In my opinion..POH is over rated...or at least, hasn't lived up to the hype that surrounds him..and there seems to be plenty of that..BUT, that is just MY opinion...

Heard this guy has put some FG forwards in their arse in pre season training! Shacks didn't take too kindly to it

I met the kid recently and he's a very solid build and still growing for a 17 year old, next time i see him i should ask him what him about him putting shack on his arse

I agree with you Pete, i would of thought his development would of progressed a little further than what it has..

Reading through the list of names in this thread you'd think this was the Warriors U20's we're talking about.

On O'Hanlon, well he's only 20. The phsyical requirements for play at NRL level these days are a lot different to what they were in the 80's and 90's. Especially for forwards. So you can't really expect him to be playing regular first grade until his body fills out properly.

maybe you misunderstood the part about players to watch, no one is suggesting they will be the warriors or any other club for that matter..

as for POH, he's 21 this year and had 3 years to develop into something more than a fringe first grader, from what i saw last sunday he was off the pace and doesnt surprise me that he wasnt included in the 20 man squad..

Agree with what ive seen of POH-I remember people saying he was the best forward to come thru since hindmarsh-To me he looks slow has no real mongrel and doubt he would berak the line in first grade.A good example is Fensom who was a line breaking under 20's player-When he stepped up too first grade he was moulded into a tackle machine and his runs arent realy effeective at all.Its way to early to ride him off thou.Mannah was useles the first 13-14 games of nrl and he didnt debut till 20-21

I didn't misunderstand anything Stagger, I was referring to the fact the names people are throwing up are of polynesian descent, and that's a sign of the way the game is changing. Nothing wrong with that either the future of the NRL will probably rely on the Polynesian players.

That's also relevent in regards to the development of Pat O'Hanlon. He's a greatly talented young player but you shouldn't be expecting him to be physically ready for NRL standard when he is still growing. It's different with the Islanders as they mature physically a lot earlier. The days are gone where you can be a 20 year old 90 something kilos and playing NRL footy are over. Most forwards these days don't even make their first grade debut until they are 21 or 22.

Agree Eels dude-FOrwards dont realy hit there straps till 25 IMO...Unless your polynesian. Its a little different for backs but forwards are usualy a lot older-Thts why Mannah and Allgood could become very special players

That's right and that's what I was getting at. Both Mannah and Allgood made their first grade debuts at 21 years of age and they are two of the best young props in the game. It's way too early to be directing criticism at O'Hanlon just yet.
