While never reaching the heights of his brother , I always quite enjoyed tony scott films.

He made action movies the way they should be , simple and no nonsense.

sad to see him go.

Top Gun director Tony Scott has fallen to his death from a Los Angeles bridge, Los Angeles County coroner's officials have told US media.
Various US media, including Variety magazine, quoted coroner's officals and port police as saying that the 68-year-old brother of director Ridley Scott fell from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island about 12.30pm local time.
US director Ron Howard tweeted: "No more Tony Scott movies. Tragic day."

'Top Gun' director Tony Scott dead after jumping off bridge

AP
August 20, 2012 2:30PM

Tony Scott, director of such Hollywood blockbusters as 'Top Gun,' 'Days of Thunder' and 'Beverly Hills Cop II,' has died after jumping from a Los Angeles County Bridge.

Los Angeles County Coroner's Lt. Joe Bale says Scott's death Sunday is being investigated as a suicide.

Authorities say the 68-year-old Scott jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island in Los Angeles.

U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Jennifer Osburn tells the Daily Breeze a suicide note was found inside Scott's black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of the bridge.

Always loved Last Boyscout and Enemy of the State.

Tragic that he couldn't see another way out of his troubles. RIP

Wonder what demons he was dealing with to jump.....

No sympathy from me from someone who commits suicide but will miss his films.

From what i've read, he discovered a relapse of an existing form of brain cancer. Doctors told him that this cancer would be inoperable and he would inevitably die from it. He decided to jump and alleviate his family from the pain of having to see him die a long and painful death.

sad. rip

actually scrap that rumour,

actress Donna Wilson, has told investigators rumours her husband suffered from a brain tumour are “absolutely false” and he didn't suffer any serious illness.
