereby Homicide, Kyoshi, Sheik Abdul Bashir and Eric Young made their way down to ringside, with Young and Bashir criticising the audacity of the US to have a holiday titled ‘Thanksgiving’ considering how much sorrow they continue to wreak upon the rest of the world followed by Homicide calling Ne-Yo an ‘Uncle Tom.’ However before the stable could go any further, the trio of “Cowboy” James Storm, “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan and Hernandez stormed down the ramp way, giving an early beginning to tonight’s pay per view with the first match.

4 v 3 Handicap Street Fight: The World Elite v “Cowboy” James Storm, “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan and Hernandez

The match was a wild brawl, very much in the vein of those seen in the 1970s and 80s within the Texas and Memphis territories, where the wrestlers slugged it out all over the arena, not caring for anything but to administer violence on their opponents. The World Elite dominated the early portions of the match, using strength in numbers to outnumber their opponents. Young managed to hit a snap vertical suplex onto an upright chair on James Storm, whilst Kyoshi and Bashir worked on Morgan, nailing him with steel chairs and cookie trays at ringside. Homicide and Hernandez brawled through the crowd, the former tag team partners not holding anything back when displaying their lost love for one another. Homicide attempted to throw his opponent over a balcony, however his Irish whip was reversed and Super Mex sent him into a concrete wall, before whipping him down a huge flight of concrete steps.

Meanwhile back in the ring, strength in numbers was starting to wear thin, as Storm had capitalised on some Eric Young showboating, catching him off guard with a chop block, followed by the smashing of a beer bottle over his head. Matt Morgan sent both Sheik Bashir and Kyoshi over the top rope, before launching himself via a plancha, onto his opponents at ringside. The match stepped up a level when Homicide, who had since returned to ringside, pulled out the a pair of handcuffs and managed to cuff a newly-laid out James Storm to the bottom ring rope whilst standing at ringside, enabling him to dig his “ghetto fork” utensil into the skull of Storm without any repercussions.

The crazy antics eventually came to a close however, when Homicide, still beating on a helpless James Storm, set up the steel stairs next to Storm, and Eric Young attempted to launch himself, with a chair strapped to his chest, at Cowboy, only to receive a desperate boot from Storm, which surely must have cracked Young’s sternum. This was followed up by Hernandez, who caught Homicide napping standing on the top rope, hitting a border toss to the centre of the ring. Eric Young attempted to launch himself at Hernandez over the top rope however was caught by Super Mex and snapped with a seated powerbomb.

Hernandez and Matt Morgan then made short work of Kiyoshi, hitting him with a huge double chokeslam through a table previously set up by Eric Young. The crowd then roared as James Storm’s Beer Money tag team partner, Robert Roode, leaped a barricade holding a pair of bolt cutters, freeing Cowboy from the handcuffs. The two then slid into the ring and nailed Eric Young with Drinking While Investing for the victory to open up Turning Point.

Winners: “Cowboy” James Storm, “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan and Hernandez

After the victors celebrated to much fanfare, Homicide slid into the ring and his World Elite leader, Eric Young began berating him, asking him why he didn’t save him from the pinfall. Homicide rebutted by telling Young that it was he who was pinned and therefore lost the match. This caused Young to shove Homicide, only for the Puerto Rican to level his former with a huge right hand, knocking him out cold, much to the delight of the TNA faithful. A small “Homicide” chant began, as Mike Tenay and Taz directed our attention to a short video highlighting the history of TNA’s X Division. Shortly afterwards, Tenay announced that it was time for the X Division Gauntlet.

10 Man X Division Gauntlet

“Oooooh yeaaaah!”

The catchphrase so well delivered by “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal hits the PA system, indicating that he is indeed the first participant in the gauntlet match. Tenay and Taz point out that once the second participant has made his way to the ring, the two will do battle until a fall occurs, in which case the next participant will enter the ring. There is no time limit.

“Oh shell yeah!”

His opponent will be, the colourful character known as Shark Boy.

