Fantastic to see. Both are very talented young blokes and it's great Ulugia is sticking around after some talk of him heading elsewhere. Hopefully they can push on.

Ulugia, Lowe sign with the Cowboys
Friday 31 August 2012 12:31 PM

Junior Kiwis representative Wayne Ulugia has agreed to a new two-year contract with the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.
A member of the Cowboys’ 2011 Toyota Cup grand final squad, Ulugia holds the record for most games played in the under-20s competition and will line-up for his 88th appearance when North Queensland play Cronulla at Toyota Stadium on Sunday.
He has scored 48 tries in the NYC, the most by any Cowboy.
During the second half of this season, the 20-year-old played 10 Intrust Super Cup matches with the Northern Pride to add to his footballing experience.
Cowboys General Manager – Football Peter Parr said Ulugia was viewed as a regular NRL team member of the future.
“He has the ability to play at fullback or the wing and has undergone a thorough apprenticeship,” Parr said.
“Wayne’s been part of our full-time NRL squad for the past two years and isn’t that far away from breaking through into our first grade team.
“The coaching staff have been very impressed with his performances for the Pride since he started playing there midway through the year.”
“He’s been with our club since school and I know he’s looking forward to being here for at least another two years.
The Cowboys have also signed Intrust Super Cup Rookie of the Year Ethan Lowe for next season.
The back-rower, who trained with North Queensland during the 2012 pre-season, played all 22 matches for the Northern Pride this year.
“He’s had an exceptional year for the Pride and we believe he is ready to take the next step up and play NRL football,” Parr said.

Good to see Lowe get some recognition.

Nothing wrong with keeping Ulugia either, hasn't kicked on as expected back in 2010 & with the emergence of Santo wouldn't have been a disaster to let go but it's good to see a player remain loyal to the club.

Ulugia scored three tries this afternoon, and racked up some impressive stats in the process. Our NYC finished on a high, winning 48-28. They finished in 13th spot after a hard season.
