wow.
Broncos - 50
NZ - 18

Warriors were leading 18-16 at half-time then the broncos ran riot with 34 unanswered second half points.
I'd like to read a report of this match; most of the key stats are very similar with the broncos actually missing more tackles (14-12). Warriors had to make an extra 60 or so tackles so the broncs must have really starved them of possession.

Young Broncos Demolish Warriors

The WOW Brisbane Broncos under 20s have continued their charge to the finals with a commanding 50-18 victory against The Warriors at Suncorp Stadium this evening.

The second half began with some lazy defence by the Warriors leading to halfback Ben Hunt diving over from dummy half.

Hunt failed to convert as the Broncos gained a narrow lead of 20-18, 43 minutes in.

A brilliant pass by interchange player Rhys Matsen led to centre Dale Copley making a 30 metre break up field before handing off a perfectly-timed pass for Dane Gagai to score.

Hunt converted as the Broncos edged ahead 26-18, 52 minutes in.

Some ill discipline and poor kicking hurt the Warriors as Hunt gave a short ball for interchange player Mitchell Dodds to go over next to the posts.

Five-eighth Corey Norman added the extras as the Broncos extended their lead to 32-18, 60 minutes in.

Some enterprising play on the last tackle by centre Josh Williams allowed for the barnstorming second rower Brent Williams to score.

Hunt converted to give the Broncos a healthy 38-18 lead.

The Broncos continued to dominate as Norman exploded through a hole and fended off some tired Warriors defence as he went in under the posts.

Hunt converted to give the Broncos a commanding 44-18 lead with eight minutes left.

The Broncos kept the intensity up as lock Guy Ford refused to be denied close to the line.

Hunt converted as the Broncos strolled to 50-18, 75 minutes in to the match.

Earlier some ill discipline on the last tackle by the Warriors gave the Broncos ideal field position to put points on.

Hooker Kurt Baptiste took advantage as he dummied and darted his way over the try line making the score 4-0.

Hunt added the extras to put the Broncos in front 6-0 in the 16th minute.

Some bad hands out wide by the Broncos led to the Warriors interchange player Ben Henry crossing over in the corner.

Half-back Shaun Johnson added the extras to make the score 6-6, 26 minutes in.

The Broncos were looking good as some quick hands led to overlaps on the fringes with plenty of metres being gained.

A great break by Copley was finished off by some desperation work by Jharal Yow Yeh to keep the ball in play for centre Josh Williams to cross in the corner.

Hunt failed to convert as the Broncos edged ahead 10-6, 31 minutes in.

Some great footwork by Hunt allowed him to offload for Hatsen to link up with a flying Yow Yeh to go over in the corner.

Hunt converted from the sideline to keep the Broncos in front 16-6 in the 33rd minute.

Some slick passing by Johnson led to second rower Mike Afioga running a brilliant line to go over close to the posts.

Johnson converted bringing his side back in to the match trailing 16-12, with three minutes remaining in the half.

The Warriors looked in trouble until Johnson took a length of the field intercept to even the match up at 16-all.

He converted his own try putting his side in front for the first time in the match right on the stroke of half-time.

DRAGONS TOYOTA CUP SIDE CONVINCING OVER ROOSTERS

The Dragons Under 20’s have continued their winning ways at WIN Jubilee Oval tonight defeating the Roosters 58 – 10.

A re-shuffle of the Dragons Toyota Cup line-up seemed to be of little concern as the team started with a bang scoring two tries in the first 10 minutes.

The first went to centre Kane Linnett after he pounced on a neat little grubber-kick. Henry Raiwalui missed the conversion and the Dragons led 4-0. This was followed by a try to Shannon Wakeman who crashed over near the posts, the try was converted with the Dragons racing to a 10-0 lead.

Against the run-of-play, the Roosters hit back in the 20th minute with a quality try which saw the ball move through four sets of hands, before finding Roosters winger Cyprian Ale in the far left-hand corner. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful. Scores remained Dragons 10, Roosters 4.

It wasn’t long before the Dragons struck back, with winger Kalifa Fai-Fai Loa diving on a well-placed kick to score in the corner. Cameron King converted from the sideline and took the Dragons lead out to 16-4.

Three minutes later and Dragons five-eight Kyle Stanley sliced through the Roosters defense with a beautiful right-foot step close to the line. Cameron King converted. Dragons 22, Roosters 4.

The 36th minute and Dragons winger Kalifa Fai-Fai Loa looked for a chip and chase over his opposite winger, when Grant Nelson plucked the ball out of the air and raced 70 metres to score near the posts. Roosters half Luke Towers converted, taking the score to Dragons 22, Roosters 10.

At half-time the score was Dragons 22, Roosters 10.

The Dragons opened the scoring in the second-half, with Kane Linnett giving the try assist to Joe Vickery in the 44th minute extending the Dragons lead to 26-10. King converted the goal, taking the Dragons lead out to three converted tries.

Kalifa Fai-Fai Loa stretched the Roosters defence in the 53rd minute, making a break down the eastern touchline and finding a charging Jared Brodrick in support who outpaced the Roosters chasers to score. Cameron King was successful with the conversion attempt. Dragons 28-10.

Three minutes later and Fai-Fail Loa was over again scoring under the posts. Cameron King converted. Dragons 40, Roosters 10.

After sustained attack on the Roosters line, hooker Mitch Rein burrowed over taking the score out to Dragons 44, Roosters 10. King converted the goal. Dragons 46, Roosters 10.

76th minute and Ken Edwards was too hard to stop close to the line, carrying two defenders over with him. Joe Vickery converted. Dragons 52, Roosters 10.

With the clock ticking down, Chase Stanley brushed off one defender and outstretched his arm to score in the corner. Joe Vickery converted, making the final score Dragons 58, Roosters 10.