Participants 1 & 2: “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal and Shark Boy

The two engage in a short but colourful series of encounters, highlighted by Lethal’s uncanny ability to evade Shark Boy’s comedic attempts of Irish whips and power moves associated with one Stone Cold Steve Austin. The first fall came when Lethal managed to reverse a Chummer into the Lethal Combination and eliminate the man from the Deep Blue Sea, in less than three minutes. In no time at all, a mystic type theme song hits the airwaves, and to much surprise, the third participant in the X Division Gauntlet is none other than Lucha Libre legend, Mistico!

Elimination 1: Shark Boy; Participant 3: Mistico

Mistico enters the ring and the crowd automatically get behind the legendary figure, filling the ring with blue and silver streamers. After the referee takes a second to clear the ring, the two athletes exchange a series of lightning quick manoeuvres, reversals and counter-reversals. Though Lethal looked every bit impressive as his opponent, it was the masked superstar from south of the border who managed to pick up the fall, hitting a single arm DDT from the top rope as Lethal was going for the Elbow Drop, transitioning into a Fujiwara Armbar, forcing Black Machismo to tap out almost instantly. A huge “TNA” chant sprung up, which was quickly drowned out by the familiar theme song of Jay Lethal’s tag team partner, Consequences Creed.

Elimination 2: Jay Lethal; Participant 4: Consequences Creed

Creed took no time in going after the masked superstar, managing to nail Mistico with a series of high angled leg lariats and drop kicks, impressing those at ringside immediately. However, Creed’s momentum quickly came to a holt, as whilst attempting the splits during the Montifisto, Creed was caught with a stiff kick to the chin by Mistico, quickly followed up by a springboard moonsault, to become Mistico’s second eliminated participant of the match up. As the “Mistico” chants began, an Oriental style theme song hit the airwaves, and Dragon Kid made his way to the ring, the fans adorning him with similar treatment as they showed Mistico, filling the ring with green streamers.

Elimination 3: Consequences Creed; Participant 5: Dragon Kid

The crowd erupted as Dragon Kid managed to reverse a head scissors take down attempt from Mistico, rolling out of it and hitting a stunningly succinct Shining Wizard. The two battled for close to five minutes in what was, pardon the pun, total non-stop action, before Dragon Kid managed to hit Mistico with a Dragoncarrana and pick up what was indeed an upset elimination in the X Division gauntlet. The fans, left somewhat bewildered by Dragon Kid’s feat, were quickly redirected to the ramp way, as the sixth entrant, lucha star, Rey Bucanero, made his way down to ringside, seeking to make short work of the underdog.

Elimination 4: Mistico; Participant 6: Rey Bucanero

The two exchanged a series of high impact manoeuvres, with Bucanero hitting a very impressive wheelbarrow driver, only for Dragon Kid to kick out of a pinfall attempt. Dragon Kid retaliated with a tilt awhirl head scissors armbar, only for the referee to break the hold after Bucanero was able to reach the ropes. The battle between the to came to a close, however, as Rey Bucanero was able to hit a corkscrew senton from the top rope and eliminate the Japanese star. Bucanero was not left wondering who his opponent would be, however, as his CMLL tag team partner Ultimo Guerrero sprinted toward the ring to join the fray.

Elimination 5: Dragon Kid; Participant 7: Ultimo Guerrero

The two lucha stars showcased their extraordinary chemistry with one another, wowing the fans with their amazing ability to counter each other’s manoeuvres and offence. It was Rey Bucanero who was able to showcase his ability more so, and he managed to pin his partner with the very same high impact aerial attack he used against Dragon Kid, nailing a corkscrew senton to pick up his second elimination of the bout. As Mike Tenay explained that both Guerrero and Bucanero would feature in TNA’s World X Cup, beginning this coming week on iMPACT!, as well as Mistico, the lights in the iMPACT! Zone went out, and the crowd exploded when a familiar catchphrase hit the speakers, showcasing the first major acquisition in what has become a new era in TNA’s rollercoaster history…

“One of a kind!”

The iMPACT! Zone went absolutely crazy as former WWE Champion, and ECW icon Rob Van Dam made his way down the aisle as the eighth participant in the X Division gauntlet.

