just reading a fox sports list on un-contracted players for next season.

And I noticed Trent Hodkinson was still unsigned.

The Warriors have made it clear that they are still in the market for another player...

I think he probably won't want to move to NZ and there would be better offers from the likes of Manly...

But he would almost be the final piece of the puzzle for the Warriors wouldn't he??

Hokko is not a five-eighth. He's a first choice halfback. If you put him at #6, you're putting him out of position. You guys already have a brilliant halfback, you should look at getting a specialist five-eighth.

Yeah the number really doesn't matter these days as most halves tend to play sides or roles.

Whether it's Johnson at 6 and Hodkinson at 7... Hodkinson would run the ship and Johnson would be free to work his magic at his own pace.

I gotta ask though BF... What's up with Hodkinson at the dogs?? The article said the dogs weren't that keen on keeping him...

If we were to sign him it would give us a kicking game (and turn most of those 4 pointers into 6), anyway. He's not worth the money being asked, even for us - at 500k/yr I'd go for him... let Johnson do the running and Hodkinson the kicking (the number on their back doesn't matter), but I keep hearing he wants 750k+... and I think we need to keep a little bit of money in reserve for upgrades (and probably an experienced central forward for a year or two, since we're losing both Rapira & Matagi).

Whoever loses the DCE war will probably throw most of his asking figure at him out of desperation, and he would be more likely to join that club than ours, even with the roster he'd be playing with (if that was a huge factor in his decision he'd probably stay at the Dogs).

The fella wearing 7 is indeed brilliant, not sure he's a halfback, or would give up #7 - but make no mistake, Hokko would be halfback in our team, and a fine addition

I'd far rather him than TL at 6 that's for sure. But you guys are right, probably have to pay overs for him and in that case he ain't worth it.

He'd be a very decent pick-up, but not at the price we'd have to pay. Went very well last year behind a good pack, which he'd have here.

But not going to happen.
