In no particular order:
1 Parra stopped playing to win and looked to defend their lead.
2. Ryles try was doubtful.
3. 2nd try - Burt missing a tackle on a player who was not moving and had his back turned! For once in your career use your shoulder! Speaking of careers, yours is hopefully over at the end of this year. thanks for the service but a couple of years too long.
4. Keating not passing it when 12-0 up and have a 4 man overlap. How is he in 1st grade? No vision, passes to ground, no spark. Would not play 1st grade at any other club.
5. OUr interchange. What is going on with it? We have Poore, Shackleton and Allgood all interchanging as front rowers but we keep that useless gimp Lasalo out there all day???
6. Replacing Hindy. WTF. If you are trying to defend your lead keep your best defensive player out there! Hardly rocket science.
7. Not their fault but backrowers playing centre? Horo looks lost, but he does try hard.
8. Burt at 5/8. What a dumb play taht was. Put him on the wing, put Morgan in teh centres for Horo and either give Morts a shot or move reni to 5/8.

Two points:

1. Hindy missed 6 tackles.

2. If we move Burt to the wing we need somebody else in the spine (or whatever else you prefer to call it) that can kick. One kicker (Hayne) isn't enough.

Use of the interchange is awful. I'm all for giving Kearney a fair chance. But his use of the bench doesn't make sense. We keep losing games in the last minute and players' freshness is a part of that.

While I do agree with some points, imagine my surprise...everyone is to blame but the player who bombed two tries and then couldn't fall on a chargedown...

Hindy also made about a thousand tackles and did alot of clean up work...

Gotta agree regarded Keating, FMD the guy just continues to take the wrong option most of the time. Is it just me or i thought Lasalo didn't go that bad last night????

Without Hayne, the Eels would not have had to worry about golden point result...
He is the fans singlet..."You are always on his back"
The Club should LET HIM GO and free up Salary Cap...Be interesting to see the whinging then...
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.
He one of top three players to have represented the Eels in the past 30 years.....Right up there in the class of Sterling, Kenny, Ella, Grothe...A FREAK...yet he is the source of so much 'hate' by Eels fans.
Can't work it out!!!!

Agree!!!!!!!! Our inept play, lack of organisation and dumb mistakes are one thing but the one thing the coach can control through the game is the bench. It is laughable really.

Lasalo has been going good all year.

Don't listen to all the Lasalo knockers.

Simple, he's a dumb player. He as all the talent in the world, he could be the best player going around but he constantly takes poor options and looks like he's somewhere outside of the game that's happening around him. He's not even top 3 in the current side based on performances...he's a freak for sure, but he will never be a top echelon player if he can't learn to play footy with his brain

I wonder what sort of Salary Cap it would cost to put together a squad like this from the players still left in the finals race ---- ????
Wade McKinnon, Ashley Graham, Jamie Lyon, Willie Tonga, David Williams, James Maloney, Chris Sandow, Todd Lowrie, Feliti Mateo, Tony Williams, Joe Gaulavo, Ryan Hinchcliffe, Jeromy Latimore...

I don't agree with your summation (Surprise surprise!!!)...
He is not dumb...He is too smart for the rest of the plodders in the team
BUT Bazal, stick with your views which you are very much entitled too. Just because my views differ doesn't mean you are wrong...nor does it mean I am wrong..

Regardless of the players around him (and there are some very average ones for sure), it's pretty hard to disagree that he does some very dumb things though, pete. As I mentioned elsewhere, the toe through and the no look passes with a try begging were dumb play in anyones book. If he only thinks about what he's doing more often, he'll be the best player in the world.

I agree Hayne is lacking in the mental side of the game, but physically and technically he is up there with any of them.

That said, I don't think he should be blamed for being a dumb player - that's just who he is.
His instinct is to go for the big play which is a big part of what makes him great. That's why he kicked that loose ball last night.

He should never have had to be the team's primary playmaker in the first place. Next year he'll be able to play his natural game like all the other NRL fullbacks who aren't as good as him - Slater, Stewart, Dugan and the rest.

I agree he shouldn't be the primary playmaker, and I have said all along he isn't a five eighths arsehole...but for me, if he wants to be allowed to inject himself in a ball playing capacity even from the back, he has to start taking the right options. The evolution of Hayne over the next year or two might well prove a measure of Kearney's success as a coach...if he can simply get his head in the game then along with Sandow and Tonga coming we have what it takes to win a premiership. If he can't, then both Hayne and Kearney could end up as cases of what might have been
