If the NRL go ahead with their total disregard for IRL and put on Origin after this fanciful idiotic 3 match Grand Final joke, what can be done?

If they have the SOO post season, how would a NZ or Tongan XIII go in place of the Kangaroo tour? Could PNG go to France. NZ v Tonga before the possible tours?

Surely if the NRL want to play SOO to save their financial arses, then other players should be able to head of to Tours..Can't afford it? IRL, now is the time and place to monetise the International game and f*** off the NRL..

I don’t blame the NRL for planning Origin over tests this year. There’s no guarantee international travel isn’t going to be interrupted still or perhaps even by a second wave. the NRL need money and a kangaroo tour isn’t going to provide enough.

There’s talk of playing the Challenge Cup final at Old Trafford on what would be the usual GF date and the GF at Spurs’ stadium on what would be the third Test date so it looks like the RFL/SL are resigned to no Ashes series.

All the noise coming out of the media/government suggests international restrictions will be in place until the end of the year or maybe even early next year. There’s no way they should be investing any money in planning something with such big questions over it.
It’s a shame it won’t happen but let’s ensure governing bodies are still viable for the World Cup.

Sun-Herald this morning are suggesting that the Exiles may be dusted off if the Kangaroo Tour is called off.

talking about Izzy & Sonny, Manu Ma’u and James Moloney. They also mention Jackson Hastings... but that can’t be right, he is a Brit now - isn’t he ? :)

I've resigned myself to the Ashes Tour being cancelled. The NRL and anti-international media must be beside themselves with glee.

If Australia choose greed and advertising dollars for Nein, take the cash and play SOO over November, then there's no reason the Oceania Cup can't also be played.

England can play the 'Exiles' and France can join them..

I don’t know how you’ve come to the conclusion greed is a factor. The government are telling everyone not to plan international travel this year. The chances of having crowds at these games would be next to zero.
I would love to see the ashes tour but it’s just not practical this year.
The entire sport is on a financial precipice and all efforts for the time being should be on generating the largest financial return with the least financial risk. That’s not an ashes tour, as an England fan it’s worrying we could be facing going to a World Cup with a manager who hasn’t managed the side but that’s the world we’re in at the moment.

If there’s no international travel then Maloney and Folau will be stuck in France.
