 No Clint? Even the US have some standards when it comes to heart, apparently

I don't think Newton never said he would play for the US. He is eligible and that's why people seem to want to link him to the Tomahawks but being eligible and choosing to play are vastly different things. It's not a bad side and goos to see a few new American produced names in the squad. But they'll need a miracle to beat a Samoan side full of Kiwi Test players.

Clint is going under the knife and will not be able to play.

Does anyone have a list of the Samoan squad?

If Newton ever wanted a rep jumper, he'd take the US berth. He was a long shot at an Aussie berth a few seasons ago, but those days are well behind him.

I don't remember many US players from that memorable game against Australia a few years ago, but what happened to Nate Smith? He and Danny Bull impressed the hell out of me.

They were the GF teams for a reason. Don't think there are other players out there that should take any of their places.

I think some of the players from NY, New Haven, and NJ would disagree.

It is the same old crap...the Tomahawks camp was a farce, at the end of the day...what about all the camps that were going to be run?

The fact is that this league (AMNRL) will never get better until somebody is in charge who can truly view the whole league...too many good to great players were left out in the cold...no development :(

Well let's see....how many Warriors were at the Friday night camp? There was one and he stayed off to the side after 10 minutes because he was unfit. How many sharks? Yet again one. He ran well but I don't see him taking the place of any of the selections. How many knights? I bet about 4 or 5. They all went well but none stood out except for Gareth. Only problem there is he would not replace Vassy and the professionals would fill the other skill positions. The US players selected were all in shape and they are ready to play. Name an eligable shark, warrior or knight that deserves selection over the players chosen.

Some ordinary players from the AMNRL

Seems to be some favoritism with the GF teams.

most of the GB team in the up coming series against NZ are going to come from st helens & leeds.....so whats your point??

That there are much better players then the ones choosen that are being left off the list b/c of the selectors allegience to these two clubs.

Also - Mater - thought selections would count for players achievements that took place during the season on the field and not a Friday night camp with less then 2 weeks notice, well after the season while running into holding pads.

I agree it should be based on the season and I would have named the same people. These people were the most important parts of the two most successful clubs, it is not an allegience matter it is a basic common sense matter. One person was selected outside of these teams and he deserved it as well. You have yet to name anyone that legitimately has the right to replace anyone selected. I saw every team play this season and there was not a single person that deserves to replace anyone. There may have been some imports for other teams but they are not eligible. It is the same talk every time there is a Tomahawk selection made yet not a single person steps it up on the field to make a statement they should be selected. What non-imports on the sharks, warriors, slayers or knights deserves it over the people selected? I am not going to say a lot about the Axemen because I have not seen enough of them and never say them at home with a full squad. Even though it had little meaning, the Friday night sesion also showed how much more the players selected wanted it....you could tell by their fitness levels compared to all the others.

IF they have pulled out then I think it's time for the Tomahawks to begin the long process of developing their own players that regularly turn out in the AMNRL and the few who actually DO show some committment to the shirt. I bet that if by some fluke the Yanks qualified, the NRL players (if their withdrawal is confirmed) would soon make themselves available to play in Australia.