Elimination 6: Ultimo Guerrero; Participant 8: Rob Van Dam

Rob Van Dam quickly showed his trademark evasiveness and unique arsenal of high impact moves and martial arts strikes, nailing Bucanero with a trademark monkey flip, followed up by the Rolling Thunder. The crowd went absolutely ballistic as Van Dam showcased his “RVD” taunt, following it up with a canvas shattering Five Star Frog Splash to pick up the fall and announce his arrival in TNA Wrestling with a bang. Van Dam’s celebrations were short lived however, as the unorthodox, somewhat manic masked superstar known as Delirious made his way down to the ring as the second to last entrant in the X Division gauntlet match up.

Elimination 7: Rey Bucanero; Participant 9: Delirious

Van Dam found it difficult to ground Delirious initially, the deranged athlete not conforming to the traditions of pro wresting, instead opting to flail around the ring, evading Van Dam’s kicks almost unconsciously. The crowd seemed shocked that RVD could not manage to get on top of his opponent, Delirious hitting Shadows Over Hell, however instead of making the cover, opted to instead grab a chair from ringside. Delirious’ intentions were short lived however, as Van Dam was able to duck a swing of the chair and nail a brutal Van Daminator, much to the delight of the crowd, and pick up the pinfall. As the “Whole F’n Show” chants began, Rob Van Dam was joined in the ring by a familiar face, as former WWE Tag Team and Cruiserweight Champion Paul London made his way down the aisle as the tenth participant.

Elimination 8: Delirious; Participant 10: Paul London

The two former WWE talents seemed to have very little ring rust, their chemistry showing almost immediately. Shunning any hint of a previous “style” they may have worked, both London and Van Dam appeared to adapt very well to the fast paced style expected by TNA fans, especially that showcased by the X Division. Though they battled for close to eight minutes, hitting an array of offence and counter offence, including a stunning leg sweep DDT-standing shooting star press combination from London, it was RVD who managed to pick up the fall, hitting the Five Star Frog Splash after reversing a superplex attempt into a top rope front vertical suplex. The crowd erupted as Rob Van Dam was announced the victor, celebrating his debut with a victory in a match which Mike Tenay described as leaving him breathless.

Winner: Rob Van Dam

After a highlights package, Mike Tenay sent us backstage where “JB” Jeremy Borash was standing by with TNA Knockouts Champion, Tara. In a short interview segment, Tara announced that she was indeed ready for her showdown with the monstrous Awesome Kong, ending the segment with “The bigger they are, the harder they fall”.

TNA Knockouts Championship: Tara © v Awesome Kong

We head back to ringside, as the number one contender for the upcoming Knockouts title match, Awesome Kong, was making her way to the ring, holding an expression on her face which signified she was ready for business. In no time at all, Kong was joined by her opponent for the evening, the TNA Knockouts Champion, Tara. As the two circled each other in the ring, Tara seemed shaken by the size difference between herself and her opponent, and the “Kong’s gonna kill you” chants from fans at ringside did not seem to help things.

The match itself was your classic underdog versus monster affair, with Tara spending much of the match trying to evade the strength and size difference by hitting counter manoeuvres and attempts to ground her much larger opponent. Foot strikes to Kong’s head in the corner garnered a huge reaction from the crowd, however they seemed to have little effect as the Awesome one showed her innate ability to absorb pain, tossing the smaller Champion away like a sack of potatoes. Kong dominated the middle portions of the match, nailing a huge vertical suplex, followed up by a back senton splash, only for Tara to get her foot on the bottom rope.

After another series of near falls in which Tara’s fighting spirit was really put to the test, the Champ appeared to have recovered, nailing Kong with an amazing super kick from nowhere. However, her comeback attempt was short lived, as just when Tara began to garner some momentum, Kong was able to reverse an elevated fireman’s carry into a huge German suplex which seemed to snap Tara in half, Kong making the cover and the fans chanting “Holy sh*t!” in the process, as a new champ was crowned.

