Hey All:
Had a pretty good weekend overall for picks, we all
got screwed on that Seattle pick hypothetically over
that whole clock winding 4th timeout thing, then again
why Seattle let Baltimore narrow that to 3 behind
Anthony Wright and Marcus Robinson we may never know.
But hey 3 OT loss from 15-1 I fought valiantly to get
my plaque back, and matched my predicted best for a
2nd time this season.
Green Bay @ Detroit: Detroit's defense did a pretty
decent job of containing the Vikings running game
which is impressive considering most teams have had a
problem with it. However Ahman Green is unstoppable
and if Green Bay makes a strong post-season run
(remaining schedule loaded with cupcakes) He could be
the new bid for MVP. Lions offense still struggled
and they just really haven't gotten any of the breaks
they needed this year, but the defense is coming
around, Charles Rogers should return by late season
hopefully so maybe some good news coming.
Final Score 31-10 Green Bay.
Miami @ Dallas: Ah a rematch of one of the most
memorable Turkey Day games in history. Y'all remember
about 10 years ago, it was snowy and icy. Miami got
their game tying FG blocked and the ball floundered
about 20 yds and landed surrounded by Dolphins, so
Leon Lett lumbers over and touches the ball and the
Dolphins recover score a TD and win. Don't think
that'll happen again. I think Dallas is bound for a
new kind of challenge this week. Tuna usually has
them up for these big games they respond admirably,
they stopped Stephen Davis for the most part and
topped the Panthers. However, I think the boys will
be a bit full of themselves after that and not take
the Dolphins seriously, Ricky Williams will put up
another big game. And Dolphins will squeak out of
Dallas with a Mare FG.
Final Score 23-20 Miami.
Arizona @ Chicago: THIS IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT A GOOD
WEEK TO START BOLDIN. As I keep on with my Boldin
Meter, he's a keeper, anyway.... Chicago's defense is
something else and these younger guys are awesome and
started to Mold together into a strong cohesive unit
despite my earlier comments about Ted Washington.
Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman have been awesome and
Jerry Azumah is starting to make a pretty good kick
returner. Expect another close defensive game
(especially if Chandler's back) But I think A-Train
will pound out the necessary yardage to help the Bears
cause.
Final Score 16-6 Chicago.
Atlanta @ Houston: Oh boy, this should be a fun
game!! Don't know if Vick will shake off those
nagging injuries, but this would be a fun week to come
back. Houston has an offense even without David Carr
and they make things interesting for people. Then if
Vick's back, and even if not Warrick Dunn has been
primetime recently. This could be the shootout of the
week. I'd like to go with Atlanta, but too tempting to
take the Texans at home behind Domanick Davis and
expect a 3 GAME WINNING STREAK?
Final Score 31-27 Houston.
Buffalo @ NY Giants: Fassel's officially going to get
fired now at the end of the season. They had to have
that game vs. Tampa and the horrible play calling on
the final drive (not that safety/onside free kick
thing either) C'mon two deep sideline routes that
Collins throws out of bounds, sacked on third down,
waste the timeout just to take a safety blech!!! I
love Fassel as a coach and feel he got dealt a stacked deck of
cards this year, but he's gonna get the screws for it
anyway. Well Shockey will be back
, maybe this team can get their shit together now
and try to finish 9-7 and save his job.
Final Score 27-13 NY Giants.
Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh: I have no clue what it's
going to take to convince everybody of the reality
that the Bengals are going to the playoffs. They have
a good defense and a suprising young and talented
offense like i`ve been saying on the forum and to mates.... all season long.
This team might not just make the playoffs
but go deep. And for all of you true football fans, have to fall in love with
the Bengals. So many bad years and finally something
worth cheering about, and what will be the next Marvin
Harrison in the NFL Chad Johnson is a very dedicated
and confident young receiver who I think will go on to
have a hall of fame career. Pittsburgh usually
follows up a big win with Disappointment so expect the
trend to continue GO BENGALS!!!
Final Score 23-10 Cincinnati.
