Great news for Rugby League in general . Eric Perez announced that the first game against Oxford was close to being a sellout.

With a week to go let's hope the promotion can continue to sell the Lamport stadium out .

Wow! That's an amazing effort. Eric Perez is dead set genius.

Is this game being live streamed?

He also mentioned in a podcast that the second game was selling better than the first now due to the opposition (Barrow) being undefeated. It wasn't clear whether he meant rate of sales or total numbers though

Torrential rain all week in Toronto which might put a dampener on things since it's an open stadium, apparently a lot of events in the city have been cancelled due to the extreme weather.

Watching this is quite surreal. There's quite a solid crowd there.

Crowd was 6281 I think. Great considering the weather.

That's great anyway, even without the weather and more than a few SL clubs have been pulling in recently. Now the big test is to keep those 6,000 coming back and expand.

Been following all the developments regarding this team closely in the past 12 months. By far the most exciting thing to happen to international rugby league for a long long time. From the outside looking in, it looks like a tremendously well executed operation to get this off the ground. The marketing is fantastic..from social media to sponsorships..to fan engagement and branding. The goal and vision of Eric Perez seems to be to grow rugby league in North America on all levels.

Most importantly, the club is run with an entrepreneurial energy that we're not used to seeing with the dinosaurs that are currently running rugby league clubs. A real breath of fresh air.

Put him in charge of RLIF and we would be ahead of Football as the worlds most popular sport inside 18 months. :):)
