The proof is in the pudding mate. Cricket Australia booked the windies for the prestige tests over NZ. Truth be told they would rather not play either nation but we have to be good global cricket citizens and throw a few crumbs to the lesser nations.

I think you need to look up the word fickle and have think about Australian cricket vis a vis the West Indies from at least the 1970's (if not well earlier with the 1960 tied test) to the 1990's. But far from me educate you about your own countries cricket history, I think you are completely oblivious and ignorant that the only nation that "throw a few crumbs" is India when they tour away and the broadcasting fee that they generate which pays the bills for all the "lesser" nations and goes a long long long way to putting money into the Austrlaian and English Cricket Board's coffers.

You're in a dreamland if you don't realise that India, and India alone, is the all important TV market that pays the bills.

Cricket Australia and the ECB would be financial without the bcci...just less so. We certainly don't produce the money India does but there are only 20 million of us mate.

Also the windies have clearly slid in importance. Like the RSA would if they sucked for an extended period of time.

You're not throwing any crumbs to the "lesser nations". Only India is in that position.

Yawn

We could have won the 05 ashes if we had got another 50 runs at trent bridge.

You also forgot this howler from your favourite (sarcasm) New Zealander, Billy Bowden in the famous Edgbaston test:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwZXhz18k1s

Bowden, closely followed by Rudi "look at me with the slow finger raised" Koertzen, made numerous blunders in the 2005 and 2009 Ashes, were 10x worse than Ross Emerson and that's saying something!

That is fair enough. Many in NZ and SA want their own cricket programmes for summer. Plus Perth is better for viewing due to the time zones.

"Premium tests" - ha. The Boxing Day test is only one game.

Haha your cricket board would be on the streets turning tricks for a crack at a boxing day test here.

Since then every other Test nation except for Zimbabwe and Bangladesh has featured in the Boxing Day Test more than once but New Zealand have been left out.

The Kiwis are desperate for another chance to appear on the showpiece occasion but with the soon-to-be-announced Future Tours Program from 2015 to 2023 all but finalised they are set to be overlooked again.

"I think every New Zealand cricketer dreams of playing in the Boxing Day Test match," New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White told Fairfax Media on Tuesday.

"We haven't played in it for many, many years and I'm not sure that's going to happen in the near future - it's not going to happen this year. But it's something that we're pushing and something that our cricketers would dream of playing.

----------

But but but we don't want it anyway

Why? How does that make our cricket board money?

It can put on a Boxing Day test, or ODI series in New Zealand, sell the broadcast rights overseas, take in at the gate, and make money.

How does playing Boxing Day in Australia do anything for the NZ Cricket Board?

For the players, all they care about is Lords honour board - for some peculiar reason.

It may have been David White's dream to playing in Melbourne on December 26, but most NZ cricketers seem to only get really excited about the thought of playing and getting on the honors board at Lords in tests. But David White and any subsequent NZ CEO will make sure about NZC's finances before worrying about a MCG game on Dec 26 in the height of NZ holidays even if the NZ players so especially wanted it for some peculiar reason - I mean they would be away from their families on and leading into Christmas holidays to be in Melbourne and maybe Hobart. The players have families.

Haha OK mate

According to your chief executive your players dream about playing a boxing day test here. The only dream about NZ cricket our lads have is to never have to set foot in that miserable shithole but alas our lovely board is tossing NZ cricket a bone.

What bone?

The money comes from selling broadcast rights. and less so from selling tickets. The broadcast and tickets rights belong to the host nation.

We are touring NZ in a bit you fool.

How is that tossing NZ a bone? Foxtel and Channel 9 is not exactly an Indian Broadcasting bidding war.

If you were tossing us a bone - you would have kept the third test and thrown in some ODI games. We could try and sell those to India (especially after the 2015 World Cup). But instead - you have your Indian master and overlord coming over for some limited overs cricket ;) India is throwing you a bone ;) Does NZ want that Indian bone? Of course we do. Every nation does. England, Australia, West Indies, everyone.

All cricket boards want to win favor with India tours, especially for limited overs stuff.

Why would I be bothered by Australia's close relationship with Indian cricket ? There is money to be made in Australia and India. Cricket Australia needs some decent odis after the bath we are going to take on shitty NZ and the WI.

Edit

On your weird edit you do realise cricket australias best revenue years are in ashes years right.
