Not sure if we are quite ready for it.

Perhaps in 2020 as part of the 125th Anniversary

No, all that is is an aged restricted WC, will all players coming from NRL junior sides and SL junior sides. A NYC world cup so to speak.

We could go to u18, where teams are fielded from completely domestic French sides, PNG sides, and you'd expect (soon) places like Wales and Fiji. But it looks more likely this will probably go through RL9's channels

I have been calling for this for years, although an under 18's World Cup also has benefits which allow nrl clubs to pick up juniors from other countries and have enough time to develop them. A junior World Cup should be held every year in a developing country!

Yes a junior under 18 WC is the way. Allows clubs to recruit, showcases domestic development, and shows potential investers/sponsors that rugby league is a viable professional sport and new professional competitions should be developed.