Winner and NEW TNA Knockouts Champion: Awesome Kong

Awesome Kong, however, did not let up, scooping Tara up and hitting her with a back breaking Awesome Bomb, the crowd booing as Kong stood above her mangled opponent. EMTS flooded to ringside, as Kong licked her chops, staring down the camera and giving a sick smirk of enjoyment.

Cutting away from ringside, we head to footage earlier of the Motor City Machine Guns arriving to the iMPACT! Zone, refusing to give “JB” Jeremy Borash any form of interview whatsoever, with Alex Shelley cockily brushing him off with “Sorry, the champs don’t do unscheduled interviews”. We then head to a short video package of the recent events surrounding World X Division Champion The Amazing Red his agent, Don West and the de-masking attempts made on his Turning Point opponent, Suicide. Back at ringside, the challenger makes his way to the ring, and once again Don West and Taz advise fans to strap themselves in as there is more X Division action on the way.

TNA World X Division Championship – Title v Mask: The Amazing Red © w/Don West v Suicide

Following Suicide's, and indeed The Amazing Red’s entrance to the ring, cockily strutting with Don West hovering close in tail, the match for the World X Division Championship got underway as one man was seeking to build his identity with a championship reign; the other seeking to destroy that of his opponent by revealing his true identity. The match got off to a hiss and a roar as both competitors exchanged quick paced manoeuvres, neither gaining an early advantage. Don West sarcastically attempted to garner crowd support, chanting “he’s amazing” on his own, with the fans at ringside booing him in response.

Suicide took control midway through the match, countering an Irish whip into a springboard back elbow, followed up with a drop kick to a partially seated Red. The Amazing Red was able to recover, however, thanks in part from Don West’s niggling of both Suicide and the referee, ensuring that neither had full concentration on the task at hand. The champion also made several attempts throughout the match up to damask Suicide prematurely, all of which came to no avail.

After a series of high risk manoeuvres from both competitors, including a somersault powerbomb from the apron to the floor from Suicide on Amazing Red, and a springboard head scissor takedown from the guardrail from Red on Suicide, it was the champion who was able to pick up the victory, after Don West was able to distract the referee, giving the Amazing Red enough time to pick up the TNA World X Division title belt and clock the challenger across the cranium, rendering him momentarily unconscious. As a result, the Amazing Red was able to hit the Red Alert and steal the win, retaining his title whilst at the same time ensuring Suicide had to damask.

Winner and STILL TNA World X Division Champion: The Amazing Red

However, before Don West or Red could have the satisfaction, Suicide nailed West with a huge running knee to the face, following up with the Dead on Arrival on the champion. Much to the angst of the fans, however, the referee ensured that Suicide adhered to the stipulations of the match, reinforcing that Suicide must remove his mask. The crowd fell deafly silent, as the man of mystery removed, revealing his true identity…Frankie Kazarian! Kazarian tossed the mask to the floor before exiting the ring, the crowd chanting “Thank you Kaz” as he hung his head in shame and headed backstage, clearly disillusion by what had happened.

We then headed backstage to where “JB” Jeremy Borash was standing by with “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, who cockily predicted a victory in his match up with Kurt Angle, scheduled for later tonight. Daniels proclaimed himself to be “Mr. TNA” (a moniker he held previously) and what better way to prove himself to be “Mr. TNA” than to defeat an Olympic gold medallist on pay per view. Daniels concluded the segment by stating that respect is not earned by parading your accomplishments in front of others, it is earned by putting it all on the line in the ring. Tonight, Daniels proclaimed that Angle will respect his ability, but there is no chance in hell that he will respect Angle’s.

Following the interview we head to a short video package highlighting Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff’s partnership with TNA, culminating with Hogan’s words at a press conference: “Whatcha gonna do TNA maniacs? Whatcha gonna do, when Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan run wild on you!” The package then rolled over into another one, recapping the rise of the Motor City Machine Guns, who in light of the recent media spotlight on TNA Wrestling as of late, have turned their back on the fans whilst achieving the moderate success of becoming World Tag Team Championship number one contenders. The video concludes by saying that neither the Guns or the British Invasion are overly popular with the fans, but desperation, will and desire are the three ingredients that command respect, as the two teams do battle for the most coveted prize in all of tag team wrestling.