Minnesota @ St. Louis: Man the quick hook will be in
line for Mark Bulger against and opportunistic young
Minnesota secondary. But if he plays his game and
throws accurately they'll torch Minnesota. Viking
tend to jump routes and leave to much over the top and
they get jumped on early by teams. A 10-7 win over
the hapless Lions was inflated to 24-7 but late INT
returns, but this Minnesota team is desparate to
re-establish itself and I think this could be the nail
in the coffin for Minnesota. I'm obviously pulling for Green Bay to win the
division so teams like Tampa, San Francisco, Seattle and
New Orleans won't have to worry about not having a
tie-breaker because of Green Bay. Minnesota doesn't
deserve to make the playoffs right now AND WILL END UP
NOT MAKING IT.... !!!! NO REALLY.
Final Score 30-24 St. Louis.
New England @ Indianapolis: This could be the game of
the week. Belichek has his teams ready for every game
and is the most gifted script writer in the NFL.
Shanahan has nothing on him right now and a shoe-in
for coach of the year (not hating on Lewis and
Fischer) Colts are having a rough time offensively
and are really leaning on Edgerrin James to carry the
team. This week Edge won't get much and omus be on
Manning to win a tough ball game against a good
secondary. I think Vinatieri better have that leg
ready cuz they'll be calling him again in a huge game
with Home Field Advantage implications in the AFC.
Final Score 23-20 New England.
Philadelphia @ Carolina: Damn is there a game that
doesn't have playoff implications this week, this is
going to be a fun weekend to watch football, hope my
cable doesn't get shut off or something. I think this
is the week we find out how really overrated the
Panthers are. Brian Westbrook should have another
huge game as the Eagles storm back atop the NFC
Playoff Mountain. And my darkhorse Sweetheart Saints
could maybe amass something of a playoff run? yeee I
dunno.
Final Score 23-6 Philadelphia.
San Francisco @ Baltimore: Ravens seem to get the big
breaks recently despite some bad fortune, but expect
that to be the last favors officials do for Billick to
keep him off their asses after games. This week
they'll do a wonderful job of stopping the run, but
omus on Will Demps to stop TO oh no, that's not a
favorable match-up should be fun, but Marcus Robinson
IS NOT going to get another 4 TDs his should've saved
some of those for the stretch.
Final Score 27-16 San Francisco.
New Orleans @ Washington: Not really concerned as to
whether the Redskins start Ramsey or Hasselbeck,
shouldn't matter should be a good shootout game with
no real defense emerging. Deuce McAllister should
have another 200 yds DEADSKINS ARE TOAST!.
Final Score 34-13 New Orleans.
Cleveland @ Seattle: Well this looks like a good spot
to issue my UPSET SPECIAL. Browns offense looked
miserable vs. the Steelers last week. But the Ravens
are flat and torched the Seahawks. Air is coming out
a bit and expect a surprising rough up job on Matt
Hasselbeck by a Browns pass rush? Sure why not .
Final Score 23-17 Cleveland.
Denver @ Oakland: I have a lot of respect for how the
Raiders are responding recently to all the adversity
surrounding that team since their superbowl debocale.
I suspect that they should play admirably once again
and SHOCK the Broncos in a shootout.
Final Score 27-24 Oakland.
Kansas City @ San Diego: Wow I wish I had the Chiefs
schedule so my fantasy team could go 10-1 too. No
Worries, they'll keep up the good work this week, and
really only have to look over their shoulders or the
Pats as they keep moving along with 5 weeks to go.
Final Score 30-17 Kansas City.
Tampa Bay @ Jacksonville: Buccs will make the
playoffs and run the table I think now. Decided that
they are motivated and a team with the right focus
after the whole Keyshawn Johnson thing. Jags
struggled even with Kevin Johnson and the offense just
really hasn't come together yet, despite an improving
defense. Should be a close game. But Tampa will
continue to thump like a champ and make the plays they
have to have. Look out for Charles Lee kid is a
gamer. FOR GOD SAKE JAGS START MARK BRUNELL.
Final Score 20-13 Tampa Bay.
Tennessee @ NY Jets: Man does Herm Edwards got the
Jets playing never say die football or what. Defense
is missing some of it's key components and they
continue to succeed where they should otherwise lose.
With or without McNair I think Chad Pennington will
keep the Jets going in the right direction and have
them thinking Wildcard.
Final Score 30-27 NY Jets.
