Same, time to unleash Du Plessis!

Caught the Broncos/Cowboys game.

It was an interesting contrast in styles, the Broncos enterprise versus the Cowboys high percentage, low risk football. In the end, the Cowboys showed that in the opening rounds, consistensy with the football is the superior brand.

Tries went in as followed:
Tupou claimed a Thompson mid-field kick to open the scoring for the Cows. 4-0

Broncos hit back just before halftime as Copley took advantage of a break and danced away 20m from the line.

Broncos continued the roll on in the second half after they made another break this time down their right hand side. Baptiste takes full advantage and sends Frei over.

However the Cowboys aren't done. With less than 20 minutes remaining five eigth Morgan slices through the Broncos defence and scores from about 20-30m out.

Then the Cowboys caught the Broncos down the right hand side, with Tupou taking advantage of the numbers game and proving too hard to stop that far out from the line.

Broncos had one last chance and it nearly pulled off. An ad-lib play which featured a ton of offloads ended in a knock on when one of the Broncos right hand players couldn't pick up the bouncing ball. Had he controlled it, nobody was infront of him and there were two players around him.

An exciting finish and a well deserved victory to the Cowboys.

Players who stood out...

Brisbane Broncos

Aaron Whitchurch - A really classy centre who came up with some great plays, especially in defence.

Dale Copley - Another classy performance and for mine had Tupou's measure all game.

Kurt Baptiste - Lead the pack around well.

Dunamis Lui - Awesome work-rate, the pick of the bunch for mine.

Mitchell Frei - Showed some good signs, took some effort to tackle.

Cowboys
Michael Morgan - Was my man of the match. Really organised the Cowboys well around the park and knew when to take the game into his own hands. Was the difference between victory and defeat.

Ray Thompson - Was a class or two above his opposition halves. Still needs a bit of work for mine.

James Segeyaro - Really did a great job for the Cowboys. Kicked from dummy half and earnt his team a number of goal line drop outs, always asked questions of the markers and laid out the pain with some big hits. If it wasn't for Morgan's heroics, he'd for my money, was great for the Cowboys.

James Taumalolo - A massive unit who did a lot of work with the footy and demanded the attention of at least 4 defenders at all times.

Ronnie was a Gold Coast product before the Cowboys signed him.

He left the Cowboys last season, I believe the reason he gave the club was home sickness.