We then head to ringside to where the Motor City Machine Guns are making their entrance to the ring, cockily strutting down the aisle, refusing to shake fans’ hands whilst smirking at both fans and the commentary team of Tenay and Taz, Sabin calling Taz “broken down” in the process.

TNA World Tag Team Championships: The British Invasion w/Rob Terry v The Motor City Machine Guns.

After the formalities, the match got underway and it was the Guns who gained the upper hand early on, utilising their significant speed advantage and experience as a tag team to double team their opponents. Plenty of tags and quick fire tandem offence meant that Brutus Magnus spent much of the early goings on face down on the mat, much to the disgust of his British Invasion stalemates.

Doug Williams managed to gain some leverage back, stopping Sabin in his tracks with a thunderous lariat, following up with a low angled drop kick to Shelley’s knees and one to his face for his troubles. Williams and Magnus then utilised their superior strength, hitting a double snap suplex on Sabin, followed with a double flapjack on Shelley, sending the dark-haired Machine Gun member cranium first into his tag teams crotch. The crowd got behind the British Invasion, particularly Williams, who managed to hit repeat belly-to-belly suplexes on Shelley, only for Sabin to make the save at the last microsecond.

After some more back and forth offence from the two, including stereo super kicks from the Motor City Machine Guns, as well as double drop kicks to the British Invasion’s bodyguard Rob Terry from the top rope to ringside, and the British Invasion nailing their big boot-to-German Suplex combination, it was the Motor City Machine Guns who managed to pick up the win, hitting the ASCS Rush on Doug Williams, followed up by their Made In Detroit combination manoeuvre on Brutus Magnus to pick up their first TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Winners and NEW TNA World Tag Team Champions: The Motor City Machine Guns

Whilst the Machine Guns celebrate after a highlights package, we once again headed backstage, where images of TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles warming up for his upcoming title defence against “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe in his locker room are shown, garnering a considerable reaction from those fans at ringside. We then head to “JB” Jeremy Borash, who is standing by with “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle. Angle told JB that tonight is not his night, tonight is not Christopher Daniels’ night, tonight is TNA’s night. A turning point for this company’s future, and indeed the future of this entire industry. Kurt stared into the camera, reiterating what he had been saying for the past couple of weeks about respect, and tonight, he throws caution into the wind. “Daniels, after I strap your Achilles in the ankle lock, and the whole world watches you pass out in pain, you will have no choice but to respect me. Oh it’s real. ITS DAMN REAL!”.

Following Kurt Angle’s interview, we are presented with a highlight package highlighting Kurt Angle’s achievements and feats in his TNA career, spanning from the brilliant series of matches with Samoa Joe, to his showdown with Sting at Bound For Glory 2007, to his run with the Main Event Mafia. We then get a recap of the recent events surrounding his rivalry with Christopher Daniels, culminating with images of Christopher Daniels hightailing it at the conclusion of Thursday night’s iMPACT! We then headed to ringside where “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels was making his way to the ring, wearing his trademark black robe, only this time it read “Mr. TNA” on the back, as opposed to “Fallen Angel”. Daniels’ entrance was followed by that of “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle, who entered the iMPACT! Zone to a chorus of cheers and “Angle” chants.

“The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels v “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle

Both men circled one another as the crowd and commentary team could hardly contain their excitement, Tenay questioning whether we will see a clinic or a bloodbath as both men attempt to beat respect into the other. It was Kurt Angle who garnered the upper hand early on, delighting fans by delivering a series of head butts to Daniels whilst grounding the former X Division star through a series of clinical transitions. Huge “This is wrestling” chants erupt as Angle and Daniels jostle for position displaying fantastic chain wrestling and ability to counter one another.

