Doing some hangover induced couch reading on Sunday post the Four Nations night out I was intrigued to read that Australia and New Zealand met in a test series 1919.........but then not gain till 1935 !!!

First thought i'd misread it so checked - then crossreferenced with another source and the same answer was forthcoming.

Anyone know the reason for the long break ? This includes the Great Depresssion years so possibly this has an impact - howver the English did tour here in 1925.

Likely the same reason as per the Cricket Tests. NZ considered 'little brother', and not worth putting them back by repeated defeats.
Guess though.

There were a number of Kangaroo tours in between those years, which back then it them about 6-7 months outside of Australia.

Plus I think during the time of those tours, New Zealand played a few matches against NSW.
