What May offers as a player is totally irrelevant. He needs to be treated fairly and dealt with based on the facts of the situation. I will be disappointed if the club sacks him, but he is being given an opportunity to plead his case.

Somebody please help him draft an apology to the lady and explanation of his post. His silence has just given the media more fuel for their fire. Who is advising him on this matter? Whoever it is, so far they have been less than helpful.

That last part is the issue. A few guys have been poorly advised

He's been treated more than fairly and is still carrying on, he's a bum bye bye

They didn't sack him. He left, very upset about the way the club failed to support him over the golf club matter involving Mitchell Pearce. He played a season or two after that. I was thinking Grevsmuhl, but even he was given a quiet release.

I can't remember this club ever sacking a first grader before. Definitely not one who'd won a premiership. And they've had some shockers.

Mark Geyer.
Penrith cancelled his contract midway through the season and closed the door on him at year's end

Ritchie Williams and Daine Laurie were sacked, but both were reserve grade bums.

Gowies meltdown was in 2005 at a Jack Newtown golf event. He had a shocker, allegedly inappropriately groped Wayne Pearce daughter according to the media reports, crashed a golf buggy amongst other alcohol related incidents At the same event or time. Well documented in the media, he wasn’t sacked, played on with us for another couple of seasons. Not his finest moment, but everyone makes mistakes.

We can laugh about it now.

PENRITH halfback Craig Gower is at the centre of another alcohol-fuelled incident involving rugby league players, with allegations the Test footballer manhandled the daughter of former great Wayne Pearce after a charity golf event.
Gower was at the presentation dinner for the Jack Newton Celebrity Golf Classic on the Sunshine Coast when the incident reportedly occurred.
The Nine Network reported that the 27-year-old had manhandled the woman and was later involved in separate heated altercations with both Pearce and the son of the former Test player and NSW captain. It was further alleged that Gower - who was thrown out of the Australian rugby league team for exposing himself to a tourist in 1999 and fined $3000 for breaking a NSW team curfew last year - was kicked out of the official function, and had walked around the resort naked and crashed a golf cart.

Gower did not return calls yesterday but on Tuesday he strenuously denied any wrongdoing. "I'm up here to have a good time and that's it. What, I can't go out and enjoy myself?" he said. "At the end of the day, I am a normal bloke. I'm no better than anybody else. As long as I respect others, that's the main thing."
His position had altered yesterday, admitting in a statement he had pushed the boundaries on Monday night.

You know how it goes it Franklin. Whatever the incident big or small Sponsors (businesses) freak out. When the pressure comes from social media about boycotting them for their perceived stance, or sponsorship of an controversial individual.
Most of it comes from people who aren't customers or likely be.
Other than Oak, Bluebet maybe Hertz I guarantee most of ours fans wouldn’t have a clue who the clubs silver or bronze sponsors are. It’s all a media beat up.

I’ve seen a lot of Panthers fans on social media that are fed up with May.

They defended the club against the other silly allegations after the grand final, but a lot of people want May gone.

It can hardly be that surprising.

Social media is the last place you would place any significance on.

Social media is largely supportive of the Insulate Britain movement where knuckleheads glue themselves to major aerial roads to prevent traffic movement to raise awareness.

The social media support is from the vocal minorities, everyone else is just trying to get to work, get there kids to school or an ambulance trying to get a seriously ill person to hospital.

The world we now live in is driven by leftists and minorities who drive the agenda on social media.

I am a life member of the Panthers, have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who are Panther fans, none of whom express opinions on Facebook, Twitter or wherever you can provide such opinion. From my discussions in person it is generally accepted what he did was not worthy of being sacked, but most are happy with the process.

If there are genuine Panthers fans who want to see him sacked it is more reflective of there opinion of him as a football player and there opinion based on his worth to us as a player.

Most of my circle of mates think he is an ordinary player and as such want him gone. They wanted him gone before the charges.

It is up to the NRL to decide if a player is able to keep playing or not. They have decided he can

How many didn't want him re-signed originally though?

But opinions around his abilities as a player, or his value to our roster, is not what this issue is about.

Stupid is as stupid does, is his rather innocuous social media post on top of his previous indiscretions worthy of being sacked? I just don’t see it.

His worth as a player is an entirely seperate debate.