Angle’s attempts to ground Daniels could only contain him for so long, as “Mr TNA” was able to regain his footing and deliver a series of dropkicks and innovative manoeuvres, swaying the momentum his way. The crowd roared as Daniels nailed Angle with a huge hurricane DDT, after it seemed as if Angle was able to reverse an Irish Whip attempt into the tilt awhirl. The crowd booed, however, as Daniels went to work on Angle’s neck, locking him in the Cattle Mutilation, much to the internet wrestling fan base’s delight.

Angle was able to break the hold by getting his feet to the ropes, however “The Fallen Angel” went right back to work, dropping two elbows on the back, only to lose control of the match after Kurt reversed a superplex attempt into a front falling suplex from the top rope. The crowd cheered as Kurt hit a 450 splash, only to get the two count. Angle then upped the anti, working over Daniels’ leg, whilst at the same time incorporating mixed martial arts’ style takedowns and ground and pound, only for the referee to break the two, due to Angle’s use of illegal strikes.

Daniels went to hit a crossbody from the ropes, only for Kurt to catch him in midair, swing him around and nail him with a German suplex. Kurt then rose to his feet and hit another German, not releasing his lock on Daniels, enabling him to hit a third. Angle managed to nail Christopher Daniels with five German suplexes, much to the delight of the crowd, only for Daniels to kick out at the last second. Angle went to hit another, only for Daniels to nail him with the Last Rites, followed by a springboard split legged moonsault, himself only garnering the two count.

Turning his attention back to Kurt’s neck, Daniels locked in a move not to dissimilar to The Rings of Saturn, cranking Angle’s to the point where Mike Tenay noted “The human neck just isn’t meant to be bent in that direction”, before Daniels followed up with an elbow to the back of it. Kurt appeared motionless in the ring, however as Daniels played to the crowd and called for the BME, it was made apparent that “The Olympic Gold Medallist” was simply playing possum, and he leapt up, hitting Daniels with a release German suplex from the top rope, which he rolled into the ankle lock.

The crowd chanted “Tap!”, however Daniels was able to reach the ropes, forcing the referee to break the hold. Angle, visibly frustrated began stomping away at “The Fallen Angel’s” ankle, as well as slamming it against the mat, and wrenching it between the turnbuckle and his own foot. Daniels, using what seemed to be his last ounce of energy, managed to sweep Angle off his feet and lock in a cross face, before transitioning it into another Cattle Mutilation submission hold. The crowd chanted “Please Don’t Tap” as Angle looked down and out.

However, at the last second, Angle was able to somehow roll out of it, ducking a Daniels’ clothesline in doing so, and hitting a thunderous Angle Slam. With both men down, the referee began to count, and by the eight count, both had somehow managed to regain their platform. Daniels sprinted at Angle, hitting him with an elbow to the head, forcing him into the corner. “The Fallen Angel” began striking Angle with a series of elbows to the head, busting him open, only for Kurt to force him back with a series of short range head butts, busting him open in the process as well. Both men, bloodied and batted, began swinging wild fists, before Daniels appeared to he the match won with his patented Angel’s Wings locked and ready to go. Angle had other plans however, and was able to duck under Daniels’ legs, applying the ankle lock with the grapevine in the process, forcing Daniels to submit, “The Olympic Gold Medallist” picking up the victory in what was a war of attrition.

Winner: “The Olympic Gold Medallist” Kurt Angle

After the match, the crowd raised to their feet as they chanted “Match of the Year”, applauding both men’s efforts. The referee raised Angle’s hand in victory, however his opponent had other ideas. Thinking this was far from over, Christopher Daniels had rolled to ringside and picked up a chair, before sliding back into the six sides. Without any knowledge of what was going to happen, Kurt Angle was levelled from a blind chair shot at the hands of Christopher Daniels, beating him senseless as he lay motionless and bloodied on the mat. Daniels’ picked Angle’s limp body p, placed his neck between the chair’s fold, and delivered a sickening cutter, seemingly snapping Angle’s neck in the process. The crowd fell deadly silent as EMTs flooded to ringside and Daniels headed to the back, smiling sadistically as he clutched the steel chair, covered in Angle’s blood.

As the EMTs worked on Angle’s lifeless body, we cut to a video package promoting the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match, between the defending champion AJ Styles, and the challenger, Samoa Joe. The package highlights their historic rivalry, stemming back over five years. Images of AJ and Joe’s X Division battles, their respective World Title reigns, and of course the recent events on iMPACT! which resulted in AJ getting beaten down this past week are shown before we head backstage, where once more “JB” Jeremy Borash is preparing to do an interview, this time with Samoa Joe, who tonight is aiming to capture his second TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Joe cut to the chase and said that as a new era dawns, things do inevitably change. However, at the same time, some things stay the same, one of which being that AJ cannot beat Joe by himself. After all’s said and done, all the blood has been spilled and all of the bones have been broken, we will have a new World Heavyweight Champion, his name will be, Samoa Joe. “You’re in my nation of violence, AJ. And as far as I’m concerned, you’re more than welcome to stay”. Joe then tells JB he’ll see him for the formalities and heads up the tunnel as his music can be heard booming throughout the arena.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship: “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles © v “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe entered the iMPACT! Zone first to a chorus of boos, wearing length MMA-style shorts, and ankle strapping as opposed to his traditional black boots. Joe looked all business tonight, though still had that cocky smirk we’ve come to associate with the Samoan Submission Machine in recent weeks. Joe’s entrance was followed up by that of the TNA Heavyweight Champion of the World, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Styles entered the iMPACT! Zone to a flurry of fanfare, streamers filling the ring as the fans applauded the man who truly is their champion. Neither men took their eyes off one another, and after Jeremy Borash handled the introductions, this contest was ready to begin.

Joe and Styles kicked things off with a series of striking exchanges, AJ launching a number of elbow shots to Joe’s head, to which Joe followed up with several stiff chops to AJ’s chest, along with a couple of hard martial arts kicks to the gut. It was AJ who gained the early upper hand, however, using his agility to evade a Samoa Joe STO, reversing it into a Sean Waltman-like face buster, following it up with a springboard Asai moonsault, to get an early one-count.

The crowd were incredibly hyped, early “lets go Joe/lets go AJ” battles began, as Joe looked to get himself back into the match, nailing a Samoan drop, before kicking AJ in the back and hitting a running knee drop to a dazed AJ. Instead of going for the cover, however, Samoa Joe chopped his opponent into the corner, before attempting a facewash, a move that was avoided at the last second when AJ rolled underneath the bottom rope. Joe, noticing what was happening, opted instead to launch himself through the middle ropes, nailing the champion with a suicide dive much to the delight of the crowd.

Joe followed up by chopping AJ on the outside, and delivering a northern lights suplex on the outside, causing Styles to clutch at his spine. Sensing weakness, Joe began to work over the back/lower neck region, delivering another running knee, this time as AJ lay face down on the concrete. The fans began chanting “Ole Ole”, and Joe, not wanting to disappoint, set a chair up in the corner, seating Styles down and ran in to follow up with what he did this past week on iMPACT! However, Styles was able to avoid the manoeuvre, leaping up onto the chair and over a running Joe, following up with a Pele kick from nowhere as the confused Joe turned unsuspectingly, sending Joe to the chair. “The Phenomenal One” followed up with a running drop kick, sending Joe over the chair and indeed guardrail. Styles, never one to miss an opportunity leaped on to the chair and hit a flying elbow over the guardrail just as Joe regained his footing.

The two brawled in the crowd for a bit, the referee seemingly waving the usual 10-count rule for this bout. Joe hit Styles with a lariat and both men tumbled back over the rail, Joe scooping the champ up and Irish whipping him into the stairs. The crowd booed as Samoa Joe seated AJ on the steps and delivered an Ole kick, AJ’s cranium smashing into the ring pole, which it was resting against. Joe smirked as Styles lay unconscious, rolling the champ into the ring, only to garner a two count, AJ kicking out at the last second.

With the upper hand firmly in his favour, Joe continued working over Styles’ back and neck, stretching him in a gruelling STF, only for the champ to reach the ropes forcing the referee to break the hold. Samoa Joe, thinking he had AJ where he has him, picked the champ up and looked to hit the Muscle Buster, only for AJ to slip behind Joe. “The Samoan Submission Machine” then in turn ran at the champ, only for AJ to duck under Joe and hit him with a massively elevated dropkick as Joe returned off the ropes. Styles, still shaken, began to feel revived, following up with a cartwheel shooting star press, to garner the two count.

AJ looked to continue with his momentum, scooping Samoa Joe up and hitting the 300-pound Samoan bruiser with a huge body slam, before heading to the top rope. AJ, still shaken however, took his time to climb the turnbuckle, meaning Samoa Joe could get to his feet and deliver a kick to AJ’s skull, leaping up the turnbuckle in doing so. Samoa Joe then looked to capitalise as AJ hung in a reverse tree of woe, scooping him up and delivering a swinging powerbomb into the corner, leaving the crowd in shock as the champ looked to have been broken in half.

The Samoan Submission Machine looked to have the match sealed, as he locked in the Coquina Clutch, only for Styles to roll out of the submission hold at the last second, delivering a drop kick to Samoa Joe’s head in the process. AJ then mustered up all the energy he had, delivering a running cutter to a seated Samoa Joe, before following up with a stiff kick to his face, laying him out on the mat. The Phenomenal One once again headed to the top rope, delivering a move we have not seen for some time, the Spiral Tap. The crowd, already chanting “This is Awesome” morphed their words into a “TNA” chant, as AJ only managed to get a two count. Both men, appearing down out, struggled to get to their feet, and once they were so, AJ attempted to hit a running hurricaranna, only for Samoa Joe to reverse it into a powerbomb, garnering a two count, and transitioning the manoeuvre into an elevated Boston crab.

The crowd, chanting “Please don’t tap” was enough to get the champ over the line, as he managed to grab the ropes forcing the referee to once again break the hold. Joe, clearly frustrated that he was once again unable to force his opponent to quit, headed to ringside, picking up a steel chair, deciding that underhanded tactics were necessary to be crowned victor. However, the referee grabbed the chair from Joe’s grasp and the two fought over it, before AJ hit Joe with a flying elbow, knocking the referee down in the process. Styles then followed up with the Styles Clash, only the referee could not make the count as he was out cold. Styles then made an attempt to revive the official, succeeding but only for Joe to nail him with a vicious chair shot from behind, much to the disgust of the crowd.

Samoa Joe then picked AJ up and delivered a thunderous Muscle Buster, covering him in the process.

1…2….

Kick out! Somehow, the Phenomenal One was able to defy all odds and muster up enough energy, enough strength for one last pinfall evasion. Joe, in complete disarray, once again went for the chair, only for the referee to pull it from his hands and throw it to ringside, the crowed roaring in approval. Joe, arguing with the referee, turned unsuspectingly into a huge Pele kick, sending him into the corner. AJ, sensing victory, approached the Samoan Submission Machine, picking him up and delivering a thunderous superplex from the top turnbuckle. Styles then went for the pinfall, however after hooking the leg, Samoa Joe somehow managed the recover an ounce of energy, locking in the Coquina Clutch, as the crowd screamed for AJ not to quit.

What the hell? AJ Styles had won! Styles had won! Styles had rolled out of the Coquina Clutch, similar to Bret Hart’s rolling out the Million Dollar Dream at Survivor Series 1996, escaping from the match by the skin of his teeth and reclaiming the TNA Heavyweight Championship of the World! The crowd roared in approval as Styles’ hand was lifted in victory, Samoa Joe couldn’t believe what had just taken place! AJ had escaped the inescapable rear naked choke and retained his world title, defeating the one man he had never defeated before, Samoa Joe! Joe kicked the barricade in disgust as he headed up the ramp way pointing at Styles and screaming that this was far from over! As AJ Styles’ hand was raised in victory, streamers filled the ring once more, and the commentators gushed over how the TNA champ truly was phenomenal. After a brief highlights package images of Styles celebrating in the centre of the ring were the final ones we saw as TNA’s Turning Point came to a dramatic and sensational conclusion.
